Oddly enough Fratelli's is about a mile away from me and I've only tried them once before (pizza). Well that changes going forward. Today I ordered the shrimp parm and it was fantastic. The shrimp was really flavorful and breaded well but not too much. Serving size was enough to have left over for lunch tomorrow. I ordered through Uber for delivery (yes I could have picked up but I was being lazy lol) and it was finished quickly and arrived piping hot. Had a Fratelli's pizza and was really disappointed. The pie was the thinnest I had ever seen. Barely 3/16" thick, including the cheese and pepperoni. Ate half the pie and was still hungry. I passed this place daily for a week thinking it was gone, only to look in the window on the way into the excellent Amboy Bagels to see a small poster with Fratelli's on it and a pizza counter way, way at the back. It's the only store in the building without a sign above the door. I've been wanting to check it out for the clam pizza while I'm in town, and if it hadn't been for hurricane Ida stranding me up here, I'd have missed it. I ordered a white sauce clam pizza, thin crust, and my wife got a slice of white sauce lemon chicken. The guy brought me a slice of cheese pizza on the house while I waited. Cheese pizza? Nice. Chicken pizza? Very good (says my wife; I don't like chicken on a pizza, but even I'd eat that one in a pinch, really flavorful). Clam pizza? Amazing. Buttery, garlicky fresh clams and cheese, not too much cheese, not too little. Makes me wish I lived here. This place has an enormous menu. Pastas, sandwiches, burgers, calzones, stromboli, chicken and veal entrees, salads, soups, and thin, pan, and stuffed pizzas. They serve slices for lunch. Ordered thru SliceLife app. Ordered chicken francaise with penne. In the special request box I asked for the penne to be put on the side with marinara sauce. - - not an unusual or odd request. As you can see in the picture, I didn't receive what I asked for. I called the restaurant and explained what I asked for and the man said "that's how it's served." I didn't think my request was "world-moving" and of course you receive a rude response from the owner. I guess they don't need my business. Ordered twice from here. First time everything was fine. Quick delivery - food was good. Second time the delivery guy forgot one of my 2 liter drinks and told me I only ordered 2 when I ordered 3. Called in and they delivered the 3rd one. Food seemed good. I actually noticed something dark on the pizza when it first got in but for some reason I thought it was spices or something that just fell on the pizza. When I go back to eat left overs, I get to the piece that had the "dark object" in it and look more carefully when getting ready to microwave it and notice it's a bug. Edison may not be considered by many as a culinary destination, but like much of Jersey, it's popping with pizzerias. (We're talking one every block it seems -- Bay Area folks, think taco truck infestation taken up a notch). So, the choice for select visits while staying for the best Jersey-style pizza was important. What's Jersey-style pizza BTW? Wide pie, generous tomato sauce, enough cheese/toppings balance so you can see every thing, with a crust thin and soft so you can fold the enormous slice in a wedge to consume. That said -- Fratelli's crispy vs. pliant crusts may drop a couple of points as "authentic" Jersey-style. But, still, it's damn good pizza. Featuring a wide array of styles and toppings, I went first for the classic, plain (cheese on tomato) slice. And, treasured every bite. Rich thick sauce, just enough cheese topping, and yes a crust just crispy enough that folding wasn't necessary. I gobbled it down before thinking to take a photo (sorry). As a meal extra, I *was* going to get a side salad ... but those assorted pizzas on display kept calling to me. The perfect compromise -- a chicken ceasar salad pizza, adorned with shredded lettuce, tender chicken, and dressing. Popped into the oven for a couple of minutes made for a very moist and flavorful slice of pie, its crisp crust perfectly holding all the goodness bite for bite. When we asked him about the soda he acted like we were putting him out by asking him to bring it to us AFTER we had already paid for it! Ordered off grub hub... the bbq chicken pizza was very saucy and was never able to hold a slice straight, even after we toasted it. That said, the chicken wasn't breaded and the bbq sauce was good, so I enjoyed the pizza. The knots were very garlicky, but also very oily. The calamari was all tubes, not the best. It took an hour and 50 minutes for our luke warm food to be delivered that was without a doubt sitting for at least an hour. The man answering the phone was rude, blamed us for not answering when the delivery person called (never happened), and lied multiple times about the food being on its way. After asking for a refund over the phone and being hung up on (twice!) I went and brought the food back and asked for a refund in person. I was told the food was still warm, I was just being upset and they were busy. Oh and they also refused to give a refund. Thankfully we ordered through Slice and got our money back through them. The food here is mediocre (3 stars) at best and always hit or miss. After this experience we will never give them our business again. read more

Placed a delivery order and used my card to pay for the food. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the driver so I added $3 to the total. After waiting an hour for our delivery to come two blocks down the road, the delivery driver handed me a receipt that had no tip attached to it. I apologetically explained that I already gave the tip over the phone as I didn't want him to think I was leaving him empty handed. I bring the order inside and realized the dish I ordered was completely incorrect. I called the restaurant and the owner answered and I explained the situation and was told "Oh that girl is new, sorry". No offer to make it right. He asked what dish I ordered and I told him and was met with "oh that's our old menu, we don't carry that anymore". When I requested a different dish, I was told "we don't have that any more either". I explained they didn't send a new menu with the delivery, and that the menu on their website is where I got my information. The owner then started arguing with me once I asked why no one had called me to tell me that they don't make the dish I initially requested. Great prices and great quality. The crust is super crispy and thin on the Margherita pizza, they have quite a selection of slices including buffalo chicken, bruschetta, and cheese steak. The taste is great, its always fresh and hot but best of all the CUSTOMER SERVICE is A+...On top of that the price is right especially compared to other local pizzerias. We used to go to Tano Mall but after trying this place, we haven't gone anywhere else. The cheese has a tendency to slide while your eating, probably because there's alot and the pie's HOT when you get it. Placed an order for delivery.. nothing crazy 1 Cheese Pizza, 1 order of wings and a soda. Was told 40 minutes, 1 hour later I call for an update and they said the order left a while ago and should be there any minute, call back 1.5 after order will be there any minute.. 2 hours later the order arrives... Pizza is cold, wings were not included, instead they gave me a salad (that I didn't order) and the soda was warmer than the pizza... absolutely horrible. Never again.. I tried to call back several times but no one would answer.. it is 8pm.. This rating is in part due to yelp and the restaurant. Yelp measured up the location and gave me delivery locations not for my region. If I was the restaurant I would cut ties for grub hub for that reason, Postmates would never. I fault the restaurant for when I realized the failure on the part of the app linking my needs with their service, that the restaurant was to incompetent to answer their phone. I hope they leave yelp and the driver waste three hours at the wrong hotel. STAY AWAY!!! Terrible customer service and below average food. I ordered a calzone and asked for extra sauce three times over the phone. When it was delivered... No sauce and 3/4 of the calzone was EMPTY AND SOGGY.
