The oil from the potatoes and so called orso. From the lamb with orso.

I ordered the lamb on orzo for $29 plus the grub hub fee. The potatoes were on a bed of oil. The orzo did not taste like orzo but rather just warmed up and overcooked orzo with two other types of pasta. I only got two small pieces of lamb with the meal. The salad was also little to be desired since it was two small pieces of feta, two slices of cucumber, a bunch of lettuce with balsamic vinagraitte too drained for my taste and chunks of onions and some tomato. Not ordering again, I rather just take the time to make it at home. I'm giving the two stars because at least they tried.

Went here on a Thursday evening. I split the two-person special with a friend and we loved the small bites of all different foods. We could taste the classic spices and loved the combination of starches mixed with fresh feta. My other friend got the gyro and enjoyed it. To finish dinner we all got different desserts and shared. We tried the rice pudding, baklava, and Galaktoboureko (LOVED). What we loved the most was that Antonio was in the back cooking for us and there was only one worker/waitress to wait on us. It was quaint in all the sense of the word. It certainly wasn't the best Greek food I've ever had BUT it seemed like the charming, slightly greasy food that a person might have while visiting a family in Greece for a normal dinner meal get together.

I looove this bakery! The galaktoboureko is divine! Lemon chicken amazing! All the treats too!

Because of the location, Antonios Cafe can be easily over looked. I happened to stop by because I was craving Greek food. I was not disappointed! The food is phenomenal. Best dolmades I have ever had. After our lunch Antonio brought out dessert, which turns out came with the meal! He sent us on our way with cookies for Valentine's Day. This is a man that you can tell takes extreme pride in his restaurant. Anchorage is blessed to have this hidden gem.

I had a great experience at this little restaurant today. I am originally Greek and I always look for Greek food no matter where I go. So, as I arrived in Anchorage today, I decided to visit. The service was great and the owner speaks Greek. He is very personable and a pleasure to have a conversation with. The food was amazing and the owner made some great suggestions. The dessert was exceptional as well. I totally recommend this place. The food is definitely as close to traditional as you can find in North America.

If you're craving authentic Greek food that tastes somewhere between homemade and restaurant style, then this is the place to go! The gyro sandwich was amazing, moussaka was delectable, and the galaktoboureko was delicious (if you're craving something sweet like baklava but also light, get this!)

I'm pretty sure I want to marry Antonio so I can become his fat, happy wife. I arrived at 11:00 this morning just as he was opening. Since it was early, he was running the whole show. He was my host, server, cook, entertainment and companion. I have to say, Antonio's Cafe EPITOMIZES what I think constitues a perfect dining experience. His approach is unabashedly european... where the focus lay on hospitality and quality, rather than huge portions of mediocre food and impersonal service. I felt as though I had been transported back to Europe to a lovely hole-in-the-wall mom n' pop place that I came to love when I lived abroad. I am absolutely in love. Antonio's only has 4 tables. He could fit more, but he doesn't. He takes pride in delivering really good, homestyle Greek food in an intimate setting. You can order take out, of course, but you'd be missing out on the experience of interacting with this charming man. As I ate my delicious meal of pastisio, greek salad, dolmades and potatoes, I learned more about him and his life that I know about some of my coworkers that I've worked with for years. If you're lucky, maybe you'll hear him singing in the kitchen (he used to be a professional singer.) Antonio's food isn't for gourmands. Although his food is really excellent, there's more going on here than just food. It's about the EXPERIENCE. And if he likes you and you take the time to interact with him, don't be surprised if he forces some freebies on you. He knows you'll be back because you won't forget how heartwarming your meal was. Food for the stomach and the soul. If you're not orginally from Anchorage and you're looking to make connections and have a great meal, eat at Antonio's; its the kind of place that makes you feel like you're HOME.

Tasty Greek food. Try the soups and bread! The sweets are good, too. The cookies taste fabulous.

I had the French dip with clam chowder, and both were hearty and satisfying. My wife had the BLT with chicken and rice soup, which was also very hearty and delicious. The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

I was looking for healthier options for lunch while doing my best to keep my New Year's resolution…read morealthough this may not last long when the pizza or Mexican food cravings kick in. Organic Oasis is located on Spenard Rd. and W. 26th Ave. in a strip mall next to Video Game Depot. The interior dining room is open and spaciously laid out. A stage is set up in one corner of the dining area for live music or open mic nights and is one of several places hosting Spenard Jazz Fest this year. Shelves decorated with antiques for sale as well as artwork and crafts from local artists adorn the entire wall next to the stage. The employees were busy but friendly and greeted me when I walked in. I had just finished a workout earlier before arriving and decided to try one of their Power Smoothies on a whim. I chose the Sea Foam Smoothie with the Moon Mix (green papaya powder, flax seed, chicory, pectin, rice bran, calcium, magnesium, calcium, and L. acidophilus with 72 ionic trace minerals extracted from sea water....sounds very healthy to me!) that promotes cleansing, clarity and weight loss as the health benefits. Not knowing what to expect from such an eclectic list of ingredients, the smoothie itself was delicious and refreshing after the first sip. It certainly lives up to its name as the Sea Foam by its appearance (I think kale was one of the ingredients I missed due to the color). I had the Peanut Butter Conspiracy in a previous visit (peanut butter, banana, apple juice, and spirulina) which was also very good. I can't help but think that the owners are vinyl collectors of classic rock. On a side note, Peanut Butter Conspiracy was the name of a psychedelic pop rock band from the late 60's. Smoothies aside, the food here is also worth trying out. Some of the dishes I had on previous visits include the Lamb Burger (Australian lamb, red onion, lettuce, tomato, feta, Swiss cheese and tomatoes), the Chopped Chicken Salad (tomato, bell peppers, cucumbers, red onions, and sunflower seeds), the Roasted Brussels Sprouts with chipotle sauce, and the Bacon Beef Bleu Burger (organic grass fed beef, avocado, bleu cheese, lettuce, red onions, tomato, mayo, and uncured turkey bacon). They offer delivery through DoorDash and a website to order online for pick-up. This is a good option for healthy meals but we'll see if I can actually stick to my New Year's resolution.

We were visiting the University of Alaska Anchorage June 26th and needed lunch before heading out…read moreof town. Organic Oasis had some great reviews and the two in my party were semi-vegetarians. There were 6 other people in the room. The menu was well laid out and had great options for the meat challenged. We ordered our lunch at 1130. We were served water and then we waited... and waited. At 1230, we debated on leaving when I finally asked the hostess if she knew how much longer it would be, her response was curt and short, "they just started it." We thought it was odd that with so few in the room, the meal was just started nearly an hour after ordering. At 1250 the meal arrived. We had ordered the protein plate, a Thai salad and a turkey sandwich. The protein plate had an unseasoned burger patty that was crispy on the outside and raw on the inside and the steamed vegetables were barely cooked with the carrots still having the peels on them, the Thai plate had zero sauce. The turkey sandwich was exceptional, I opted for no cheese and added avocado. At 115, I went to the counter and the hostess looked very weary and asked what I wanted when the phone rang. She picked it up and immediately hung it back up without answering, then took the receiver off the phone. I said I would like to pay my bill. At this point, the hostess turned to the waiter who had been waiting on us saying, "these are yours." Three meals, only the sandwich was edible, came to $75. Wow. We were hoping that someone was just having a bad day, but seeing other reviews, our experience was similar to others. Will not be going back.
