    Fettuccine Alfredo

Little Italy has been around for years, and we got to try it in July 2023 for my moms birthday. We had reservations for 6 on a Saturday night at 6. We were seated right away. I didn't get to see the main dining room nor the bathrooms. There was a side door propped open and we weren't sure if that was the front or not and my family was sitting right there in front of the door so in we sat. I didn't expect to see they had a cocktail menu, I will try one next time. Around $12-14. They also have a wine room but I don't really drink wine. Our server was an older guy, knew his stuff probly been around awhile. He let us know it might take awhile for the food to come out since they only had two people in the back. I think we waited around 45 minutes maybe. Not sure. I wish they had given us the bread baskets while we were waiting but it came out with our food. The bread was soft and had lots of garlic butter. I did not really like their pizza at all. We got the Margherita pizza. My first reaction was that's not the right pizza they brought lol. It has no slices of fresh mozzarella, it looked shredded. The basil was cooked in with the cheese, the crust was flavorless, the red sauce was flavorful though, and instead of fresh tomatoes it had sun dried tomato pieces. Not what I think of when I say margherita. I however got the fettuccine Alfredo with no protein. It was pretty good. Nothing id crave. Sauce was pretty good. The only pasta really with their Alfredo I think. Other sauces were marinara, bolognese, and white wine. Next time I think I would try something off the Greek side. A little dark in the place but the service was fine. Got boxes and the check in a timely manner. Just the food backed up. I will keep this place on our list and I want to try them again on a week night.

Man, I really wanted to love this place, but I just have serious reservations. Let's start with the positives: 1) Really friendly and attentive service. 2) Cute, small, Mom & Pop atmosphere. Now the negatives: 1) Reservations are pretty much required. 2) Some of the interior is in dire need of renovation. 3) The food is very mediocre and very expensive. It's the #3 that really killed it for us. I got the "Little Italy's Pizza". It was fine. It tasted like above-average delivery pizza...but it was priced at $21.95. At that price-point, it was terrible. I can name a half-dozen places that have better pizza at lower prices. The dough and sauce were just so bland, generic, and uninspired. Abbey got the eggplant parmesan and, it was the exact same story. The sauce was so bland. The dish in general was so under-seasoned. If you come here, definitely make a reservation but...I would recommend most of the other sit-down Italian restaurants in town over this one.

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Anchorage! Very cozy restaurant, Aaron was our server and he did great! The manager seemed on top of everything going on in the front of house and had a very good sense of humor! We loved the meal and will come back soon. You will want to make a reservation to eat here. We have tried to walk in before and they were already full. I would highly recommend the cheese on fire!

Service was friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious. I'm pretty sure I was in cheese heaven tonight. Very low key quiet restaurant. I sat at the bar and the couple next to me polished their plates clean as well. Looking forward to trying something different next time.

I was here once before and the food was good. I had chicken Parmesan. This time -YUCK!!! I got the same thing. The chicken was mostly breading and very overcooked. The pasta and sauce on the side was cold. It was gross. Our server (Tyler) was so odd and uncomfortable. He kept calling my sweet 8 month old granddaughter a criminal. Inappropriate Then he was saying he Haas to have a few drinks before his shift so he could talk to people. Then said he already had a lot f complaints so what's one more. He was awful. Based on this experience I would never go back or recommend it.

For $26 I expected the chicken marsala to be out of this world. It was not. The price on the menu online says $21 and I was charged 26.

This place is an absolute gem!…read more We came here today and everything was phenomenal. The gyro was perfect, the potatoes and salad were delicious, and the custard dessert was out of this world. The service here is outstanding. It feels like getting lunch or dinner from your own Greek Papou. They are incredibly generous and welcoming, which makes the whole experience so special. To the people complaining about the prices: anyone who's been in Alaska knows that sourcing and buying quality food here is expensive for both restaurants and customers. The prices here are VERY fair for the quality and portion sizes you get. Yes, the restaurant is obviously small and tucked away in a little aged strip mall, but that is part of its charm. If you want authentic, incredible Greek food made with love, come here. Tip: If seating is tight, just get it to-go! We will absolutely be back.

As we were driving by, we noticed Antonio's and decided to stop in. From the outside--and even when we first walked in--the place was completely unassuming. To be candid, it looked a little worn around the edges. If you're someone who judges a restaurant by its appearance, you might keep driving. That would be a mistake. What followed was one of the culinary highlights of our entire trip to Alaska. We ordered a couple of items, but the owner insisted we try several additional dishes. As vegetarians, we're often limited when exploring new cuisines, but not here. Every plate that arrived was fresh, flavorful, and made with obvious care. The experience was a revelation. It made me realize that I've probably never had authentic Greek food before. The Greek dishes I've had from chain restaurants, food courts, and grocery store offerings don't even belong in the same conversation. The ingredients tasted fresher, the flavors were more vibrant, and every bite felt like it came from a family recipe rather than a corporate kitchen. What elevated the meal even further was the owner himself. He spent time talking with us, sharing how he ended up in Alaska and telling stories about his journey. It felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home. I've traveled extensively and eaten at restaurants across the country, and I can confidently say Anchorage is fortunate to have a place like this. Antonio's isn't just a restaurant--it's the kind of hidden gem that deserves national attention. Frankly, it belongs on a travel or food television show. If you're in Anchorage, do yourself a favor: ignore appearances, walk through the door, and trust the food.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

Organic Oasis is located on Spenard Rd. and W. 26th Ave. in a strip mall next to Video Game Depot. The interior dining room is open and spaciously laid out. A stage is set up in one corner of the dining area for live music or open mic nights and is one of several places hosting Spenard Jazz Fest this year. Shelves decorated with antiques for sale as well as artwork and crafts from local artists adorn the entire wall next to the stage. The employees were busy but friendly and greeted me when I walked in. I had just finished a workout earlier before arriving and decided to try one of their Power Smoothies on a whim. I chose the Sea Foam Smoothie with the Moon Mix (green papaya powder, flax seed, chicory, pectin, rice bran, calcium, magnesium, calcium, and L. acidophilus with 72 ionic trace minerals extracted from sea water....sounds very healthy to me!) that promotes cleansing, clarity and weight loss as the health benefits. Not knowing what to expect from such an eclectic list of ingredients, the smoothie itself was delicious and refreshing after the first sip. It certainly lives up to its name as the Sea Foam by its appearance (I think kale was one of the ingredients I missed due to the color). I had the Peanut Butter Conspiracy in a previous visit (peanut butter, banana, apple juice, and spirulina) which was also very good. I can't help but think that the owners are vinyl collectors of classic rock. On a side note, Peanut Butter Conspiracy was the name of a psychedelic pop rock band from the late 60's. Smoothies aside, the food here is also worth trying out. Some of the dishes I had on previous visits include the Lamb Burger (Australian lamb, red onion, lettuce, tomato, feta, Swiss cheese and tomatoes), the Chopped Chicken Salad (tomato, bell peppers, cucumbers, red onions, and sunflower seeds), the Roasted Brussels Sprouts with chipotle sauce, and the Bacon Beef Bleu Burger (organic grass fed beef, avocado, bleu cheese, lettuce, red onions, tomato, mayo, and uncured turkey bacon). They offer delivery through DoorDash and a website to order online for pick-up. This is a good option for healthy meals but we'll see if I can actually stick to my New Year's resolution.

Organic Oasis had some great reviews and the two in my party were semi-vegetarians. There were 6 other people in the room. The menu was well laid out and had great options for the meat challenged. We ordered our lunch at 1130. We were served water and then we waited... and waited. At 1230, we debated on leaving when I finally asked the hostess if she knew how much longer it would be, her response was curt and short, "they just started it." We thought it was odd that with so few in the room, the meal was just started nearly an hour after ordering. At 1250 the meal arrived. We had ordered the protein plate, a Thai salad and a turkey sandwich. The protein plate had an unseasoned burger patty that was crispy on the outside and raw on the inside and the steamed vegetables were barely cooked with the carrots still having the peels on them, the Thai plate had zero sauce. The turkey sandwich was exceptional, I opted for no cheese and added avocado. At 115, I went to the counter and the hostess looked very weary and asked what I wanted when the phone rang. She picked it up and immediately hung it back up without answering, then took the receiver off the phone. I said I would like to pay my bill. At this point, the hostess turned to the waiter who had been waiting on us saying, "these are yours." Three meals, only the sandwich was edible, came to $75. Wow. We were hoping that someone was just having a bad day, but seeing other reviews, our experience was similar to others. Will not be going back.
