WOW. I had the Black Grouper Plicata, and it was hands down the best seafood dish I've ever eaten--perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a reminder of why fresh, well-prepared seafood is unbeatable. Ugh I kind of hate writing this review because we've loved Antonio's downstairs for years. When they announced that they'd been bought, the first thing that jumped out was that I hoped the market wouldn't change that much. Well, sigh, it definitely has. I can no longer run over for produce or some proteins for dinner. I happily supported them over Publix for years. The shelving areas have been cut in half. The wine cooler is no more (granted it hasn't cooled properly in quite awhile). One of the best parts of Antonio's downstairs was being able to grab a bottle of reasonably priced wine with the $5 cork fee but the Prosecco we've enjoyed for years has increased over $5 a bottle plus that cork fee... not the deal we've had in the past. They did add a happy hour downstairs... that ends at 5pm. Catering to retirees maybe? The restaurant space is more open due to the downsizing of the market. The service is not the same though most of the staff seems happy to be there. I know things can't stay the same forever but super bummed about this one. I guess I should just be grateful for the years we had with the original. read more

Antonio's is THE Italian restaurant to go to in Central Florida. The cozy atmosphere, fantastic service, delicious food, nice view/seating, and marketplace/bakery...is everything you could want when you're dining out. Easily accessible parking lot with signage that states which entrance is for the bakery vs main door. There is a different menu for the dining area downstairs vs the restaurant upstairs. There are different dining sections upstairs, I was seated in the bar section. My party of 3 had a table next to the window with a nice view of Lake Lily. We did the happy hour and ordered an insane amount of food (prices and portion sizes were really good). Our server, Dani, was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Dani nailed our drinks. She recommended the Apulia Breeze, it was perfectly balanced and was a very refreshing drink to complement all the fried happy hour items we ordered! She also makes a mean old-fashioned. We ordered: Calamari, 2x sweet n spicy chicken tenders, potatoes soffocato, spicy chicken parm sliders, and the goat cheese artichoke. Bread and oil for the table. Everything was SOOO delicious. The calamari and bread was a crowdpleaser. The calamari was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and had a nice crunch. We fawned over the bread and oil, not a single crumb of it was left after the meal. I really enjoyed the chicken tenders and goat cheese artichoke. My friend said she could eat a whole other plate of the spicy chicken parm sliders. The potatoes soffocato (potato wedges) were huge. Don't let the liquid Gorgonzola sauce for it scare you off, it gave the wedges a good bite and flavor without being overly funky. Overall, would 100% come back to Antonio's and request for Dani to be my server. She kept my drink filled and even ran my friend's credit card down to us in the marketplace when Dani realized she had left it on the table. For under $30 a person, we practically rolled ourselves downstairs to the marketplace and ordered dessert to go (Oreo cheesecake, tiramisu, and cannoli), then we finished off the night walking off the food around Lake Lily. I recently attended a birthday dinner at Antonio's with a group of around 10 guests. This was my first time dining here. I arrived shortly after the rest of the party, who had already placed their drink and entrée orders. Prior to my arrival, my wife mentioned that the staff seemed somewhat irritated with our group. I didn't think much of it initially, but after arriving, I began to notice the same tone. After getting settled, I waited a few minutes to place my order. When our server entered the private dining area to clear plates, I attempted to get his attention. As he was about to leave, I was finally able to speak with him and asked to order a cocktail and entrée. He responded that my wife had already ordered for me, which was unexpected, as I had planned to order for myself. When I clarified and requested the pappardelle bolognese instead, his response felt dismissive and noticeably unprofessional. That said, the food was excellent across the board. The lobster ravioli was outstanding, the bolognese was very well prepared, and the appetizer was a highlight for the table. Unfortunately, the service continued to feel rushed and somewhat strained as the evening went on. There were multiple reminders about closing out the check and preparing the room for the next party, which made the experience feel less welcoming than expected. Antonio's clearly delivers when it comes to food quality, but the service fell short of the standard the cuisine reflects. This Italian Restorante has fine dining upstairs and a fabulous restaurant downstairs. The downstairs restaurant isn't just pizza, OH NO! They have sit down dining and besides pizza, they offer an array of delectable dishes. They have wines galore! They have a Deli! The ambiance of the downstairs restaurant is so very charming. When I first walked in the door, the wonderful aroma of food was amazing. You just wanted to take pause, and inhale the aroma. Now, for Antonio's Restorante fine dining upstairs, where we dined. The Ambiance is so charming and you automatically feel so comfortable. Very Italian, but at the same time, cozy, warm and relaxing. They have a beautiful bar area with a lounge. Wow, the bar stools are well padded, seat and back with real soft material ( not vinyl). They have an elevator to transport you to the upstairs restaurant instead of taking the stairs. Everyone we came in contact with was charming, kind and very welcoming. You will see on my pictures that they have a covered outside dining area that is very pleasant, and over looks a lake. Now, for the best part of my review is the food! First of all, I want to commend the Chef, the Sous Chef and all others who were involved with preparing and presenting us with a meal to always remember! Thank you so much! My husband had one of the Chefs specials, "Carne", which is a wood grilled 16 oz Black Angus Ribeye with Caramelized Gorgonzola, roasted mushroom veal glacé and whipped potatoes. Oh my goodness, he let me taste his and my taste buds were doing a major happy dance! I ordered the Braised Lamb Shank with sweet pea Parmesan Risotto. I thought I died and went to fabulous food heaven LOL! The presentation of this food was a site to behold! For dessert, among others, they offered a seasonal Apple Spice Tiramisu that was very light and luscious to say the least. My husband and I have decided to put this fabulous restaurant at the top of our list. Oh, I must mention that the Chef offers delicious specials daily, unlike many restaurants where they serve the same food day in and day out. Fleming's Steakhouse was our top favorite, but now they're in second place! If you enjoy Italian and fine dining, please give Antonio's a try, I guarantee you will return again and again. I was craving chicken piccata and I decided to treat myself for my birthday. I have had it here before and knew it was excellent and tonight did not disappoint. Tender chicken expertly flavored and plenty of capers. I had mine with angel hair pasta which is exactly what I was craving. The lemon butter sauce was so good I used it for my bread instead of the seasoned oil they served for dipping, though that was delicious too. The garlic wasn't cooked out enough to mellow the flavor. No parsley garnish. Nothing. Someone on the chef side and management needs to conduct a quality check as a blind order. Might be surprised. Nothing but amazing things to say about this place. I sat at the bar and the bartender Danny was fantastic! She had great food recommendations ( shrimp scampi and the meatballs) both of those items were 10 out of 10 - shrimp scampi was my favorite of the two. Three friends celebrated a birthday lunch today upstairs and had a delightful time. The service was attentive though disinterested. My companions loved their food but I was disappointed in my dish. I ordered the parpadelle with salmon and peas with a brandy mascarpone cream sauce. The sauce was the reason I ordered it. I don't know if the sauce separated on the hot noodles or what but there was DEFINITELY no marscapone or cream or brandy in sight. It was basically an oily coating. I wasn't going to send it back and ruin the occasion so I ate a lot of it but was sad that the dish was subpar. This is the first time I ever have not been happy at Antonio's. The famed upstairs Italian restaurant. I've always driven by it... always wondered what magic Italian cuisine it beheld... and I FINALLY got the chance to experience this place on one impromptu Monday date night. It was surprisingly not as busy as I thought it would be... but as is Monday night at any restaurant. The staff explained to us that the weekends are usually SLAMMED and this was usual for a Monday night. Speaking of the staff, they are incredibly kind and gave some great recommendations for our entrees. We were almost SOLD on getting some steaks as an entree since they cook them in a pretty unique way, but we came to an Italian restaurant and definitely wanted pasta. We started off with an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms. I personally wasn't too impressed with this. The tomato sauce used in it vaguely reminded me of Ragu. The stuffing in the mushroom was great though! What really blew us away though were the pasta entrees we had. I could drink the sauce that came with the lobster ravioli!! Food was very good at Antonio's and they served huge portions. We went here for an event and the service was top not h. We got calamari for appetizer and it was so good, the seasoning was perfect and so crispy. For the main course, I enjoyed the veal mozzarella with pasta marinara. The veal was nice and tender. The dessert was also my favorite which was the tiramisu. It was so good. The ambiance is nice and quiet. They have a pizza and wine bar on the first floor and the restaurant was at the second floor. The reason why I gave it a four star was because the server missed some of our orders and requests. But other than that, I will come back and try another option in their menu. read more

Antonio's used to make one of my favorite dishes, the Beef short rib in BBQ sauce with cheddar polenta. My wife's favorite dish the lobster ravioli. We went today for the first time in a while, my beef short rib recipe was changed and it was a shell of its former self. The dish lacked flavor and honestly just really disappointed me. FINALLY! I've finally found an Italian Restaurant in this state that can hold up against any NYC Italian restaurant, as I am from NJ and worked in NYC for years, I can vouch that this place is the real deal. Whether you want a nice upscale evening or a casual experience they can offer you both, yes BOTH! Because they have 2 restaurants in one building! The classic fine dining trattoria upstairs offers everything from classic pasta dishes like a pappardelle Bolognese to fresh seafood and even black angus steaks, which are cooked over an open fire & that only positively adds to the aromas of the building (it is one of the best steaks you'll ever eat btw, go for the NY Strip, you won't be disappointed) it really feels like everything is cooked fresh a la minute But honestly, the real winner for me (and that's saying alot) is the pizza... downstairs is a wonderful little cafe that serves up the most bangin' pizza I've had since I moved down here a few years back, literally the only pizza place in central FL I've tried that I would say is as close to back home as possible The fact that they have been around for 30 something years is a testament to the owner as well as the managers and staff that operate this wonderful little treasure oh almost forgot, if you like wine, they got you covered with hundreds of wines to choose from downstairs in their cafe, which is also a market that has nothing but awesome gourmet Italian products. they also have a full bar upstairs that has a delightful cocktail menu, I like cocktails, so I was pleased with their menu It's hard to describe all the details and nuances of Antonio's so just come by and try it out for yourself one day. Easy solid five. While I generally prefer the casual cafe there's something special about the pretense of the restaurant upstairs for special occasions. Everything's always been excellent. Consistently exemplary hospitality. Love the raviolis. The artichoke chicken's somewhat elegant and delicious. The beautiful bread they bring out. And the wood fired pizzas are nice. I look forward to those. I don't visit them as often as I should because honestly, they can be busy; deservedly so. It's also not an easy plaza to navigate and parking can be tight. This review refers to the downstairs portion of the restaurant. First come first serve, no resys accepted. More casual and less expensive than upstairs. Different menu also. Our food was excellent and Kevin took great care of us! Wine by the glass is available along with all the usual Italian food selections. The ambiance is like a cozy Italian market. Nice decor and lots of prepackaged italian delights available for purchase. Only complaint is no side salads available with your dinner, but 2 people can easily split an entree size salad, which is what we ended up doing. I would return in the future. read more

Made reservations for 5:45. Arrived. Hostess brought us to a booth. I currently have difficulty walking, use a cane, have a severe hip issue, and cannot get in and out of a booth. Told the hostess I cannot sit at the booth due to hip issues. The hostess asked if I specified that in the reservation. I said no. She said she doesn't have another place for us to sit. There were many tables available that were not occupied. Most of the restaurant is tables and only one table was occupied. I was told these tables were reserved for people who requested a table. I was told there is no where else to sit us. Left. Went downstairs to ask for the owner. The host downstairs went up to see what he could do to get us a table upstairs. Downstairs and Upstairs are 2 different restaurants with different kitchens. He came back and said no room available upstairs. He invited us to eat downstairs (different menu, casual ambiance) and we did as we were hungry and didn't want to search for a restaurant on a Saturday night. Downstairs was very accommodating and nice to us. It was very disheartening to experience this at Antonio's Upstairs. We used to enjoy this restaurant and over the years we never were seated at a booth as the restaurant is mostly tables.
