It took maybe 5 min for them to prepare it and it looked and tasted DIVINE. I wasn't going to finish it all but I couldn't help it. I went back to work and almost fell asleep. The seasonings are on point and the shrimp are in no way skimpy. They're nice large and plump. Left a review here years ago and I just wanted to come back and update it to say it's still amazing and still my favorite. I've moved further from the location and it is the one place that I'm willing to drive to. The seafood is always fresh and the size of the crabs is always worth the price. We ordered the Dungeness crab platter (2lbs) 15 shrimp, 2 corn, and potatoes, and between the 3 if us we left stuffed and happy, and still had more left. The way they cook the crab makes the shells soft enough to break with your hands, thiugh the tools are useful to get every last bit! The outside of the place may raise some questions in your head, but believe me, the food is delicious. The staff are nice and facilitating. As some mention it is predominantly a take out place as the seating area is small and compact. If you call ahead and place your order you'll be better off. The crab how to dry rub sprinkled over the top and however they could get it also soaked in the flavor. It was very good I even asked if they make their own dry rub which they do. The crab is cooked so perfectly I did not need any special tools to get into it. No crackers, no Fork, no knife. I could easily crack the leg and pulling a tire chunk of meat out of it. You think the koala be difficult to get into possible to apply a little pressure with my thumb and bust it right open. The flavor was so good! And so rich, anytime you crack some shell water and flavor we just pour out of it. It was really delicious! Another review said this is mostly a takeout place and this is mostly true. My husband and I had carry out from Mad Crab for dinner on a Saturday. We called in our order. Just a little tip, they are very popular on the weekend. We called our order in just after 4 and they sold out not too long after that. I recommend calling in your order and picking up. I think our order took about 45 minutes to be ready. When we arrived, we waited just a couple minutes. The staff was helpful and friendly. We decided to get some of their house made juices. I got a pineapple juice which I took home and added vodka. Yum!! We got a side of corn nuggets which were delicious. I got the steamed shrimp combo (10 shrimp). It was so flavorful and very filling- comes with corn, potatoes, and egg. Definitely a messy meal so make sure you are sitting down and have plenty of napkins. My husband got the crawfish combo. He also enjoyed his meal. Soooo good. We're so glad we made the trip out here to try this place out. The food was AMAZING but for management/staff was even better. I can tell they take pride in what they do, and they go out of your way to make you feel at home. We got the snow crab shrimp combo. The garlic shrimp was also super yummy! I really want to come back before we fly back home. I heard they have really good banana pudding, but you have to come early as they run out. They recently were nationally recognized as a minority restaurant. The eating area has been reduced because of COVID and they mostly do take out and the major food delivery services.
