I visited Antonio's during Magical Dining Month last year. This is a nice restaurant with a cafe on the first floor and fine dining upstairs. For Magical Dining, they served a 3 course meal with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I opted for the calamari, the New York strip with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables, and a tiramisu for dessert. The 3 course meal was absolutely delicious. The calamari was fresh and lightly breaded, the steak was the perfect medium rare and very well seasoned. The tiramisu was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. My party thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Antonio's is wonderful and I would definitely return to try their regular menu. read more

I've dined here several times and have enjoyed my meals in the past but my most recent experience fell far short. First, a dish of oil was served to accompany the bread but unfortunately it did not seem to be olive oil. I don't know what it was. I ordered the rosemary chicken as my entree however there was not even a hint of rosemary. It tasted more like smoked chicken. I wouldn't order it again and at this point I am reluctant to return. read more

We had a great time here. We did have an initial question of where to go for dinner, but the Yelp reviews explained it well. We were greeted and seated quickly, we made a reservation and they honored the time. We had every part of our meal timed perfectly. Our waitress was very competent and helpful. We received a visit from Greg who seems to run things. Everything is very smooth here, a well oiled machine. I started with a 1786 martini which was an appropriate pour and very tasty. It was followed by some happy hour specials that were all delicious. A great restaurant option in the area, I will return for lunch. read more

I got the spinach and cheese ravioli with chicken and my boyfriend got the chicken piccata and they were both AMAZING!! The upstairs is a nice, cozy, with a touch of fancy cuisine ambiance and the service was quick, really nice and always kept us taken care of. They have everything under the sun Italian wise available and they are part of the magical dining circuit which makes it also a wonderful deal if you wanted to make a whole event of it! Feb 10, 2023-Second visit to Antonio's since Mother's Day last year and this was a joy also. Actually came for the Knob Creek Bourbon promo downstairs at the market and decided to sit outside and have a bite. Was pleasantly attended to by Samuel and we ordered a 14" Fig and Gorgonzola pizza to share with with prosciutto, arugula and caramelized onions with a balsamic drizzle on top. Delish and saved 1/2 for lunch the next day. Also enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio and Chianti which recalled our trip to a vineyard in Tuscany and learning about Sangiovese grapes. Another hidden gem in Orlando/Maitland. When you walk into this Italian restaurant, you are just in a marketplace with a small place to eat but when you want to have fine Italian dining, you take a twilight zone elevator onto the second floor where you walk into a bar and restaurant that is fancy enough for any occasion. I enjoyed the contrast. The service was exceptional as the waitress took the time to explain the menu and any specials. She also paired our meals with the right wine and everything was a reasonable price. We ordered several entrees but I tried the chicken marsala and the lobster. The chicken marsala was perfectly cooked and presented. Colorful, savory, and a juicy chicken. The lobster ravioli was decadent and the bread and olive oil dip was delicious. We dined at the upstairs restaurant at Antonio's. Courtesy abounds here. From the host, to the waiter, to the busboy, the kindness and friendliness are well established. This was a great thing to be treated this way. And now for the food. We started with the fried calamari to share. It was plentiful, but the calamari were a bit overdone and chewy. I had the fish special (haddock tonight) which was very flavorful. The accompanying starch was very good. My husband had the salmon. It was good and came with mashed potatoes and veggies which were also good. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was wonderful. Last minute change of plans had us enjoying dinner at Antonio's last night. Our favorite evenings out is when we eat, side by side, at the bar and last night was no exception. Arrived about 5:15 to only one other couple in the bar and fortunately the bar staffed and stocked very well. We started off by enjoying Solena Pinot Noir and Extremely dirty martini's - and they were ordered very VERY dirty. Both were great as always. Since we didn't want a traditional heavy dinner, we ordered Calamari, Bruschetta, and Burrata. . . all three were amazing. While the drinks and apps were perfect, what really was amazing was the Bartenders on staff. . . Excellent meatball Parmesan sub. The meatballs were big and smothered in marinara and mozzarella. A true delight. The small pizza was almost New York worthy and disappeared (was eaten) in a second. Magical Dining - Tried a new place tonight (to us) and loved it. Antonio's in Maitland has been in Orlando almost 30 years. Frank was our server and was incredible at detailing their dishes and how they are prepared. It made the experience so much nicer. A lovely spur of the moment date night. We had the smoked wild salmon appetizer (very fresh on toast with a tasty dill spread), calamari (they do this in house but didn't love it - a little too greasy and over breaded), lobster ravioli (holy heavens - this buttery sherry sauce - BEST ever - could have both done this this - wow), swordfish (huge portion and cut in a way that it was a juicy fish vs a steak - the toppings were delicious), the desserts were homemade - the mousse was very rich and sweet and the tiramisu was a huge semi-sweet gorgeous slice of heaven. We ate at the upstairs restaurant. The first floor is more of a cafe nooked insided a Italian deli of sorts. We knew right when we sat down we chose the right place when we could smell amazing dishes everywhere. We opted for the magical dining because we couldn't resist the excellent options. Every bite had so much flavor you just wanted to eat really slow and savor everything. We started with drinks. My espresso martini was one of the best I've had... on the stronger side. They brought out home cooked warm bread. For my appetizer I got the fried calamari. It was so crunchy and perfectly cooked. For my entree I got the Lobster ravioli. The portion is pretty small but the flavor is so savoring you will enjoy every single bite. My fiancé has serious dairy and wheat allergies and they were amazing with him. They went above and beyond to make him a dish he could enjoy and the chef even whipped up a sauce for his swordfish so it wouldn't be bare. It felt like both our birthdays to be honest. Lastly we got the Tiramasu for dessert and it is the best I've ever had. The flavor was delicate... not overwhelming and it was pretty massive. Overall incredible experience. There should be a Yelp for the downstairs. Holy moly, I paid for a Panera/airport quality sandwich for $15. When I go to an Italian deli, I was a real sandwich. It should be $12-15 and fresh bread, full and huge, TWO MEALS. This sandwich lasted me 3 minutes. I asked what was recommended, she said Balsamic Chicken Sandwich. I was thinking Chicken Parm, lets go with what they said. This was so sad of a sandwich. A third of a chicken breast, well cooked. Soft cheap bread. Goat cheese, arugula, balsamic were all fine. I was left with half the store bought ciabatta (not freshly baked) as my bread side. So sad. Avoid it. Pasta salad $2 came as a side. I don't know they have it integrated into the cost. It was actually the best part of the meal. No frills. Nothing to right home about, but well seasoned and well cooked pasta. read more

Updating this review based on my experience in the upstairs bar area. Still 5 stars, but I've got some new favorite dishes based on the bar menu! Be sure to order multiple portions of the dates. They are filled with goat cheese, wrapped in perfectly cooked bacon, and drizzled with balsamic glaze. It is out of this world and you'll want more almost immediately. Hence the suggestion to order many portions. Once you've finished stuffing your face with bacon-wrapped dates, you'll want the steak tips which come sitting over a creamy truffle sauce. It also comes with two buttered, crusty toasts. The last thing that is worth a try is the calamari. It's never frozen from Lombardi's. There is no chewiness, and it tastes so fresh. The food isn't remotely close to Italian cuisine. Their pomodoro sauce is so tangy you wouldn't want to use bread to clean your plate. For the price and location, I expect way more. There was so much oil used in my salty dish of chicken tenders yadda, yadda that came out with fettuccine and not penne. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs was simply awful. For the host to say, "you'll never go back to Nonna's after you try our food", was an obvious example of an individual that clearly has never had Italian food. Do not recommend at all. It was early evening, dark already, and we could not find the place we were looking for, but the restaurant we wanted was on the top floor of a building locked up tight. On the first floor was Antonio's, so we decided to give it a try. We entered a busy hustling place that was basically a grocery store with tables to dine upon. Pretty classy, like you might find in Italy. Mom and pop in nature, small, intimate, great menu, exhausted wait staff and good food. It really is a deli, rather than a grocery store, but hope you get the idea of a lot of bottles and boxes on shelves along with wine and olive oils for sale. And so it was. We split s house salad with Italian dressing (natch!) and it was more than enough for the two of us. Remember salad size when you are the only one having a salad, and if it is with a main course, reconsider or ask for a smaller size. Wife did like the Cheese Ravioli, which she would not share. That is a clear signal that she liked it...a lot. I went for the Pork Marsala and although I usually don't like Marsala, this dish was so lightly wined that it was great to my taste. The menu was pretty much what you would expect in an Italian restaurant, with pastas, salads, entrees of chicken, shrimp, lamb, beef and veal. They do have an oak wood grill and the steaks and salmon we saw on their way to tables looked good. A very nice experience in Maitland. Put it on your list. read more

Was informed by Matt who is apparently the manager that they were "booked up" and the only place for a single diner at a restaurant with plenty of seemingly open tables was at the bar. What it appeared to be was blatant discrimination towards a single diner on a Saturday night. Such disgusting behavior towards a patron. I turned around, walked out and will not return. I've been at this restaurant a few times now, for different occasions. First, this restaurant is a much higher end restaurant, so make sure to dress the part for it. The first time I was here was for a company gathering. My company reserved their private room for lunch and I believe they opened just for us. We had the whole place to ourselves and the service was on point. All formal dining etiquette was in place. Another time I was here was a lunch with a few coworkers for a special occasion. It was a nice lunch and service again was on point. One more time I came here was with my parents and girlfriend to have a nice meal together for their Magical dining special. Hubby and I really like this restaurant. Full disclosure, though: we have only eaten at the downstairs restaurant for lunch because we only go when we happen to be in Maitland during the day. Their pizza specials are absolutely awesome. All their appetizers are yummy, and we've tried them all. I also really like the salmon. And, of course, the restaurant is in the middle of their gourmet shop, so the wine choices are excellent. We love the food, the shop, and the service is always prompt. Highly recommend. read more

Came here because of magical dining in order to try the place out. Not a bad experience, but not really a memorable one either. For appetizers, I liked the eggplant caprese and their smoked salmon crostinis. I did not care for the fried artichoke with the goat cheese that I ordered separate from the set menu. It was lackluster, heavy and boring. Maybe drizzle on some balsamic glaze to give it a sweet contrast? Or even some honey. My main was the lobster ravioli with sherry cream. I was really looking forward to this one but it was a big miss. The texture and content was fine. But the sauce was so heavy on the sherry that it was nauseating. I could see how it could be good though. The ravioli was not filling at all. No sides. No bread. My guest had the NY strip at a medium rare. It was ok, nothing great, kind of chewy. I liked their whipped mash. Their veggies were over cooked where it was really soft but I didn't mind it. For dessert, we had the coconut cake and tiramisu. The desserts were the highlights!!! I don't even like coconut but I enjoyed the dish and the tiramisu was perfect. One of the best I've personally ever had. I may be weird for doing it, but if you mix the two and take a bite together, it's SO delicious! I highly recommended these two haha. Our server's service was standard. Wasn't wearing his mask properly which made me and my guest uncomfortable. He was a little lacking in his knowledge for the steaks. By far one of the best restaurants in Maitland or even Orange County. The pizza is phenomenal. Our server Tracy was outstanding and very personable. We enjoyed chatting with other customers who were at nearby tables outdoors as well. The market is definitely a bonus. They carry some of the greatest cheeses, desserts, liquors, and other novelty items that you can not find elsewhere. Started with the bruschetta that was very tasty. The pasta e fagioli was a bit too thick, I thought, with a bit of a bite but quite a large portion. We separately ordered veal Marsala and linguine scampi. Was told the veal was very good and I can say the same for the scampi. Scampi was garlicky, as expected, but not overly so as others that I have had at other restaurants. We were both full from dinner so no dessert was partaken of. However, we did purchase some chocolate and hazelnut biscotti in the downstairs market and enjoyed later. Service was professional and non rushed.
