Chicago "tavern" style pizza . SERVICE: Nice people great service. Fast.. ATMOSPHERE: Cute little hole in wall atmosphere like you'd see in Italy. Dining inside and outside. Across from the Memorial Park Amphitheater. FOOD: I've never heard of Chicago "Tavern style" pizza. I'm used to the typical Chicago deep dish square pies. This pie was sold as whole pies and by the slice. Slices are cut like a traditional round pizza. I'm not a fan of the new designer, thin crust, pizzas, and that's what this pizza appears to be. Pizza sauce was tasty. Pepperoni could've been a bit spicier for my liking and the crust was a bit chewy. BOTTOM LINE: As always with all my reviews, the bottom line comes down to the "customer so what". Would I come back? Probably not. Not because the pizza wasn't OK but because this type of pizza is not my favorite style of pizza. If you think you'd like to try and learn what Chicago "Tavern style" pizza is like, check it out. Took my hubby last night he's never been here and I told him I liked this place..I had meatballs they were like warm, when hot they r delish. He had meatball sub "it was ok" as for wine there were no prices on menu.. his fault I would have asked but 7.5 $ and he said it's normal to be 3 fingers this was two fingers and he wasn't happy about such a small amount for 7.5$. With the 10,50 sub which was fine, server asked fries or chips.. he asked what else can I have she said fries or chips. I said what else if you can't eat that if you have diabetes? She said you wouldn't be eating a meatball sub if you had diabetes. I was thinking little snip! Anyway took the chips to give to homeless. Then we get the check we asked for from another server cute sweet blonde. I told her disappointed nothing else offered with sub he wouldn't eat potato anything. She said you could have had salad and seemed surprised it wasn't offered. Anyway the blonde was lovely the other gal is the reason he said he will never go back as well as bad wine pour. An absolute disgrace with respect to passing themselves off as a Chicago restaurant. When I first moved here some years ago, the owners were actually from Chicago. I went there a lot, got to know them. Food was authentic, the real deal. It has changed hands several times over the years, and the food has suffered as a result. It's obvious the current owners have likely never even been to the Chicago area. They need to take the word "Chicago" out of their name. What they now offer is not representative of good Chicago food...not even close. Like too much of the food in this area, it's just bland (why I rarely eat out here anymore). Their only connection to Chicago is the decor...remnants from the original owners. I gave up on their pizza years ago; mediocre in contrast to a real Windy City tavern pizza. I recently got a hot dog and what they pass off for an "Italian Beef." Hot dog *not* Vienna (unless you ask for one...not the case in the past), not on a sesame seed bun and served with a lousy jar type pickle instead of relish. For $10 the "Beef" is a disaster. Only a few small pieces of tasteless rawhide (see photo). Worst I've ever had anywhere. Mind you, I stopped by in mid afternoon (in mid Sept), and they only had one other customer...so they were not so busy they didn't have time to do it right. When they *are* busy, service can be lousy, too. They have no business passing themselves off as a Chicago restaurant. They need to change the name and move on. read more

First time trying Chicago Tavern Style Pizza! Really lovely restaurant that makes you feel at home right away with both indoor and outside seating. I can't say enough about the lovely ladies working there as the customer service was so warm, welcoming and attentive. Really a special place to check out if you're in the area. Will say the sauce is on the sweeter side so be forewarned if that's not your thing but everything was fresh and clearly made with love. read more

We love Pusateri's. It has the best Chicago dogs. We prefer the natural casing and there aren't many places that serve it. The fries are great. We don't have to ask to have them crispy because they come that way. We had a small pepperoni pizza after the hot dogs because we were still hungry. Their pizzas are great. I love their tomato sauce because it doesn't have the usual tomato taste. It has a sweetness to it. The antipasto salad has a lot of meat and cheese. When we brought our kids and grandkids there a while ago there was plenty of salad to share along with our meal. The Italian beef sandwich is very good. It's the same as their restaurant in Chicago. Wow was I shocked. My husband and I are from Fort Lauderdale originally and you could say we are pizza snobs. We have tried it all. This was such a pleasant surprise. Such a unique pizza!!! It was absolutely delicious. The cheese, the sauce, the crust, the sausage. It was like no pizza we've tried before. Definitely recommend. The atmosphere was relaxing and just what we needed. Under a tiki hut with fans blowing & Jimmy Buffet music. What a perfect night. We would travel 30 minutes to get some pizza here again soon. Our waitress was Elise and she was incredible. Don't waste your time here, they don't want your patronage. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it in - but won't be going back... We walked in and were told to seat ourselves, so we did. We had 2 toddlers/babies with us and they didn't mention or offer a high chair, which is fine, we figured we'd ask the server, but about 10 minutes passed and we still hadn't been given menus, gotten any drinks, or even been acknowledged at all by any employee other then the hostess who originally told us to seat ourselves. A few minutes after that, some other people came in and were also told to seat themselves, however they were served immediately, when plenty of employees had walked right by us several times - for the last 15 minutes - and completely ignored us, knowing we had young children with us. It wasn't even bad service, it was completely non-existent service. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time, they are clearly not interested in new customers. Wish I could give zero stars like the zero service they gave me. read more

The onion rings were perfect. No beer on tap only bottled beer. I opted for the pizza with mushrooms and cheese. I give it a 2 of of five. The pie was good and hot however the cheese was not very lacking in flavor. The wife and I went in for lunch and what a wonderful mom and pop place. We got the sausage pizza and it was really good. We also got the breaded chicken rigatoni Alfredo which I tried a bite and it was ok to me but the wife loved it. Super cool staff really nice and professional. The rating depends on your taste. The pizza sauce is sweet. If sugary sweet pizza sauce is your thing, then you will love it. Sweet sauce is great for a ham and pineapple pizza; not an olive and mushroom pizza. The garlic bread is good. I'd like to come back and try the hot dog and Italian sandwich. The tiki hut in the back is cute. It confused another potential patron because they walked out saying they thought it was a bar. I will say that the prices are more than reasonable. read more

We walked in about 6 PM yesterday and we came from the back and I went into the front to let them know that we were there. There was nobody in the restaurant, yes, the weather was bad. The two waitresses was sitting at the table talking and on their phone and I told them that we were taking a table for three in the back. They didn't respond and it took almost 15 minutes for them to handover the menus. This review is not necessarily about the food. It's more of the service and the attitude that we received. We ordered two piña coladas, and my husband ordered a Diet Coke. When we receive the two drinks, we tasted it and it tasted like it was something in it almost chemically. We called the other waitress over by mistake cause somebody else had comes in and she said she would get our waitress. That took about 10 minutes for her to come to our table and our order was still not taken. When we shared with our disappointment in the drinks, her response was she would take one back and credit it, but she would not take the other one back and recommended that I take a Coke. I was not gonna pay the price that the drink cost for a Diet Coke. I kept my drink. We have been going to this restaurant for about a year now and never have had any issues. We ordered two small pizzas and my husband ordered a sandwich. The sandwich was fine, but the pizza was almost like it was nuked. It definitely was not put in an oven because the bread was spongy uncooked. We called the waitress over and she told us that how she made it all the time. That is not the case. I noticed that the gentleman were not in the kitchen cooking and I'm serious when I say the pizza tasted like microwave. By the way, she refused to put it back in the oven because they probably was not an oven to cook it. The attitude was terrible. The food was just as bad. It could've been an off night, but with that attitude, we don't need to be spoken down to. Shame on those ladies who don't understand what customer service is about. read more

Our dining experience at pusateri's was very very good the salad was fresh and crisp and ice cold the pizza was right out of the oven and delicious you could tell it was homemade. The service was very very good our appetizers or delicious and served shortly after our order. All in all I would recommend pusateris if you're in the area make sure you stop in can't go wrong in the Stuart area. Not to mention our server was very pleasant totally overwhelmed because they were short staffed but she still managed to make sure we were served perfectly on time and without feeling rushed thank you for hiring such wonderful staff. read more

Tried this place for carry out during the shelter in place and I can say it's pretty average which is good in my book. Pizzas are pretty large in size, variety of toppings, and a medium thin crust. Doughy instead of crispy but all around a solid pizza. We also got a cauliflower and gluten free crust pizzas and vote for the gluten free crust. I'm deducting stars because this place didn't blow me away and being from Chicago, can't say this resembles Chicago pizza albeit thin crust. They also didn't deliver to our area. Price was OK, $85 for two large pies, med GF and med Cauliflower crust so if we need pizza again, I'd consider this place. Adding pictures two weeks later because we are back! read more

This location came highly recommended to my parents and when I was visiting them in Florida this past week they said we should go so we decided to make an evening of it very impressive the staff is very friendly and attentive we never had empty waters and they were always making sure that we had enough food and beer we decided to get a bucket of Miller light which is our unofficial family beer because my uncle drives from Miller what can I say? That's always been our go to light beer We also had a delicious pizza it was thin crust and cut square how it should be we had half Chicago fire which was an awesome combination of meats peppers and hot giardinara we also customized the other half with some veggies all-around great experience with and I can't wait for us to visit again the next time I'm down seriously a great time the location is also clean with a fun tiki bar in the back, I also loved all of the Chicago memorabilia that was there. read more

I'm sad that I probably won't be back through Stuart, FL anytime soon. I'll be dreaming about the Chicago Fire pizza until then. It's the best pizza I've had in 11 years, to the day! (Golden Boy in San Fran) It was all just luck. Travel home after a week in the Keys, looking for somewhere to spend the night. The Mrs finds the Old Colorado Inn and they have a vacancy, so we detour to Stuart. A week of seafood and we were looking for anything besides seafood. This pizza joint pops up and I initially read about the roast beef sandwich and I'm sold. We make the short walk over. Scanning the menu I see the Chicago Fire pizza and it's something I couldn't pass up. The waitress (super nice) sold my wife on the Alfredo pizza, add spinach, which my wife also loved. I rearranged the cooler to take the leftovers of the Chicago Fire pizza home, 7 hrs away. We just heated it and I reluctantly shared the pizza with my wife. She loved it too. You folks in Stuart are lucky. Good pizza is rare. read more

Haven't visited this place in many years, so decided to check them out for our Friday night dinner. I saw they have ordering online now AND delivery so I selected this option. I ordered their Very Veggie pizza and I told them to add some ground beef! There are a few things I could complain about: for starters, the delivery driver took forever to arrive and the pizza lacked any salt. BUT..... the pizza was STILL delicious!!! Soft, nicely-cooked crust, FRESH, thickly-sliced toppings, lots of cheese, yummy sauce!! The beef was good but I wish they had added a little salt. The online ordering experience was nice and simple, although the prices are high. But based on the TASTE alone I'm giving this place 4 stars! (4.5 if they would let me) So the hype about this place is REAL....very good food!!! read more

$23 is getting a bit pricey for a 16" sausage pizza! I go to Stuart often to see friends and order a to go pizza because I am from Chicago, and love Chicago style "cracker crust" pizza. The thin crust pizza is good I would rate is 7.2 on a Chicago rating there is also a place in Delray called Windy City Pizza I would say that pizza a 7.5 is a little better and is only 18.00 for a 16inch. I am critical of the price here because I have a friend in chicago who has a very successful multi location pizza business and even with todays inflation his cost to make a large sausage pizza is approx $3.50 with labor. Pizza are cheap to make even if you use very high quality ingredients. Dough and sauce are next to nothing, cheese is reasonable in bulk, so is sausage. Pizza is supposed to be a value dinner for a family...and like everything in this country has been moved "upscale" in order to extract more margin from customers. We all know this inflationary trend isn't going to end well and it already collapsing , its built on wreck-less money printing, currency debasing, financing, and extreme debt, that is not a solid foundation for solid or healthy economy. It is a great way for the state to enrich its own with designed asset inflation at the expense of everyone else however lol. I believe companies should try to once again offer a solid product for a fair price. I will buy this pizza again however at 23 for a one topping thin crust pizza I have paid for the right to complain! read more

I hate to write a negative review, but if this can help them to improve, I will post. I want Chicago Pizza in Stuart to survive and thrive but it has to be done right. We've tried this spot twice once two years ago and recently. Each time we chose to eat on the Tiki back porch. Environment is fine, silverware clean and service VERY attentive. Server was super kind and this is not a reflection on her. But honestly, I got food poisoning. The timing of when I ate and the fact I hadn't eaten all days leaves no other suspects. I had two Parmesan fries and found them saturated in a pool of oil. I could not tell if it was butter or olive oil but after one bite I was out. I was the only one that ordered gluten free crust and it was burnt and tasted like charred matza cracker. The sauce was so light I could barely taste it and the cheese was omnipresent and hardened. I was starving so I ate the whole thing but it wasn't good. My husband had the sausage sandwich and said it was thin and bland, no discernible spice. Now my son loved the regular sausage pizza and it looked and smelled good. It's possible husband and I simply chose poorly. But given full blown food poisoning with fever etc. I'm not willing to try again. We are from Chicago and call talk with love about deep dish, thin crust, Neapolitan style, wood fired. We're not out to take down a local business but it may be time to overhaul practices by cleaning out the fryer and investigating what may have caused a patron to become ill from the GF cheese pizza.
