We went here for our anniversary and came away with an overall positive experience. We had appetizers, dinner and desert. Ambiance, service, and quality of the food was 5 star. That said serving size, especially on the duck, needs improvement. We've both had the duck breast many times before (one of our favorites) and gerally it's at least 1/2 the breast. Picture 1/2 a duck breast and then cutting (2) 1/2" thick pieces on a plate.... again prep was right on, but if you come hungry don't get the duck. However, the scallops with root vegetable hash was spot on for portion size and sear. Would get this again. We do plan on returning to the resteraunt to try other dishes. read more

A group of six friends had an amazing dining experience here recently. Despite a major mistake through the online reservation service, we were served graciously and promptly. We had a mix of beautifully presented and delicious entrees and salads. The burrata with arugula pistachios & honey was excellent, as were scallops with root vegetables. All were totally happy with their meals. The ambience is elegant but very comfortable and pricing is very reasonable considering the the quality. WOW that is what I said as we were leaving this amazing restaurant. We have done a great deal of traveling and have been to many restaurants. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly staff member who asked if we all wanted to get our picture taken together. He saw us outside taking pictures in front of the pumpkins. Inside we were immediately escorted to a beautiful room full of light with a very friendly and knowledgeable server. From The time we entered until the time we left we were all made to feel very very special. They were five adults and one teenager who is a little fussy about food she is not familiar with. This server knew exactly what a girl her age would like. The food was Plated beautifully cannot remember the last time I went to a dinner and everybody absolutely loved loved everything ! We. Saved room for Desserts which were made in house and incredible. We all tried each others and couldn't decide which one we like the best they all were so good. I wish Anya the greatest of success in Connecticut. The grounds are also beautiful and they have a beautiful fire pit outside. I am ready to go back there As soon as I can. Atmosphere was incredible. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. We were seated with Anthony were out of this world impressed. He had a wonderful knowledge of the menu and helped us choose our meals. As much as we can't say enough about out server, we did have a few issues with food but couldn't see myself dropping stars because of it. I ordered the fish and it came out twice under cooked. Anya's in Thompson CT is a high end jewel in a beautiful rural area. The restaurant is gorgeous, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the food is absolutely wonderful! Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were not disappointed! Fabulous food and lovely ambiance, courteous staff went out of their way to make our evening special; Complimentary champagne and rose petals on table... And open on a Monday! Super classy place unlike anything around here. Recommend the tagliatelle bolognese and tiramisu parfait in particular. My boyfriend and I checked out ANYA for the first time last night. It was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Our waiter Dylan was phenomenal. He was very caring and conscientious. It is clear that he takes great pride in his job and making sure people are well cared for. He checked in constantly, gave great recommendations, and made the night memorable. For food, we started with bone marrow, octopus, and bean soup. Everything was delicious! We love octopus and this had the perfect spices to accompany it and the radicchio and orange slices really brought all the flavors together. The bean soup was comforting and hot. The bone marrow was really a great spread onto the perfect home made bread that we enjoyed as well. For dinner we shared the duck two ways, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was truly delicious and could not have been better. We will definitely be back soon! read more

We went for Thanksgiving, a party of 8 and found the food was just ok. The cornbread was delicious along with the cranberry relish. Some of us ordered stuffed turkey breast. The turkey was dry and the stuffing tasted a bit like tuna fish. The gravy offered was tasteless and didn't help the dry turkey. One of us had pork loin and he found it dry and sauce on it was bitter. Although the salmon was good and the stuffed acorn was good. The sides were just ok. Some of the brussel sprouts were tough. Last night was our first visit to Anya but will certainly not be our last! From the moment we arrived we knew that we were in for a truly unique dining experience. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful both outside and inside. It is a perfect representation of casual elegance. We would go to providence at least twice a week an dine at places like capitol grille an cafe nuovo and as far as we are concerned the food an service exceeds the capitol grille .The staff is second to none from Evan an Ryan who always makes sure everything is to our liking to Shannon, Jess, Dylan,Veronica,Loudin an Dom this staff exceeds all expectation . I usually don't write reviews, but this restaurant really made an impression! The location is amazing, it has a resort feeling when you pull in. There's a huge parking lot I had no trouble parking. When I walked in I was shocked at how beautifully decorated and clean it was inside. I sat at the bar with a few of my friends. We were immediately greeted by Dom and Evan who were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable on the menu. We started off with champagne and the charcuterie board. DELICIOUS! We ordered a few entrees to share..filet mignon, New York strip, GLUTEN FREE Bolognese! Brussels sprouts, potatoes, and the house salad! Everything tasted amazing, it was cooked to perfection. The gluten free pasta was a big hit for me and definitely the best I have ever tasted! We ended with an espresso martini, which was unbelievably good. I will definitely be back!! Absolutely gorgeous restaurant! Wonderful dining experience. Started with an Anya-tini, a lovely strawberry lemon drop martini that was delicious! I had a very nice Spring mix salad- the dressing was perfect. A perfectly cooked filet mignon with a delicious balsamic rosemary sauce was my entree of choice. Sides all a la carts- we opted for steak fries (my husband was looking for mashed potato which they didn't have), creamed chopped kale (yum), glazed carrots and charred cauliflower (which was my favorite!). The owners and staff were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying their experiences. The restaurant itself is beautiful and classy. My girlfriend and I went to ANYA for the first time this evening. Between the food, atmosphere and general feel, we were more than satisfied. I do however have to note that our waitress, Lisa, was exceptional. She was able to provide us extraordinary customer service from the moment we arrived. We felt like family. This service carried on throughout our entire experience. I would like to note that management should pay special attention to her as she is certainly an asset to your company. Small plates of burrata and mussels to start. Both were excellent in flavor and presentation. The sauce for the mussels was so good we wanted to bring it home! Our entrees of duck with golden beets and house made pasta with short rib ragu perfectly prepared and very delicious. Service was perfect. First time experience,and we were looking forward to our evening with family from out of town and we bragged about how wonderful everyone said it was. From there it was down hill,the waitress some how became more of a snob when approach with question and when the dinner was served two to the fish dishes were extremely cold,and the pasta was also cold,not even tepid. So therefore having to send the fish back,and waiting another 20 min.. Question what do the other people do not eat,and or wait for the other dinners to come out. So we ate in stages. Not what you call an enjoyable dinner with family. With that said there was some compensation to bill,but no enough for me to return. To add to the evening our waitress never showed us a dessert menu. I guess no coffee or dessert is served after a two and half hour dinner. One plus for this restaurant was the hostess,she was very pleasant. I personally think for our inconvenient we should be dearly compensated. read more

It is a wonderful building both inside an out. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our bartender, Matt, was amazing. He was very friendly & knowledgeable about both the food menu along with the wine & cocktails. The drinks he made were wonderful!! Our issues came with the food. We ordered the burrata salad that consisted of arugula, pistachios, beets & burrata. The salad arrived without the beets so we had to ask for them. We ordered the mussels and although it was delicious there was no crusty bread for the delicious sauce. Again we had to ask. We then ordered the steak and egg special. We asked that the eggs be cooked over medium so as not to be too goopy on the plate but to still have some nice yolk flow. They came out hard & had to be redone. We asked that the steak be medium rare but more on the rare side. It came out medium at best. Matt was wonderful and took care of everything right away but he should not have had to. There were less than a dozen people in the restaurant at the time so no excuses. This is billed as a high-end restaurant which the building & front of the house staff support but the kitchen is not on the same page. read more

1st visit to an elegant setting with an impressive array of sitting environments. The house baked bread is superb. I've been to Italy numerous times and Anya's bread rivals the best of Puglia with a crisp, chewy crust and a light, airy dough. Glass wines of a wonderfully rich Chianti and a smooth, dry Pinot Grigio were excellent with a perusal of their wine list showing a good variety of reasonable great wines for our next visit. Frito misto for an appetizer was unique with polenta crusted salmon and large chucks of haddock accompanying the usual calamari. My wife's scallop entree had a generous portion of stunningly large medallions that were perfectly carmelized and sitting on a bed of creamy risotto. My duck "duo" was the best duck I have had since the original Harvest at Bald Hill. A large breast cooked perfectly rare and topped with a fig reduction that was far superior to the usual cherry sauce. The leg/thigh was deep fried with a crispy crust enveloping sumptuous dark meet. The only problem I have with the duck is that I'll have a hard time not getting it again when I return. Our waitress was wonderful, efficient and accommodating. She understood my request for a half portion of a pasta entree to accompany my duck. The house made linguini with a light saffron cream melts in your mouth. Finished with a rich espresso, limoncello and a decant flourless almond cake sitting on a bed of carmel sauce. A few suggestions. Would rather have a quality olive oil than butter for your extraordinary bread. Your pastas are superb but a little freshly grated Parmesan would have sent them to the stars. Again, our waitress was great but the junior staff that delivers food to the table need a lesson in table numbers as they were always confused or making mistakes. Regardless, best meal I've had in our part of Connecticut heavenly since the Golden Lamb shut down. Can't wait to return. read more
