It would be difficult to find a more beautiful venue than Anya's. It's lovely both inside and out. On this warm evening, we arrived early and dined al fresco in the shade. We ordered: * Brie Tart: pastry, blackberry, thyme, walnuts, honey, dressed micro green. $18 * Stuffed Gulf Shrimp: mirepoix, bell pepper & breadcrumb stuffing, potato puree, spinach, lemon, lobster sauce. $44 * Duck a l 'Orange: crispy seared breast, grand mariner & orange reduction, roasted fennel, parsnip puree, blackberry. $42 Ice water and two glasses of wine found their way to our table quickly, the service was excellent throughout our meal. Delicious warm rolls with tasty, salted butter arrived soon after. We were dining early so our view was quiet and beautiful. We also able to score a table in the shade, there is limited shade available outside. Yhe tart was good, though I think a warm version would be better. The shrimp were nicely cooked and very tasty and I thought the stuffing was delicious. My co-diner was less impressed with the stuffing, though overall I think this was a well executed dish. Unfortunately, the Crispy Duck a l 'Orange was anything but, the duck skin was soggy and the duck a little too rare. A rare miss, pardon the pun, for Anya's. I don't like to return a dish during dinner, as it disrupts the flow. So, I ate the duck which wasn't bad, but a premium price does infer the food is going to be properly prepared. That said, we will certainly return!

We came to Anya for our anniversary and were greeted with a sweet card at the table--such a thoughtful touch! The staff was super friendly, and the starters were the highlight: the carrot ginger soup and pork & leek dumplings were both delicious. For mains, the beef Wellington was just okay, but my husband enjoyed the duck l'orange. I tried the ube cheesecake--unique and fun, though I'd probably try something different next time. Overall, a lovely spot with great service and standout appetizers. We'd definitely return!

We were at Anya, nestled in the hills of beautiful Thompson, CT for my daughter's birthday. Anya is a fine-dining French restaurant that has been voted top 25 Most Romantic Restaurants in Connecticut. It was truly a magnificent experience to mark the special occasion. Great service, elegant ambience and delicious food. Lot of parking available. Absolutely gorgeous location. Worth the drive! We ordered Nanna's Meatballs, Tokyo Nachos, East Coast Oysters, Beef Wellington, Ribeye with lobster tail, Lobster Rigatoni and Olive Oil Cake.

Perfection! This was our first time dining at Anya. The food, service, and ambiance exceeded our expectations. Plenty of time to dine in a relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to return after the holidays.

Waited long enough to try Anya and finally made it last week! Amazing presentation of food and great service in a modern setting. Thoroughly enjoyed the French onion soup for starters and ribeye for mains. Knowledgeable staff and professional in their service delivery. Will certainly visit again, a great local venue for the quiet corner. Worth the visit.

When you first arrive you'll notice how great the vibe is. Walking inside the decor and atmosphere is upscale and relaxing! Such a beautiful restaurant. The service was great! The food was amazing! Definitely recommend.

A very beautiful restaurant. It definitely as a an upscale look to it inside and out. Would love to go back to sit in the outside area for cocktails when it gets warmer. Service was great. Everyone who took care of us was very nice and did a great job. Food was timely and spread apart with a nice amount of time in between. The food I thought was good for some and okay for others. The appetizers and soup were a little disappointing. But the entrees were very good.

Anniversary dinner and we could not have been more impressed! From the greeting by our hostess to the card recognizing our anniversary on the table, we immediately new we were in for a treat. The decor is elegant but simple and the ambiance is exceptional. Cocktails to start were perfect - Anyatini and Smoked Manhattan were smooth; add in a Mojito and refreshing beer for later on. Clam Chowder, Chopped Salad, Spicy Tuna, bruschetta, pickles, olives, rolls - amazing for starters. Main course: Filet and a Swordfish steak. Fantastic!

The wedding ceremony was here and after we toasted the bride and groom. The staff made sure all the guests had champagne for the toasting. For cocktail hour many hors d'oeuvres were passed around plus several tables of food you would expect at a high end catering venue. We enjoyed everything from steak to vegetables to many to name. The service was excellent. There were many staff walking around to either pass out hors d'oeuvres or clean up after us. I've never seen so many staff at a wedding venue doing this. This was over the top. For diner there were several rooms with 3 or 4 table each. We even had personalized menus with our names on them at our table. Never seen this. What a nice touch. For dinner we started with a nice salad with lettuce, nuts, and cheese. The only choice for the main course was Filet Mignon. I enjoyed it but not everyone likes meat. There were no other option. That was strange, not sure why they did that. Before dessert we were back on the dance floor. DJ was great. The were 2 bars and the bartenders were on top of their game all night. For me since it was New Year's Eve I drank Champagne all night. Luckily we had a shuttle to us back to the hotel we were staying at. No driving for me. Dessert of course was wedding cake and a bunch of other fine delicious items, ice cream, brie with pecans in a sweet sauce, and others. At this point I stopped looking because I was stuffed. We toasted at midnight with more champagne. Then came the after party. I can't say enough for Lord Thompson Manor, the decor was beautiful, staff were amazing, efficient, polite and there were many staff personnel to assist. We all had a great time.

But I'm here to talk about smells. They clean the floors with lemon-scented Pine Sol. The downstairs is all hardwood floors so it has a distinct lemon smell in the air. Fresh Connecticut air! If detergent smells don't bother you, this is a great place to stay. With good reviews and a cool menu we dropped in and couldn't have been happier! We were pretty lucky as it was not that busy and we were able to get a table right away. Holy 6 pound baby Jesus they were good. They came out piping hot and the cheese was in a bubbling side dish. This isn't your typical dab of cheese in a plastic condiment container that is commonplace nowadays. I had the Arturo Sandoval (spin on a Cuban) as my entree and it was also fabulous and came out hot. Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly
