It would be difficult to find a more beautiful venue than Anya's. It's lovely both inside and out. On this warm evening, we arrived early and dined al fresco in the shade. We ordered: * Brie Tart: pastry, blackberry, thyme, walnuts, honey, dressed micro green. $18 * Stuffed Gulf Shrimp: mirepoix, bell pepper & breadcrumb stuffing, potato puree, spinach, lemon, lobster sauce. $44 * Duck a l 'Orange: crispy seared breast, grand mariner & orange reduction, roasted fennel, parsnip puree, blackberry. $42 Ice water and two glasses of wine found their way to our table quickly, the service was excellent throughout our meal. Delicious warm rolls with tasty, salted butter arrived soon after. We were dining early so our view was quiet and beautiful. We also able to score a table in the shade, there is limited shade available outside. Yhe tart was good, though I think a warm version would be better. The shrimp were nicely cooked and very tasty and I thought the stuffing was delicious. My co-diner was less impressed with the stuffing, though overall I think this was a well executed dish. Unfortunately, the Crispy Duck a l 'Orange was anything but, the duck skin was soggy and the duck a little too rare. A rare miss, pardon the pun, for Anya's. I don't like to return a dish during dinner, as it disrupts the flow. So, I ate the duck which wasn't bad, but a premium price does infer the food is going to be properly prepared. That said, we will certainly return!

We came to Anya for our anniversary and were greeted with a sweet card at the table--such a thoughtful touch! The staff was super friendly, and the starters were the highlight: the carrot ginger soup and pork & leek dumplings were both delicious. For mains, the beef Wellington was just okay, but my husband enjoyed the duck l'orange. I tried the ube cheesecake--unique and fun, though I'd probably try something different next time. Overall, a lovely spot with great service and standout appetizers. We'd definitely return!

We were at Anya, nestled in the hills of beautiful Thompson, CT for my daughter's birthday. Anya is a fine-dining French restaurant that has been voted top 25 Most Romantic Restaurants in Connecticut. It was truly a magnificent experience to mark the special occasion. Great service, elegant ambience and delicious food. Lot of parking available. Absolutely gorgeous location. Worth the drive! We ordered Nanna's Meatballs, Tokyo Nachos, East Coast Oysters, Beef Wellington, Ribeye with lobster tail, Lobster Rigatoni and Olive Oil Cake.

Perfection! This was our first time dining at Anya. The food, service, and ambiance exceeded our expectations. Plenty of time to dine in a relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to return after the holidays.

Waited long enough to try Anya and finally made it last week! Amazing presentation of food and great service in a modern setting. Thoroughly enjoyed the French onion soup for starters and ribeye for mains. Knowledgeable staff and professional in their service delivery. Will certainly visit again, a great local venue for the quiet corner. Worth the visit.

When you first arrive you'll notice how great the vibe is. Walking inside the decor and atmosphere is upscale and relaxing! Such a beautiful restaurant. The service was great! The food was amazing! Definitely recommend.

A very beautiful restaurant. It definitely as a an upscale look to it inside and out. Would love to go back to sit in the outside area for cocktails when it gets warmer. Service was great. Everyone who took care of us was very nice and did a great job. Food was timely and spread apart with a nice amount of time in between. The food I thought was good for some and okay for others. The appetizers and soup were a little disappointing. But the entrees were very good.

Anniversary dinner and we could not have been more impressed! From the greeting by our hostess to the card recognizing our anniversary on the table, we immediately new we were in for a treat. The decor is elegant but simple and the ambiance is exceptional. Cocktails to start were perfect - Anyatini and Smoked Manhattan were smooth; add in a Mojito and refreshing beer for later on. Clam Chowder, Chopped Salad, Spicy Tuna, bruschetta, pickles, olives, rolls - amazing for starters. Main course: Filet and a Swordfish steak. Fantastic!

When I saw the menu stated l the recommended temps and basically anything over "medium" was sacrilegious, or something to that effect, I was stoked. I am a black and blue, or Pittsburgh rare guy, and when I requested a great steak house when visiting, this seemed like the right call. My exact statement, as always, when ordering a steak, was "I will 1000% never send it back for too rare, and cold in the center is fine", so when my ribeye was served at BEST medium, it was disappointing to say the least. At $50, I expected the temp to be spot on. The waitress seemed "meh" when she came around and I noted that the temp was well over, she did apologize, but that was about it. In 1000% transparency, I've had way better temps at Texas Roadhouse. Flavor was fine, the sweet potato side was nice, but for a $50 steak to miss temp by that much? Very, very disappointing. Next time I visit, certain I'll look elsewhere. The most disappointing thing is that a black and blue temp is not hard. Yes, its a PIA to get out with a three top, but a 4-6 minute ribeye to miss by that much, at a steakhouse, is a bit of a travesty.

Every staffer we interacted with was excessively friendly and professional, and we discussed this throughout the meal. Starters: carpaccio, crab cakes, oysters, beef wonton. Crab cakes were the favorite, we described it as the perfect seafood stuffing. Beef wontons were a disappointment (for the price), and I wouldn't order them again. 4 rather small (essentially) empanada/rangoon, that didn't have much flavor on their own; came with a beef gravy, that wasn't a fit for me. For mains, we all ordered different steaks. Several were undercooked. I had ordered mine medium, and it was closer to rare; another ordered medium rare & described it as black and blue. Myself and a friend who ordered the ribeye felt they were tougher than we were expecting. The waitress did check in, and we opted not to send the steaks back (which is on us). The sides were quite good. Garlic mashed, Dijon glazed carrots, and asparagus with hollandaise. Carrots were the top winner. While we were all full, we opted in for dessert. Strawberry shortcake, dark chocolate & caramel bread pudding, and sorbetto. The pound cake was a bit too dense for me, and I like a bit more strawberry "sauce", that often gets sopped up by the cake. Bread pudding was perfect, dark chocolate crust on the top made it unique. Sorbetto was flavorful. Something to be aware of - there are lots of small upcharges, that aren't always clear (that a given thing costs more). Would you like bacon on your salad, $3; you're sharing that dessert, would you like an extra scoop of ice cream, $2.5. These may've been noted on the menu and I hadn't noticed. Each individual addition wasn't costly, but over the course of a meal, it did add up.

The hostess, who was on was very new, and I don't think she fully understood what I was asking. She ended up telling me that, Yes it was a normal beef Wellington. Cool, so excited, don't see those often. We get there, I order it because I already asked for clarification and didn't think I'd need to ask a second time. As we were waiting for our food, I saw some dishes come out from the table across from us and the waitress said, "Here is your beef Wellington". I realized that it was a concept of beef Wellington, but not a traditional beef Wellington, which is what I'd been worried about. We hadn't seen our server in a while so I went over to the bar and let them know that I wanted to cancel my order because it just wasn't what I wanted and the price tag was $60. I've been willing to pay that if it was what I had my heart set on, but it wasn't. They said they would cancel it. In a little bit, someone then came over, not our waitress, to tell me that I will be charged half of the price of the beef Wellington because I canceled it and it was already made. And of course, I was not OK with that. I once again explained to them that I had called and asked if it was a traditional beef Wellington and was told that yes it was. They said that the hosts are not trained on the menu so they cannot answer questions on them. I then asked what is the point of having someone who is untrained on the menu answer your phones because sometimes people are going to ask questions before they choose to come to a restaurant. I refused to pay the $30, she stated she would have to call the manager back because the manager was not on premises that day and see what she could do. In the meantime, they brought out the beef Wellington that they made and tried to entice me to eat it and I of course said no thank you. Finally, they told me I didn't have to pay. I ordered the stew appetizer. It was very small but tasty, and I was pretty hungry at that point so I'm glad I ordered it. Not sure I'd try this place again, but maybe if I lived closer. Not having a manager on premises really made it tough, it was a massive waiting game to get an answer, and I've never heard of a place blame the customer for their knowledge gaps. I definitely will not be going out of my way to come here again.
