The air conditioning has been out all summer, creating unsafe, inhumane conditions in the gym. As long-term members, we've never seen it this bad--no AC, poor equipment maintenance, and zero management response. At 116°F in Phoenix, this is a serious health hazard. Anytime fitness and it's employees are thieves. I am a travel nurse and have been working around the country with covid 19 patients since this May. I am currently in Missouri. Long story short... this gym charged me 2.5 months while the gyms were closed for the pandemic. While traveling for the past 9 months I tried to cancel my membership and was unable to due to proper documentation. I live out of Airbnb's and hotels with no place of permanent residence. I was promised a hold for 3 months which would put me to September 2020 and to be credited the charges to my account for the months of October and November 2020. (My 12 month membership ended September 2020). I just reached out to the gym to cancel and get an update and I am told that my account has been canceled and that I was put into collections this past October 2020. Mind boggling! ?? While asking to speak with upper management, Vince says that he is and there is no one else I can speak with. ... unless he is the owner?? this is just a lie. I'm now in contact with Kingston the collection agency as well. How I owe over $200 is just pure ridiculous- as the company owes me reimbursement/credits. I'd like for this to be taken care of. My boyfriend and I used this facility a few times while traveling. Some how his membership got transferred and mine did not... even though we go to the gym together every time. When we asked them about this they said they had no idea. Long story short we submitted a cancellation on August 15 2022. We were no longer in the area. We sent certified mail of our cancellation with PROOF /and receipts. The last auto draft payment was suppose to be 9/2/22. It's October 12th and my boyfriend is still being charged. They say one thing then do another. Reading the reviews it's no surprise that others have had horrible experiences with the billing and cancelling. They literally say the wrong thing then blame you. It's weird how he said they had no idea how my boyfriends membership got transferred but from reading the reviews it seems like it's something they put in a request in for... I've been to a few anytime fitness locations but this is by far the worst!! Horrible customer service. Money hungry and doesn't care about customers. Every time we would catch them in a lie they would change the story again... I want to make it very clear. My boyfriend had no balance at the time of submitting the cancellation. They said TWICE the cancellation would be processed the day I sent certified mail and now they are saying no. They never reached out and said anything about a problem with the cancellation. We still don't even have confirmation his account is even closed. Never have I ever dealt with a business this shady. They REFUSE to refund him. Go with another gym. Not worth the hassle. Terribly run facility, they made it extremely difficult to cancel my best friends membership after she unexpectedly passed away. They pushed to keep the membership active for a whole extra month despite providing a death certificate. Money Hungry A**holes. Hope they go out of business. Watch out for this place and there billing practices ..... Long story short California resident that stopped in rarely while trucking to workout . The manager at the time called and asked if he could make me there member instead of my home club in California . I'm sure this was because they wanted to receive my membership dues instead of California , I said go ahead at the time in didn't matter ... fast forward to covid all California clubs were closed for a long period of time and I was still being charged in az for membership . After talking to the manager and not getting a resolution I thought was fair I cut ties with anytime fitness . Canceled my card linked and never went there again . Even after my conversation with the manager they continued for 90 days to charge the account and come to find out today I was never told about a cancellation form I needed to fill out . They did this without any notice and sent this to collection instead of resolving this right way after my conversation and being owed months of dues cause my original home club in California waS closed for 6 months and they were still charging me . Present day I just found about all this and try and talk to the current manager and the regional manager Vince to get them to remove the collection notice . After a heated argument with "vince" pretty much ended no where and put all the blame on me . . Watch out for this club and there billing practices . Collection over a gym membership with no emails or calls after my conversation with the manager at the time . And don't expect the "regional manager " to help in any situation. This reply in generic . To call u out on all the false things u said . No one called or emailed me after I verbal canceled with the manager at the time . I never got one call or email verified by Vince after that email stating my account was going to collections and I was still getting charged for 90 days after . I pay a lot of money every month to go to this gym. This used to be my default location, but not anymore. When you walk into the place, it smells like unwashed socks. Even worse, it's been taken over by high school kids that monopolize all of the free weights and cables, and either do not let anyone else use them, or are openly hostile about sharing them. I now travel far to go to another location and have begun seeing people from this gym there as well. That's a sure sign that something is wrong. read more

The wife and I joined up several years ago and due to travel and circumstances, never made it in. Kept forgetting to go in to cancel my membership and let it drag on. The guy helping me tried to have me pause my membership instead but I just told him that it wasn't worth it to me at this point. The thing that bothers me the most is that he told me they have a 30 day policy which I'm fine with, but then charged me an additional $40 for an enhancement fee even when I'm cancelling my family's subscription. Whatever, this will be the last penny they get from me. I guess my last paragraph didn't convey what my issue is. I don't have a problem with the 30 day notice. My problem is getting hit with an enhancement fee even when I'm cancelling my membership. It feels like the gym is trying to squeeze every little cent out of me possible before I leave. read more

I wish I read the reviews prior to signing up. Same issue. I no longer need an account at this gym and haven't been there in well over 2 years as I built my own home gym during the pandemic. I forgot I had an account with them until I got the payment calls because I cancelled the bank account with Chase that they were connected to. I have requested verbally twice and now in writing to cancel the account. I am not in the area to physically go in and I refuse to send a certified mail just to cancel a gym membership. They make it super difficult for you to cancel just to keep collecting your payment. Very shady business practices. I will make sure everyone knows not to work with this franchise or company. When I talked to the guy at the business, he refused to let me talk to anyone above him and said he is the only one I can speak with. He was extremely rude over the phone. read more

Not surprised by so many (almost half) negative reviews, of this location. The management not caring and act like typical gym scam artists. No response from owner despite multiple attempts to contact. The positive reviews are about the gym cleanliness and facilities, which I agree are great but a gym is supposed to be a safe space to release stress and work on yourself both physically and mentally : it shouldn't be the cause of further stress and discomfort. My wife and I have been members of this gym for a little over a year and we LOVE IT! After trying several other much larger and more expensive local gyms, we will be staying happy members here. The gym and equipment are clean and well ran by the excellent staff. Cameron, who works the front office office, is always super friendly, helpful and works hard to keep things running smoothly. We also see the Training Team, Alex (Manager) & Preston, twice a week and they do a fantastic job providing effective, engaging and individualized workouts based on our goals. They also have a really cool app for tracking YOUR results (see pics) - helping keep us on track! This is my first time ever joining this gym franchise so I think I made a mistake by signing up for a 2 year contract. Like previous post mentioned: this particular location won't give price over the phone, which should have been a clue for me. But I went ahead anyways, because it is the closest gym to my house. I do like that it is clean, and I really wanted to get back into a gym sooner than later, so I succumbed to the high pressure sale, and that's what it was. Please be aware that they charge $50 for the key fob AND $30 annually for "club enhancement", which makes no sense to me because 1) isn't it why they are charging you up to 40/ mo and 2) why don't they just included that with the monthly fee? Just don't like to be nickel and dime. read more

I like Anytime Fitness as I can get in anytime and get a fast good workout with out the crowds. The gym is always clean and I can get to the all the equipment quickly without waiting. It costs a little more than the $20 a month gyms but well worth the price to avoid the hassle and save time. read more

Stay away! They will bring multiple people into your appointment, trying to intimidate into signing up. Once you do, it is almost impossible to cancel your membership over the phone. I had to go into the managers office after 2 months of them saying they would handle it for me and tell him to stop my membership now! Unbelievably scummy people at this location. read more

This business has made it nearly impossible to cancel a membership. They make you go in to the physical location to cancel, charge for January when canceling the first week of December. Then they threaten to take you to small claims court if you cancel your credit card so they can't charge it. On top of that, they will not provide any documentation on sight to verify cancellation. Finally, the manager walked into the business without a mask, backed into a handicapped spot, and was not at all helpful. read more

Woo hoo! Found our home gym! First of all, it is a small gym compared to others I have been to, however.... it does not get crowded (which i love). That's what made us leave our previous gym, because you would be waiting in line to utilize each machine. It's nice and convenient to go, have your workout ready, and get it done with everything you need. They have free-standing squat racks, free weights, stair master, row machine, etc. The best part is that they are open 24 hours, for night shifters like me, it makes it a must-have! Equipment is always clean and other members are good about cleaning up after themselves and re-racking their weights. read more

Just joined Anytime Fitness at their new location on Riggs Rd in Chandler Az. Very clean and state of art equipment. Nice size for a small gym. They have a aerobic room that also doubles as theatre with tutorial workouts on a drop down screen. Spinning bikes included with wide variety of program selections. The staff GM Brenden is very friendly and provided a complete tour. Price was very reasonable. 24/7 facility is a plus. Two men's private restrooms with shower as well as two women's private restrooms with shower . Looking forward to many workouts in a cut above well maintained and clean facility. I have been going to this gym for the last 2 years. The gym is modern and fairly new. All of the equipment is fully in tact and not worn down like some other gyms. The gym has squat racks, plyometric boxes, cable machines and free weights that go up to 100 pounds. I love this gym because its never too busy. It's very rare that you have to wait to use a piece of equipment. The gym also has in InBody body composition machine to measure muscle mass and and weight that is free. It's really cool to track your monthly progress to help reach your goals. read more

It's unfortunate that this location does not except the Prime fitness membership any more. I went in to make this location my home gym and purchase a membership for a family member. I had been a member of Anytime fitness for many years but was told that this location will lock my key out even though the agreement says my key will work at all locations after a prolonged membership. The facility is nice and was going to be convenient for us. So we decided to be a member of Fitness 1440! Now wow that's a step up. Thank you! read more

Interestingly... I went here in person to buy a membership, the prices seemed really high to me so I ended up not getting a membership. After googling the membership costs I saw that they were much cheaper than what I was offered. I called a different location for pricing, they were very nice and offered me a price that was like half of what this location initially offered me. So I called back, acted like a new inquiry and he said "I can't give out prices over the phone". I know the kid doesn't own the facility, so I'll blame the owner, who probably told him he had to say that. It's 2017. Less transparency = less business. We all know that "we don't share our prices over the phone" is code for "we want you to come in so we can try to hard sell you". Very bad business decision. Predatory gym who will make it as difficult and inconvenient as possible for you to cancel your membership. I am a travel nurse and ended up in an area where the closest Anytime was 23 miles away. Another 24 hour gym was .5 miles away so I wanted to change. But Anytime wouldn't let me cancel because the gym wasn't 25 miles away, so my option is to pay my membership in full $601... Join a different gym, you'll thank yourself later. Sadly I would have rejoined anytime down the road in another city if they were closer in the future. But I'll be steering clear of this gym countrywide now. read more

This summer I had 1 more month in Chandler until I was off to college, but wanted to go to a gym for cheap (for only 1 month). I talked to Brenden (GM) and he gave me their best offer for the one month with no enrollment fee, etc. Along with it I got a free 90-minute consultation with Cody, and then signed up for personal training with the other Coty! I love everyone who works there, they are all so nice, and welcoming and really want to see you succeed with your goals. I have also gone to a yoga class with Nichole on Thursday nights and she is sweet too. I am so sad to be leaving for college soon since I found this awesome gym! read more
