They have gear for everyone, except the hardcore powerlifter (meaning no 100 lb plates, jack racks, platforms, bar jack for deadlift loading, competition bench, or chalk stand.) They DO have squat racks, Smith machines, flat and incline benches, a range of dumbbells up to 140 lbs, and an array of basic HammerStrength machines. The bonus for me is that they have FreeMotion machines, which are the bomb for plane-and-range-of-motion training. They've also got assorted tubing, medicine and stability balls, and Bosus. In case someone from DAC reads this, it would be super-cool if you could install a TRX rack or two. Approximately half the work-out space is devoted to cardio machines, and there's an upstairs where classes are held. I always thought DAC was great for families. It's located at Cox Park where the baseball and soccer fields are. So, it's convenient if the family is involved in those activities as well. However, they do not have a pool; nor do they have a sauna, steam or whirlpool. No big deal for me, but some people demand those things.

Second, The Kickstarter is a series of five small 1:1 sessions to assess your fitness and allow you to quickly become a butt kicking class member. This is done by testing strength, flexibility, and endurance. Last is the level program that allows everyone to do the same workout while having modifications built in based on the assessments mentioned above. This has the added benefit of the trainers being able to meet you where you are. I showed up because of word of mouth and would love to pay that forward. It is worth coming in and see for yourself. Ask lots of questions and see if you are not impressed by the team!

The bathrooms might be the dirtiest thing I've ever seen. Literally bugs all over the showers. Half the treadmills don't work or barely do. And people get things stolen here every other week. The only redeeming quality this gym has is the sauna. And it's still the nastiest sauna I've ever been in but it gets hotter than any other one in the area. There are plenty of cardio equipment options and weights. Staff is nice and helpful in answering questions I had about my membership. The parking lot is small and can be chaotic with the shopping center and Dixie Queen traffic. The gym is easy to spot from the street, I'm not sure about security guards or if there is any security services for the gym/shopping center. For the most part I would visit for convenience since it is closer. With the black card there is a limit on how many times you can " visit" another gym outside of your home gym and the limit is 10/month from what I was told here. But if you have questions about the black card perks definitely speak to one of the representatives for more accurate information.

That's it ! Everything is confusing when you walk in! And plus they charged me $100 plus $40 just to sign up! Forget that! There's ATC right down the street that I can $25 for and go to all 20 of them! It's just not worth it to me ! There's only one Germantown athletic club and fifty other clubs that have more than one! You could feel the difference the moment she walked in the building. The energy, the positivity, the way she spoke to people, and how she actually cared about members made this place feel like home. She didn't treat people like just another membership number. She remembered faces, checked on people, motivated us, and made everyone feel comfortable no matter their fitness level. Even when the gym was busy or stressful, she handled everything with professionalism and grace. Since she stepped away from the AGM position, it honestly hasn't felt the same. You don't realize how much someone truly holds a place together until they're gone, even though she's still there just less and not the manager. The atmosphere, customer service, organization, and overall vibe changed noticeably. No disrespect to anyone else, but some people can work a position... Mrs. Kiva WAS the position. Crunch really had a gem in her. She set the standard, and a lot of us members still talk about how much we miss her energy and leadership. She made people want to come to the gym, and that's something you can't train someone to do. Saw an add on social media to try a free class so I decided to give it a try. The staff called and…read moretexted..... a lot to get the class scheduled. The waiver comes via text which made it easy to get that done prior to class. The class starts on time. I was still looking for the actual place when class started so had to reschedule for another day (there were also texts and calls reminding me about this). The actual class was awesome. The instructor had a nice calm voice and demonstrated what needed to be done (while talking us through how to get into position) which was great for different types of leaners. At the end of class, we were given a spiel about packages with the option for drop in classes. I personally prefer a handout with exact class days and times as my schedule varies from week to week. I did not buy a package that day, but still continue to get texts from here. When my schedule slows down some, I will definitely be working Pilates in.
