This gym is convenient, especially since it's the only gym in Marina, and the 24-hour access is a huge plus. However, my biggest concern is the cleanliness. The floors are consistently dirty and dusty, which gives the facility an unkempt feel. I understand that maintaining a 24-hour gym can be challenging, but what is most frustrating is that the spray bottles provided to wipe down equipment appear to contain only water rather than a disinfectant solution. It's unsanitary and defeats the purpose of cleaning equipment between users. For a gym that sees a lot of daily traffic, cleanliness and proper sanitation should be a higher priority. read more

Not very cool anytime! I worked out, went to shower, running the water waiting for hot water, 7 people trying to use this restroom, make that 8. While I'm waiting for hot water I could have rinsed off by now I'm not trying to cold plunge but tons of members are having a bad experience waiting for me and another guy who is no doubt waiting for his shower to warm up. It's not even warm and it's been 50g of water down the drain. Ya all need in demand water heaters. I'll wait another 29 min and then I give up. Bummer anytime. read more

Great place to work out equipment was in great condition and very clean. There's lots to choose from and the hours here are great as well as the memberships. Gym seems nice. Showers however have mold and a lot of gunk build up as if they only get hosed out. A little bleach can do a lot.

They deleted my review on google, so I have to re post it. (Update: they are saying they did not and cannot delete it. All I know is my first review disappeared and I had to re post it. Not completely sure what happened there) Don't be fooled. A lot of these "5 star reviews" are because they wave a hefty fee when you sign up if "you leave a good review" any establishment that requires you to leave a good review so you don't have to pay something.. sketchy. Yeah it's 24/7, but this gym is gross. Shared bathrooms between males and females and the males always... and I mean always, leave the seat up with their pee still in the toilet. It's wild that's such an issue at this gym. I don't think anyone is raised to behave like that it's downright disgusting and feels like I can't even use the bathroom in a gym I pay for because it's a constant problem. Probably don't even wipe either if that's how they act in public shared spaces. (Update: they most certainly should update cleaning protocols and pass this onto their staff. If the staff doesn't want to do it, please hire a cleaning team.. something!) This gym seems to also be ran by teenagers. Barely cleaned. Ceiling in the downstairs area is usually filled with water or something from something leaking upstairs looking like it's going to cave in at any point. (Update: they are claiming to have fixed the almost collapsing ceiling tiles filled with water. Great. I wouldn't know because I don't go to this gym anymore) Also, the staff desk is upstairs. That means during hours where the guest doors are unlocked and free for anyone to come in.. people are always coming in to the work out space downstairs not knowing where to go. I have my headphones on, trying to concentrate on my workout. It feels un- safe that anyone can come in and use the vicinity downstairs without any staff by the entrance. (Update: Staff is immediately alerted when people enter through the guest doors?? And are approached?? Not from what I've seen. People walk into the downstairs gym area all the time, give themselves a tour around, use the bathroom etc.. walk right past cubicles where members put their personal belongings.. people who come in looking for the front desk/staff are confused every single time and either ask members or finally figure it out themselves and head upstairs. I'm sure that's when they are possibly approached by staff. Once they go upstairs. But seriously.. put a desk/table something by the doors) I like my gyms to be clean, safe, and to be around respectful people. This gym has NONE of that. There are other anytime fitness gyms in Monterey, pacific grove and Carmel and those are a lot better than this one by a millilleeeee. I would like to cancel my membership but we are locked in for the first year. Big mistake on my part. I go to a completely different gym now and just took the L for these payments. Counting down the days I can cancel at this gym. Btw, that picture of the check-in desk by the front door is not true at all, maybe a few years ago it was.. but not any more. there is no check-in by the front doors. I've seen people come in off the street and use the bathroom etc, which is by a few cubby cubicles people put their stuff in while working out. Makes no sense. read more

My review is about their horrible contract. READ THE TERMS OF AGREEMENTS BEFORE SIGNING UP like how I did. Smh. Had I read the Terms of Agreements I would have never signed up. I quit my job 1 month after I signed up and realized I could no longer afford membership, so they told me the only way I can quit is if I pay over $600 dollars to buy out my membership, otherwise I will have to continue paying monthly until I paid off the $670. NEVER AGAIN WILL I JOIN A GYM BEFORE READING TERMS OF AGREEMENTS. Huge lesson learned. read more

Great gym! I have been coming to anytime fitness for about a month now through the guest pass with my girlfriend. Everytime I come I noticed the gym equipment was clean and well maintained. There is room to hop on most machines as the other members don't occupy the machines for too long and are respectful of one another. Member since 2015 Sign up was easy, they said canceling is not a problem once contract is up. Work in the Bay Area commuted from Monterey. Needed to find a gym that was a half way point plus commuting is not fun during traffic hours. Signed up at the Morgan Hill location. They finally opened in Prunedale, Marina and then Monterey. Enjoyed the different locations. Finally 2018, I got pregnant and had to put membership on hold sometime in 2019 (forgot how long they put the account on hold, maybe 9 months). Relocated to Fremont, then COVID happen 2020, thought maybe this whole thing will stop and that I can enjoy the gym again. Didn't mind paying for membership since a lot of business were not doing so well (mind you,I'm done with contract so there's nothing holding me back). Since, COVID is still around during Spring of 2021. And having a baby at home, I tried calling and leaving voicemails about canceling but heard nothing. Thought maybe office isn't open cause of COVID reasons. Stopped by the Marina location but office was closed and I didn't have my fob key to try to get inside. The fob key ring had broken off my keychain sometime before giving birth. And was lost. Fast forward 1/17/2022, I decided to call the Marina office and someone picked up. The person couldn't locate my membership in the system so he ask for manager. He even said this issue is above his pay raise. Come to find out that I had to cancel my membership at the location I opened my account. Last I heard, my account was transferred to Prunedale because I went there more often. So, I assume that since my last visits to the gyms were at the Marina location (caused I went there more often) then they would have transferred me there. I called Morgan Hill location, I talk to John on speaker cause I was driving. I was visiting the grandparents with my son in Monterey. By the time I was talking to John, I was in San Jose. I was told by John that in order to cancel my membership I had to do it in-person. So, I made a detour and drove back down to Morgan Hill. I was charged $32 for not giving them a 30 day notice. (And I just paid for this months membership see picture) Then I was charged $39 for key fob. I asked if the fees can be waived. The manager Joceline said that it's not her problem that I didn't go to the gym and PAID for membership. Remember! I am not in contract so what is holding me back from cancelling? (Even sooner) I paid 2+ years of membership (COVID) and she could NOT waive the fees? Key fob- wear and tear, I've had this key fob for how long? It's made out of plastic, how long do you think it will last? It's not metal! Contract- she checked to see if I was still in contract. Of course, she tried to have me not cancel but put the account on hold. She also tried to ask to have my account transfer to someone I know because of the low rate I was paying $32 per month. After all I had to go through to cancel, do you really think I would want someone I know get this type of treatment? Yeah, no thank you. When she told me my cancellation fee and that she wouldn't waive it. She ask if I would pay it today. I just wanted to throw my money at joceline as quick as I can and get the heck out of there. Disclaimer: if you don't pay your fee by "DUE DATE" they will keep your account open so that you can pay more. I read this on the letter after I canceled my membership and they printed me a cancellation letter after I paid (and never mention such disclaimer). Joceline had a surprise look when I said I would pay it now. Make sure to read those fine prints or ask them if there's a catch. People won't say unless asked, it's all business. I would think with COVID, they would have a better process for canceling membership instead of doing it in-person but I guess that's the gimmick of keeping people not to cancel. This just shows that they're all about money. No moral considerations. Plus, with technology today, you should be able to cancel at any location but that's not the case here. They have it so you can go to any gym but when it comes to cancelling expect the hassle. If I had known, what I had to go through to cancel membership even WITHOUT being in contract. I would had NEVER step foot into this gym. Life lesson learned. I can't imagine for the people who have membership and still in contract but want to cancel. Be safe, have a gym at home or go to a friends house with workout equipments. Don't waste your money on people that don't have considerations for others. I wasted enough time and energy but if someone can learned from my review, it's well paid off. read more

It's definitely smaller than other gyms, but no one judges anyone and I've never seen any peice of equipment get taken up for longer than 20 minutes. There's also an elevator if your not feeling the stairs. Happy to be a member. read more
