I love this place! Had a really fantastic training session with Carlos L. yesterday. He's super friendly and professional, really listens to the client's needs and customizes the session accordingly. He gave me really solid advice and motivation. Shout out to Drew S. also for accommodating my weird schedule availability. I love that this particular location has lockers, which the Sonoma one doesn't have (in Sonoma, I have to lock my purse in the trunk of my car before coming in, to feel safe). The gym is very clean, decent variety of equipment, rates are as reasonable as they can be in this current economy, and it's open 24/7. I also really appreciate the TRX suspension trainer, which I mix in with free weight training, and lots of workout accessories like various bands, weight balls, rollers, etc. They also offer several optional extra services. But if you want just a good place to go in, get your workout in, and leave, this is the place! My only wish is that the "home gym" rates that you sign up for wouldn't change when you use a different AF location for a period of time. The rates are better at Petaluma, but Sonoma is much closer to me. If I use the Sonoma location more often than Petaluma, my rates will automatically increase to theirs. Don't love that.... Ive been going here for maybe 2 years now. Ive enjoyed it, I feel comfortable and the staff are really nice! I do wish they had a bit more workout machines like another smith machine and stair master or lying leg curl machine, but I understand there isn't too much space so not too stressed about it. I really liked this gym. But working out is so annoying now... another member with an older white van always parks out front and has two super aggressive scary dogs. So not only is it very intense and nerve-racking trying to walk by to get into the gym, but I can also hear them barking at every other person who walks past the van while I am inside working out with headphones in.... Extremely tiny location. Very limited equipment. Charging $64 a month where I would expect less than 20 given the lack of amenities. Not a suitable gym if you want to workout. Edit- all the positive reviews just seem planted. I signed up here originally on a 2-week free trial offer through facebook back in September '13. What first attracted me here was the fact it is the only true 24-hour gym in Petaluma, secondly it's less than a half mile from my house and third reason is you have access to all the other A.F. clubs, which are almost everywhere so if you traveling you can take your workout with you! I'll be honest, I was skeptical about at first because it is smaller than most gyms, but it has all the equipment you'll need to achieve a great workout. It is also very CLEAN. What may turn some people off is it doesn't have locker rooms, pools or saunas. For me that stuff seems more appropriate if you're looking for a social club. It has a shower and restrooms that are always clean/maintained and that is enough for me. Comparing to other gyms in town without naming names, I have also been a member of the other '24-hour' gym, and also the largest, most expensive 'club' on the north end of town, and I still like A.F. the best. You won't find people hanging around on the benches or machines wasting time, in fact actually every member I have come in contact with has been rather polite whether they were asking if I was using a machine next to me, if I minded they change the t.v. channel or even what kind of shoes I am wearing (lol). Due to my work schedule, I workout at night during the non-staffed hours and to me it has a feel of my own personal gym in that you dont need to walk across the building to get to your next station if you're adhering to a specific plan. The staff also let me know that you can plug your mp3 player into their dock system and blast your own music in the training room or the machine room, when nobody is around. Lastly you also get a membership to the anytimehealth website which is cool if you want to track your progress online, the staff here will help you get your measurements done if needed. read more

This place is GREAT!! The atmosphere is encouraging and fun, the building itself is pleasantly decorated and nice to be in (AND doesn't feel like a fishbowl or a zoo, where you're on working out simply to show all the other people in town you're working out). Plus, all the staff is incredibly friendly and non-judgmental--very important for someone who has always been really gym-shy. Even better than that, Anytime is super active in the community (pun totally intended). I recently went to their free outdoor community boot camp workout, held every Saturday morning, and I was blown away by how intense it was--but also how doable, due to the trainers' tireless encouragement and support (even of someone as out of shape as I am!). Jon in particular is a great trainer, and knows how to make even the hardest moments of the workout fun, and how to push you to keep going harder, longer. read more

My wife and I joined Anytime Fitness in Rohnert Park when they opened in 2010, and have been continually impressed by the simplicity. I'm happy that they have opened another facility in Petaluma. Having this additional/new location makes it very convenient for me, as a commuter from Rohnert Park to Larkspur every day, to be able to stop off on they way home and get in a great workout in a nice/clean facility!! Parking is never an issue, due to tons of reserved spaces. It is in a very convenient location - almost right off hwy 101; it's on your way into town if you are coming from the south on Lakeville Hwy; and being at the south end of Casa Grande Rd and McDowell Blvd makes it EASILY accessible for all of the south side of Petaluma east of 101. Having it be 24 hour access is a huge plus. You can come and go as you need to depending on your schedule - even in the middle of the night! I have current memberships to Anytime Fitness as well as 24 Hour Fitness, and 90% of my time in the gym is spent at Anytime Fitness because of the people and facility. I cannot stand having to wait for equipment, or to be in an overcrowded gym. You won't get that at Anytime Fitness!! The membership pricing is a great value and the location in Petaluma is outstanding!!! I've been to several of the gyms in Petaluma and historically been a member at a few. Anytime Fitness takes the cake!! The gym is always VERY CLEAN, which can't be said about most of the other gyms in Petaluma. No, there isn't a pool, and no, they don't have daycare; but they have great classes, clean facility, state of the art equipment, and the best people around!! When it comes down to it, do you really need a pool and daycare? I know some truly do, but my wife and I are just like most people with two young kids - historically we used to think that we "absolutely had to have" a gym with daycare and really wanted pool access. What we found in all actuality is that my wife and I have very different schedules and rarely work out together, so the daycare wasn't necessity - used a few times a year. The pool, well let's just say I used it once or twice in about two years, when I thought it would be used all the time. read more

Anytime Fitness is Petaluma is a high quality gym in all aspects of the business. It is always very clean (almost obsessively) as there are workers consistently wiping down equipment, sweeping and doing spot cleaning. Their equipment appears brand new, no cracking of the fabric on the seats or benches, high quality weights and bar bells with no rusting or chipping. They have a wide array of equipment without making it appear crowded. They even have a separate room for yoga/plyometric/stretching etc. I have never seen this gym crowded. I use the gym Monday-Wednesday afternoons and most of the time I have the whole gym to myself. When you sign up for a membership, very reasonably priced at $40 a month, they give your own personal state-of-the-art security key-fob that will gain you access to all Anytime Fitness locations throughout the country. They have security cameras that monitor the gym 24/7 offering extra security, particularly for at night when there may not be any workers present. Not sure where the complaints about customer service came from. When I first entered their facility to inquire about a membership, Jon (one of the owners) noticed me standing in the lobby from across the gym and interrupted his own conversation to greet me and assist me just moments later. These guys know most of the members by name and they do everything to make you actually feel like a member (free t-shirts, boot-camps, 80's nights and a complimentary personal training session). Any gripes about this place probably come from the the privileged types that are never satisfied with anything. Awesome! read more

A perfect gym for all types of gym-goers. It's convenient - since it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you can't beat those hours! Anytime Fitness may not be the biggest gym, but it has top-notch equipment - from cardio equipment, to strength equipment, and free-weights. They even have a room where you can do functional training! (Tire flips, etc) It's always clean, never too busy, and most importantly, their staff is personable. Most times you go to a big gym and you're dealing with random staff who don't know who you are and even worse...they don't care about you. This is NOT the case at Anytime Fitness in Petaluma! I've even met the owner, Ben - and he's genuinely engaged with all of his members. Hard to find that anywhere else. I had the option to try other gyms and I must say...Anytime Fitness has my business because of the convenience, wonderful environment, and great staff. Kudos Anytime, kudos. read more

What a great neighborhood gym! Yes, the sq. feet is less than expected for a "standard gym" but the facility is almost never busy for you to complete your full routine. It's available 24 hours, so pick a time that works and badge in at the door. Beyond free weights and standard machines the gym has other creative equipment that encourages you to mix it up (both weight, cardio, circuit). The entire management is very friendly and helpful and the community is a great variety of people all working towards personal fitness goals without any showmanship behavior. I love Anytime Fitness!! This has got to be one of the best gyms in Petaluma. They are open 24/7, space is clean, usually not crowded unless you go at a peak time, and ample parking out front. I love this gym! I've been going to Anytime Fitness for almost a year and I can honestly say that the positive atmosphere, incredible staff, and supportive members have made the biggest difference in my fitness. When going to the gym feels like going to your second home, you know you've found a good one. I have to give a huge shout out to Trainer Jon Sargent. I would not be where I am today without Jon's incredible support. He truly has inspired me to become the best version of myself. If anyone wants accountability or to take their fitness to the next level with expert guidance, I cannot recommend personal training enough. Wanting to burn insane calories and get super strong? I have to say that this pandemic has been hard on everyone especially gym owners! Being closed they still wanted there membership dues. Then sent it to collection I called them multiple times they would not return my call. The collection agency called them to get some clarity they would not return there call. I'd give this gym three or more stars. When my family and I first joined, we loved it here; the equipment is fairly clean and suffices a normal workout; it hardly gets too crowded; there's always an ample amount of parking, and the staff is friendly enough. However, the only complaint and reason for a "two star rating" is because of one of their trainers. Since we've joined, he's given (me in particular) awful looks in the mirrors, stared at me with a disgusted look on his face, made rude comments about myself and about my husband and son to his clients, dissembled pieces of equipment he clearly knew I was using it...pretty much his actions are extremely immature and very unprofessional for a "trainer". Of the 20 years we've been members of multiple large and boutique gyms throughout California and Hawaii, this is one gym that I've been treated poorly by a discourteous staff/trainer. I've never conversed with him, and I try my hardest to keep my distance from this kid, but it isn't easy trying to get a workout in when I'm being "silently bullied" and joked about by an employee. Perhaps a few comments from him about my skin tone/my race could be the reason why I shouldn't be respected and accepted into this little gym?? read more

Went to go check it out today and walked in and was never acknowledged by the guy in the office sitting behind a desk. Granted he was talking to another customer but he could have at least looked up and acknowledged my existence. I awkwardly looked at the brochures in the lobby hoping he would at least say hello or I'll be with you in a few but alas nothing. He made me feel like he had no interest in my business. Another potential customer waked in as well and he got the same response.... Nothing. Clearly this gym doesn't want any business. My husband and I have been members here for about 7 years. We keep coming back because even though this gym is on the small side, it is well appointed very clean and super convenient. I love sneaking in a midnight workout! Even though it is a small gym, there are plenty of machines, treadmills, elipticals, weight training.... loads of free weights, mats, step training, excersize balls.... Whatever you need. There is no whirlpool, sauna or swimming pool. This is more of a GYM, not a club. People come here to work. It also is not a meat market. As a woman, I can tell you that I feel very comfortable and safe here. Even when I am by myself late at night. They do have small panic alarms that are wearable if you are here late at night by yourself but, I have never felt the need to wear one. I recently decided I needed some training as I am over 50 and was still trying to workout like I did in my 20s. Ron Ritz really helped me to work around the changes my body has gone through and taught me a lot about my body mechanics and how to avoid injury. At the end of the three months of working with him, I was bikini worthy. Tight and right! Ron is very knolagabe and is constantly learning more and more to keep his training current. Love that guy! This gym is constantly trying to improve and I have found them to be very willing to listen to and act on customer suggestions and complaints. Also, I recently was ill and was bed ridden for two months. I asked to suspend my membership but they did one better. They comped my husband and myself for two months! I am a big fan of this small gym and the staff. Let me start by saying I have been a member of 24 hour fitness for 18 years (and still am one), but even with the 24 hour fitness in Petaluma, I chose to get an additional membership here at Anytime. The team (I worked with Drew) is extremely cool and accommodating and I've always been able to get in a good workout. I am curious about the people complaining about the size of the gym and the selection of machines and weights. Did you not look at the gym before you signed up? They have weights, benches, cardio equipment, cables, squat racks, ab/core machines, pulley systems, etc. The ONLY thing they don't have is an official bench press, which the squat racks can easily become one if you're not too lazy to roll a bench over. This place is perfect for what it is. A smaller gym that doesn't have that canned sardine feel like many of the other gyms, is always clean and doesn't smell, and has a respectful staff that will always take the time to chat or help. 5 stars from me. read more

The staff are very polite and are willing and able to answer any questions you have about fitness and use of the equipment. I've been a member since they opened in Petaluma and I love this gym! I love being able to go whenever I want, rarely do I have to wait on a machine and it's always neat and clean. The managers are always pleasant and helpful and parking is never a problem. My only wish is that they would get another rowing machine. That's the only machine I have ever had to wait for but it's not often enough to be a problem. It's so much better than any other gym I've belonged to. They have really great personal trainers and classes to take advantage of as well. All the equipment is top-notch and well maintained. All around great gym to belong to! read more

A great gym for all fitness types and levels. The positive and relaxed atmosphere makes it great for more casual gym goers, but there's also plenty of equipment and different weight machines for people who want to train hard. There's cardio, rowing & cycling machines, all kinds of weights and floor equipment, a rope climbing machine, basically anything you could need. Morning and evening classes are also available, many of them free. This gym also has a great program that you can sign up for, which tracks your calories burned. The machines are also always clean and organized, and it's a 24hr gym so you can go literally anytime, day or night. Great gym and great value! read more

I've been to gyms all over the county and Anytime Fitness in Petaluma I clean, affordable, has a knowledgable and kind staff and the new owner Ben and his staff are very involved with all their member and their goals. The Saturday boot camp is also a huge bonus. We are enjoying the clean relaxed atmosphere and the abundant parking is a big perk in itself from 24hr here in town. Great gym, great place to workout for the self motivated or person who wants an excellent trainer. The business hours on Yelp kind of throw you off, it is Anytime and open 24 hours a day. Plenty and variety of equipment for the peak hours, my secret is 6am to 7am must be a window because there are very few people during that hour, come on down and get fit. I always say, whatever way the crowd is going go the other way, the crowd in America is headed for the couch, the remote, and a second cheese-ball sandwich, consider making Anytime part of your plan to go the other way. read more

They would not give me a membership price over the phone. The rep states they only give a price after a person goes into the center and completes a tour. I don't appreciate this type of tactic. I recently joined this gym and am very pleased. I joined this gym mainly for its close location to where I live. However, there are plenty of weights and machines to incorporate into a workout. I'm a member of other health clubs much larger in size and realized that I was only utilizing a small portion of what they offer. Spacious, friendly staff, clean equipment, and is never crowded.

If you're looking for a casual social club, this isn't it! On the other hand, if like me you prefer a real gym where people come to get results, and become healthier, physically fit and challenged to do their best, then this IS the place! I have been training at Anytime here in Petaluma with trainer Mark Leiker for aprox 4 1/2 months now, and can honestly say the results have been amazing. It's important to note, that I mean that statement not just because of the positive changes in my body. It has also had an amazing effect on me mentally as well. Stress relief, being more focused and in general and overall confidence in myself I didn't think possible! This week I also found out from my dr, that my previously bad cholesterol number was cut down by over 70 points! This as a direct result of the work I've been doing at Anytime. To end I'll simply say, in case this all sounds too good to be true, or that the gym is somehow paying to say all these great things, you'd be dead wrong on both counts. read more
