When I am placed in these situations, I will say dumb, stupid things & lose my temper. May have cursed but never cursed at anyone & when you told several different things & sometimes, they had bad days & said things uncool. My overall experience their went from fun times to being felt judged & nitpicked at. When I was out of shape & skinny things seemed fine but once I started to get in better shape & wanted my support for my aging body as a man....I'm told im wrong for this? Why is it anytime my life starts to get better that someone ruins it other than myself crashing & burning. So little support or encouragement. Overall, they did not provide me with the recovery to driving again....I SHOULD BE DRIVING AGAIN but physically UNABLE & was in this program for years. They just eventually tell you dont come back for some time & I regret going back. They don't even have a good gym culture, and they WERE SO FRIENDLY & misleading & then out of nowhere super strict. They left me feeling confused & upset many times over the years. They did not care about my mental health or overall goal to drive! Honesty wasted my time making friends that turned around to ruin my life like so many do. Learn to treat people with known mental health issues better & dont have a therapist pretend to be their friend just to get uncomfortable with things they said. Childcare is frequently "at capacity," but parents receive no notification through the In-Shape app. You can pack up your kids, drive all the way there, and then be turned away, which means there goes your workout. For working parents, this is extremely frustrating. It would be very helpful if In-Shape sent an app notification when childcare reaches capacity or brought back the option to reserve childcare through the app, similar to how it worked during COVID. At least parents could plan accordingly instead of wasting a trip. Today, Labor Day, was another example of poor communication. Family swim is normally 5-8 PM Monday-Friday. Since the gym was closing at 6 PM, I planned to bring my kids from about 5-5:30 PM. I had already been at the gym that morning, and there was NO sign saying family swim was canceled. When we returned around 5 PM, suddenly there was a sign stating "No family swim hours today." The manager told us we had to leave, and when I tried to politely provide feedback and explain that we had used family swim on Labor Day last year without an issue, he just kept repeating what the sign said instead of listening to the concern. The issue isn't simply that family swim was canceled and it's the lack of communication and how the situation was handled. We PAY for our children's memberships. If services are unavailable or hours change, members should be notified ahead of time through the app, not find out after arriving with their children. In-Shape needs better communication and better customer service from management.

Most of her students had been with her for years, no other place in Monterey Bay has that kind of cult following this gym and its instructors have. Most people want to work out in a place where everyone looks like their ideal physique, and the people who attend this gym are definitely athletes. If you can get over your own insecurities and put in the work, you will love it here. Lastly, customer service is how it should be. Cancelling is easy. Signing up is easy. The monthly payment is low. There are no gimmicks or upselling or hassles. Just show up when you want to try a class and if you like it, join! Unfortunately with COVID I've been home doing Beachbody.
