    Seafood soup wirh white noodles
    Damian P.

Again for the 4th time I return. And when I crave noodles a I absolutley come here. This time I tried the seafood noodles with white noodles vs yellow. I asked for a hot paste to bring up the heat and was obliged by the chef himself. I do like the fact that the chef comes out to bring me the hot sauce, if course I didn't want to insult his food and he understood. The noodles here are always nicely done and the seafood will definitely satisfy your taste. It considered of shrimp, and seafood mixed up. I love the singleness of the soup yet it does offer you a warmness that lingers on the palate. I was gling to order the beef bone marrow from next door (yws you can also order from the next door restaurant but you have to ask) and this adds an element of more food for your buck so to speak. I do adore that they flyer this. I have eaten on their outside Cafe in summer but for cold days, inside it is. Very romantic spot (this time the partner was working) so I ate alone. But it was fine. Always a very clean and sweet place to eat and I highly recommend any of the soups. I've had various ones. Just the perfect spot to have a meal for sure.

For sure there's a lot of Asian restaurants in LaGrange. In a downtown alley is another one. Aodake is a cafe that specializes in ramen and noodle entrees. Go at lunch for the specials and get a bowl for a pretty good price. They even have a few vegan choices including miso ramen. Came at lunch and we were cheap. It's the best time to get something from here. There's quite a few of the lunch specials. It's about $16 and there's a lot. The one I got was the Spicy Veggie Miso. Hot shit it was for certain. This was vegan miso broth topped with jalapeños, seaweed, tofu, and soft vegetables. Really felt the heat in it. The regular spice level is enough for most. Great selection of ramen and other noodles to choose from. It's certainly better than the packs you cook in a microwave. There's plenty that's okay for vegans and vegetarians.

This was my first time trying Aodake Ramen. I came here on a super cold Saturday night and the place had a few tables occupied. I noticed that they were a lot of online delivery and take out orders though. The servers/staff were pleasant but maybe they can try to be a little bit more welcoming and friendly to the dining customers. For this visit, I tried: PORK BUNS-big pieces of meat and the buns were soft SPICY SEAFOOD TANTAN RAMEN- tasty broth with ample serving of seafood SPICY GARLIC TONKOTSU RAMEN- the broth was delicious and I liked all the components in this dish CUCUMBER SALAD- it was not worth the $7 Overall, the ramen dishes that I have tried were both delicious and satisfying. The place was clean and the service was efficient. It was the perfect choice of dish for a cold evening. They have other ramen dishes that looked delicious on the menu, so maybe I'll try different ones next time.

My go to for ramen cravings! Like their lunch special and affordable. The flavor is spot on! Their takoyaki is the best I had. Located at heart of downtown La Grange. Ample seating inside the restaurant. My phone order always correct though it happened only once when I picked up my order, no one was at the front. I waited and waited though the cooks noticed me already. I ended up calling their number for the front lady to know that I arrived already to pick up my order. Other than that, love it here.

Outstanding! I had the seafood ramen bowl. Excellent with just the right amount of spice. The stuffed tuna bowl appetizer and dumpling appetizer were outstanding. Great service. This is a great choice.

This place is so cute and great atmosphere! I was lucky enough to get some enoki mushrooms in my ramen and they are my favorite mushroom!!! The tonkatsu ramen was so good and the waitress was so sweet. She really cared about what we enjoyed about the meal. Tonkatsu is a great ramen for people who aren't sure what to start with. This place is also generous with the noodles which is a huge plus. The fried tofu with spicy mayo was amazing and I could eat ten of them!! The plum wine mochi is a flavor I haven't ever seen so I had to try it. It was so sweet and delicious and beautiful layed out. If you haven't tried mochi it's a must for dessert.

I'd love to visit this location, I just have a quick question. Does any of the ramen noodles contain enoki mushrooms ? I've been searching for a place that sells them! I'd love to try them specially if it's spicy!

My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I liked the noodles themselves and how much there was! definitely a lighter tasting ramen, so I would get this if you don't want something too heavy. zucchini and chicken negi yakitori (10/10): YUM! I loved the sauce they put on it and it was charred super nicely! amazing lemonade (10/10 yums): YUM!!!!!! I usually don't really like cucumber drinms, but this was such a good balance. the cucumber taste wasn't too overpowering, but gave it a refreshing taste. spicy tonkotsu ramen (10/10 yums): although it is not the authentic and traditional tonkotsu ramen you get, it was really good. Before dropping us off at the airport, my wife's aunt treated us (my wife, her mom, and me) to lunch. I got to choose the place, and the experience ended up being really great. Even though it looks like you are supposed to stand in line to order and pay, the restaurant also supports a typical dine-in experience. It's an open kitchen, with seating on the side. Once we were seated, we were given menus and a tablet to place our order, but our server stayed around to explain that she would be back to help us place the order. She was the only front of house working, and she was friendly and efficient, constantly going back and forth to service to-go order taking and dine-in. The one page menu has two parts: a Chinese part and a Japanese part, and had items that we call could eat. Once we placed our order, the items came out in the following order, after being made to order. Karaage ($6.95) - five pieces of all white meat chicken, freshly deep fried. Everyone liked it, though I wish the coating was crispier. Tonkotsu Ramen ($15.95) - My wife's aunt and I got this. We both agreed the broth should have been served a lot hotter, but it was flavorful. I was especially impressed with the Chashu pork, two thin but generous pieces, nicely crisped first before serving. Edamame ($6.50) - my wife's go-to when at a Japanese restaurant. Chicken Shoyu Ramen ($15.95) - Got one for my wife's mom, and then ordered another for carry-out. One has the choice of thick noodles (classic ramen), or thin, or rice noodles. Pork and Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao ($13.99 for 12 pieces) - one can ask for it prepared steamed or pan-fried. It's great value since it is machine made and guessing prepared from frozen. It's more meat than broth in the filling, and the taste and mouthfeel was OK. But I was impressed that it was offered here at all. Would get it pan fried next time. Scallion Pancakes ($6.50) - served last, this was outstanding. Very thin and crispy. Just wish it had been served first so we could all enjoy...most of us were full by the time it came out. We paid at the end through our server. My wife's aunt really liked the 'Chicago Dumpling' t-shirt that our server was wearing, and wanted one for herself. Our server did mention that they do sell it for $30, but were out of them at the moment. We were given take-home containers to self-pack, and was warmly thanked by everyone before we left. Good value food in a comfortable setting with excellent service: that's what I will remember about Chicago Dumpling.

I'm appalled they would serve us that, probably because it was close to closing and they wouldn't be open to deal with me once I got home and realized what they did.
