Chicken garlic sauce
Jason C.

I ordered chicken in garlic sauce. What I expected is what I typically get in Michigan - chicken in light brown sauce with veggies. However, I got a chicken in black bean sauce and no veggies. Yes, I was disappointed of what I got vs. what I expected. The dish was decent, but would never order this dish again. I also got Shrimp toast, which was decent, bread was it oily, which is what I expected and the overall taste, the toast was bit salty.

Good deal, clean, and open to suggestions. They cook to order, just explain it well enough and they will understand.

I did order the eggplant extra spicy but I did not think there was any (heat/spice) added. Extremely mild but delicious. I added my own hot sauce & chili sambal. Will return!

There are several ways to determine if a Chinese restaurant is authentic. For one, the majority of…read morethe diners are an older Chinese crowd. We have yet to dine in but we've ordered take-out several times and on different days of the week. Almost every time I stop by, there are several Chinese dining in. Secondly, they have two sets of menus, one consists of Americanized Chinese food such as almond ding, chop suey, and egg food young and the other consists of typical Cantonese options such as walnut shrimp, salt and spicy squid, beef stew casserole, and clams in black bean sauce. We usually stick with the Cantonese menu and have tried a variety. The only item that we are indifferent to is the pork chop Peking style. Otherwise we have enjoyed everything else and there are several items that we would reorder. Chinese Kitchen is a physically unassuming, from its obscure location to its dated décor to its generic name. However, what it lacks in appearance is definitely made up for in its dishes.

Went to this joint for the first time tonight for dinner with my partner…read more My son recommended their crispy pata and lumpia Shanghai, so we tried those along with their homemade siomai. My goodness, everything was so good! The crispy pata has an incredibly crispy skin, with soft, tender, and flavorful pork meat inside. We were told by the owner, Ryan, that they slow cook the meat in its own juices for 6 hours prior to deep frying it. The result is nothing short of one of the best interpretations of this favorite Filipino dish. Definitely my favorite! The lumpia is top-notch -- crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The siomai is garlicky and delicious as well. All of this for just $32. The price is unbelievable considering the quality of food they are serving. Everything was fresh and served hot from the kitchen, unlike the typical Filipino "turo-turo" style restaurant. They also have combo meals for $12.99 all day. I have to try their lechon belly and crispy kare-kare next time. This place is truly a hidden gem! You have to try it, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thanks to the owner, Ryan. I think you have a winner here!

It's across the street from Arby's in a small strip mall. You'll definitely have to make a U-Turn because getting into the lot is weird. Plenty of parking since it is a shared lot. We decided to do two combo meals plus the aristocrat chicken. When dining in, there are about 4 tables so it can be limited if there is a rush hour. The owner was very pleasant and he explained about the items before we looked at the menu. Lumpia was crispy and tasty. Garlic rice was a little oily but still good. Overall, it's about a 4. I would have given them a 5 but that rock hard crispy kare kare is hard to forget. However, I'll return to try other items. -crispy kare kare with garlic rice and lumpia 3 - I wanted to like this but the crispy kare kare was a huge let down. It was very tough to eat. I've had Filipino food many times and it was never this hard. It's a shame because the peanut sauce with the veggies and eggplant were delicious. -bbq pork belly (liempo) with garlic rice and lumpia 5 - I really liked the BBQ pork belly. Very easy to cut with a spoon. Meat was well seasoned. It is fatty, so it's best to eat it with rice. -aristocrat chicken 5 - highly recommended. Chicken is extremely flavorful even for leftovers. Meat is very moist and juicy. Nice balance of sweet and salty. I should have gotten the 10 pieces.
