Veggie fried rice/Mongolian chicken lunch special
    Johnny P.

Been here 3 times in last month and a half or so, definitely noticed that it's under new management and new chef as well. The food is different but in a good way. IMO it's better quality Chinese food. Unlike the previous owners, they use fresh ingredients instead of canned (I.e., water chestnuts, mushrooms, baby corn etc.) stuff, which I appreciate. Based on the quality of the food, packaging (like the fact they put the containers in a plastic bag in case of leakage or spillage, is nice touch) and inflation is a fair justification of the increase in price, so I can live with that. Don't get me wrong, the original Moy got inn was good, but if you want good quality and tasty Chinese food then you've got to try this place out. I had their fried rice. ( I judge Chinese food, based on their fried rice and this was tasty, kept me coming back) Mongolian chicken (my favorite!) Crab Rangoon (decent) Hot and sour soup (nice and fresh, didn't look or taste like it's been sitting in the warmer for hours or days, just enough salt, spicy , and sourness to the soup) The Mongolian chicken (upgraded to fried rice) lunch special is amazing. They put fresh veggies in the fried rice unlike other places where they use frozen peas and carrots. Planning to try other dishes next time. The staff/owner is friendly and nice. I hope they do well.

Just tried their Mu Shu pork with Mandarin Pancakes and it was really good. Also the Crab Rangoon was good too!

Great food, great service. Both times I've went the Sesame Chicken has been fantastic. The egg roll and fried rice are cooked to perfection.

They changed all the recipes, it's worse than a food court now. Will never eat here again and actively discourage others from doing so

Great new owners, menu a bit different, food excellent! Egg rolls are still great, less peanut butter, more protein and vegetables.

Food was terrible. It would have been better if it was tasteless. Egg rolls were very greasy.

This is truly a hidden gem. Amazing food, great prices. By far the best Chinese food in Chicago and yes that includes the city.

My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I hope this review helps Forbidden Noodles & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

Staff was friendly and not hovering, which I liked. They let me enjoy my food and only checked in when I needed something. I ordered the Beef lo mein. And yeah, beef lo mein is one of those dishes that usually tastes the same everywhere. The beef has that familiar Chinese beef flavor that i'm used to, tender, juicy, a little smoky, and piping hot. No toughness, no weird chew. Seasoning was on point. Portions overall were solid. The only thing I always forget until I'm halfway through is there's just not enough beef. I keep wishing for a few more pieces. Glad I found this place. It's right on my way home, which is super convenient. I'll definitely be back.
