Unfortunately, we were not in love with this stop of the trip. Our host was way too talkative for our taste (and not even about the wine a lot of the time), we didn't enjoy any of the wines, and the tasting was outdoors without heated lamps so we were quite cold (we were given blankets but it was still too cold for us). We mentioned wanting to go to the bourbon room when we made the reservation but they didn't take us until at the very end I had to specifically ask, and even then he seemed reluctant. Sadly, don't think we will be returning.

AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE at Aonair Winery. I highly recommend this unique winery tour. The property, which you get to see, is beautiful! The wine was delectable. I enjoyed the Grenache blend the most!

This was hands down my favorite winery in Napa!!! The wines are great but the service was incredible! Matt is one of my favorite hosts ever!! They are so welcoming, yet knowledgeable, yet fun, and the time flew by while we were there! Oh and not to mention the views are STELLAR!! We were able to see their cellar and caught a glimpse of their wine making process. It was incredible! Lastly, for the whiskey and scotch nerds - they have an awesome man cave / whiskey room in a hidden spot you have to see! You need to stop by and check this place out!

We were recommended Aonair buy my boyfriends boss and I am SO thankful we were. This was such a unique experience compared to the other 4 vineyards we visited on our trip. It is so low key, tucked away in a converted home, and you really get an in depth look at the vineyards and get to tour around the property. Matt was a great time and kept us laughing throughout our visit. The tasting is at no cost, and as they are a smaller operation you need to reach out directly via phone or email to book. The three bottles we ordered just arrived and I cant wait to open them! The bottles are beautiful with the dipped cork and will make a great keepsake.

One of our favorite wineries on our visit to Napa. The grounds are absolutely stunning. We got a warm welcome and a personalized tour. We sat out on the balcony for our first 2 wines. They he took us in his four wheeler through the vineyards and stopped at a lovely spot overlooking the lake. When we got back we were given a quick tour of the cellars. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Incredible just doesn't quite describe it.... the wine and scenery are second to none. It's. A bit of a beautiful drive up the mountain but with the beautiful day and the weather being perfect... we loved the time together. Small intimate winery where you feel Like family

We visited 16 wineries on this, our first trip to Napa with the total experience at this winery being by far the BEST experience we had! Our hotel concierge set up this reservation for us and when we arrived, we found that this experience was very exclusive, with only one other couple being there at that time. Dan spent a lot of time explaining the winery and owners, as well as the owner's history to us. He was very relaxed and allowed us to sit, and sip one wine at a time, while taking in the incredible views from their deck without being pressed for time. He took us on an ATV ride through the vineyard, over one mountain to see Lake Hennessey on the other side, from a beautiful gazebo they built on the hillside, in Dad's Block. We were able to taste wines while out there as well and then we came back and were fortunate to get a tour of their wine caves and barrel room and vat area. Their wines tasted AMAZING! They are definitely of a higher quality and worth a try! This is a very small batch winery, only offering wines to those who have visited and members. The prices of their wines are very fair, considering how exclusive they are and have amazing this property and this experience was! We can't wait to return and do this one all over again!

Boutique winery up on the mountains with the best vibe. Multiple people in the Napa wine industry recommended this place and I couldn't agree more! One of the best stops in all of Napa. You definitely won't be leaving without purchasing a few bottles because all of their wines area AMAZING. Tasting room has an outdoor fireplace. They also take you on an ATV that leads to a patio with wine barrel chairs and amazing view of the lake Hennessey. More wineries based on views, price, varietals at finevining.com IG @fine.vining Main varietals: Bordeux varietal red blend, Cab Franc, Can Sauv, Grenache blend Tasting fee: No fee to taste Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.5 Cute for pictures: 4/5 QPR: 4.5/5, average price $40-100

Dad's Block View on Aonair Property!

Sunday was my family's first time visiting Aonair. Jose was our host and we got incredibly lucky with this one. Jose walked us into the building and greeted us with bubbles. We sat around the fire like a family enjoying the bubbles and talking about the wine. Then he took us in an ATV through the vineyards, which was the coolest thing I have ever done. He brought us out to "Dad's Block" which is one of the most majestic views of the valley. We enjoyed more wine among with the vines, which just feels right. Jose ended the tour by taking us through the caves, which circle beneath the property and showed us where the wine is produced. Aonair is lucky to have Jose and we can't wait to plan our next trip back to see him. Aonair is a must-see vineyard if you want the full experience! Thank you!

Aonair Winery is not one of the big-name Napa wineries but it clearly is one of the most enjoyable to visit. It is located quite far above the valley above the Silverado Trail. It was the most relaxed wine tastings I have had in a long time. Sitting in lounge chairs overlooking the Napa hillside is not a bad way to spend a Friday afternoon. The staff is very knowledgeable and the passionate about their wines. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the product. I also appreciated that the winery is very supportive of our military service members with sizable discounts. Overall, Aonair was a wonderful surprise. Reservations are required.

The barrel tasting was great and surprisinly all their wines are pretty drinkable right out of the barrell I suppose because they dont have much tannins so they dont need alot of tiem to mellow. I liked most of them but at $250 a botttle I felt they were way overpriced compared to other high end Napa area wines we are familiar with. He has that rare ability to be both incredibly knowledgeable and effortlessly approachable, guiding us through the wines without ever making it feel scripted or overly formal. We were greeted with a beautiful sparkling wine to start, which was not only refreshing but also elevated the entire experience right out of the gate. It felt thoughtful, intentional, and frankly, a bit luxurious. And then, the pistachios. Such a small detail, but exactly the kind of touch that separates a good tasting from a memorable one. Perfectly paired, subtly reinforcing the wines, and just another example of how dialed-in the experience was. Geordy struck the perfect balance of education, storytelling, and hospitality. You can tell he genuinely cares about the wines, the property, and most importantly, the guests. There are a lot of great wineries in Napa. Experiences like this are what make certain ones stand out. Since wine preferences vary from person to person, this review will be about the tasting experience only. The tasting started with their sparkling brut rosé, which was pretty tasty, however, it seemed to lose its bubbles after a short few minute walk to their fermentation and aging facility, which indicates to me it had been opened for quite some time. The "tour" itself lasted less than 5 minutes and didn't really come with too much of an explanation--it was more or less just allowing us access to the winemaking facility and showing the barrel room. The tasting was seated in their covered, outdoor patio--a beautiful space--a included 3 wines in addition to the brut rosé: 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, 2022 Cabernet Franc Blend, and the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon 'RLC'. One thing I really dislike about Napa Valley tastings is when they pour you wines you cannot buy because they're available to club members only. It's quite pervasive in the valley and unfortunately, Crocker & Starr was no different. The 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc was only available for purchase to club members. In addition, if you like to know the technical details for each wine, they do not have any tech sheets/production notes available on their website or at the tasting. They provide empty bottles of the wines in the tasting, however they didn't match the vintage so it wasn't even possible to know basic information like the ABV of the wines. It immediately sets off alarm bells in my mind when a winery is opaque with the winemaking/product details. Some of us want to know the final ABV, RS, TA, etc, and to not have this information available anywhere is quite bizarre, especially with many producers moving toward more transparency rather than less. Our host was friendly but not necessarily super knowledgeable about the production of the wines. For example, when we asked about RS in the Sauvignon Blanc, she started talking about brix at harvest, which unfortunately has nothing to do with RS in the wine, which she later claimed was 0g/L--a value that seemed contradictory to the palate experience of the wine and impossible to verify without tech sheets. Overall, it was a standard tasting experience and from where I was sitting, not at all worth $95/person. Yes, I get it--Napa is expensive and they're selling "experiences" rather than tastings. However, based on our experience, this was merely a tasting and you can get a lot better ones for cheaper in the valley.
