Because the infestation seemed to be spreading to other rooms, I finally gave up on Orkin and called Rocky Mountain Pest control. I received prompt, superior service and after just five monthly treatments, these pests have been completely eradicated. It seems too good to be true - but yes, this is how good this company is. Dan told me that there was the possibility that the storm might have killed them due to the freeze. However, he checked all around the house to see if he could find any wasps. He always demonstrates superior knowledge, fast efficient service and old-school customer service (the type that is hardly seen these days). We have two precious golden retrievers who run around out yard, so I'm always nervous about doing Pest Control and keeping them safe, but Kenny and his team are amazing. We recently had a problem with mice and our dogs were chasing them and trying to catch them. Kenny's team came out and made sure to put mice bait boxes in areas that were effective but protected our dogs. It's been about a month and no more mice!! We had a gigantic yellow-jacket nest embedded in-between 2 newly planted evergreen trees (that we didn't want to disturb because they're trying to take root) in our master bath courtyard; the yellow-jackets would fly into the warm bathroom when we were showering (my husband got stung 3x). Anthony came out and "powdered" that area once, and told us not to water there for 5 days, but we had 2 days of torrential rains immediately follow and the jackets were still there a week later. I called Anthony and explained, and even though it was not Peak Pest Control's fault that the heavy rains washed away the powder, Anthony didn't hesitate; he sent Anthony back out the very next day to repeat the service, which worked beautifully. The initial consultation was fraught with high-pressure sales tactics including "mandatory" work items that we weren't allowed to refuse if we wanted them to work on our home, such as replacing roof vents, which they never actually inspected, that already had rodent screens on them, and proactive work that, despite never being a problem area for over 2 decades, somehow needed immediate and mandatory protection because "if you close off one area to the critters, they'll go here next". Sorry but the fear tactics just don't sit well with me. I wanted an honest, grounded discussion. Instead I felt like I was treated like some sort of rube to be taken for a ride.
