BEWARE! VERY BAD EXPERIENCE! My wife and I contacted Apache Air Solutions to install a new two zone air conditioning system and add a heating zone to our attic in November of 2015. We met with Dean (the Owner) who at the time explained he was in the military and spoke of honesty and integrity and we liked what he had to say and agreed on an "all-in" price and a start date. We quickly discovered this was not the case. Dean continually pushed out the start date, inclusive of no calls/no shows, excuses, and general lack of professionalism. We even had my Mom travel from out of state twice to be home while Dean's crew was in the house since both my wife and I worked. My Mom made the trip (TWICE!) and he didn't even show up BOTH times despite us talking to him the night before. When Dean finally did show up, he opened numerous holes throughout the house on the first day, and immediately started claiming unforeseen conditions and added charges to the overall price despite agreeing on an "all in" price. I was very disappointed this happened on the first day and I knew where it was going. The work we were doing was already very expensive, but because he started and there were holes everywhere, I reluctantly agreed. Despite the agreement, Dean still did not show up the next day and in order to get him to show up to eventually complete the heating, it required nurmurous calls and headaches that spanned several weeks. When Dean finally finished the heat (heat only) and said he was done, I checked the work and there was numerous issues, missing insulation, missing baseboard covers, the routing was not what we discussed, the piping was not run in the middle of crawl spaces instead of in corners so we could no longer use the space for storage, he took shortcuts, and Dean had also taken my old thermostats which were still in good working condition and I have still not gotten them back, despite requesting he return them numerous times. He claimed that taking the thermostats was part of their general clean-up despite the house being a complete mess after he left; ceiling tiles in the basement left out, which I had to put back, cut insulation everywhere, he left a trench that he dug for the condenser lines in the side yard which we had to fill back up, etc.; stuff that obviously should not have been. He came in, marked his territory and left a very difficult decision to accept his upcharges. In the end, Dean upcharged us $600 additional on just the heating! The heating portion of the job was not complete until the end of winter 2016 so we were only able to test the system for a couple of weeks. It should also be noted that I never had problems with my boiler prior to Dean's work and I can not say for sure it is related, but this year I have had problems with both my aquastat and damper motor which cost me another $750 to replace. Everything was working fine prior to Dean doing his work, but again can't be sure. As for the air conditioning Dean promised it would be installed for the summer of 2016, keeping in mind we first met with him in November of 2015, leaving him approximately 8 months to do the work. Long story short, Dean kept promising dates to install the air conditioning and he never showed up after he was paid in full on the heating. My suspicion is he was not getting his up charges easily from me so he bailed, yet he was still saying he was coming at some point, was just busy with other jobs was his excuse. Once August rolled around we knew the air conditioning was not happening. We ended up having to go with another Contractor. Do not be fooled. You do not want to get involved with Dean or this company. This is my opinion and my suggestion is to look elsewhere. read more
