From the very first contact they have been great at keeping me informed and adjusting my quote as I added things to get done moved. They were able to get several large pieces of furniture into the upstairs room which I wasn't sure would make it up the stairs My movers Jason and Miguel were professional and fast even as they joked and made a stressful day a bit lighter. The pricing was exceptional and they were able to add on getting my new washer and dryer on pedestals. I hope to not move again soon but if I did I'd hire them in a heartbeat. My move yesterday was completely stress free! I had everything allocated and ready to move to make it easier. Had some cold waters ready as I know this is hard work and a huge weight lifted for me. Jordan and David were super friendly. Always checked in step by step as they moved my precious furniture nostalgic of my first big adult purchases. I loved how they walked me through it. they tried to run into my car on 183 - I was in the merge lane with my signal on, traffic was very slow at about 2 miles an hour. Instead of letting me merge, which there was more than enough for 2 cars to merge into, they sped up and honked and almost an into my car. Needless to say, I won't ever use their business, and I recommend you do not either. If they don't have enough common sense to be able to drive, certainly they can't safely move your belongings. read more

Just needed help moving the last few larger pieces that I couldn't move by myself. I didn't go with the itemized option because because that price was very inflated. Move seemed to go fine at first. Movers didn't want to transport a few thing because they didn't want them to break; that was kind of weird, I'd never had movers turn an item down before but I appreciated their candidness. Loading seemed to go fine, issues arose at offload though. One of the movers forgot to strap down my wooden dresser, which fell down onto my wooden dining room table damaging both items. I wasn't too upset yet, I work with wood I felt I could decently mend these issues. Offload proceeded, and as they were grabbing the couches I told the movers that I was going to need to put the feet on. They acknowledged and after struggling to get the couches through the door they left them on their back telling me it was so I could more easily put the feet on later. I didn't think anything of it and went ahead and paid them before going back to the old house to grab the remaining items, however when I returned that night and flipped my couched up after putting on the feet I was not very happy. The backs of both of my leather couches had been ripped. Now I was annoyed, but I figured Apache would cover some of the damages so I quickly got in contact with them and explained the situation. After getting in contact with Christy however, I was met with seemingly indifference; she gave me a very small settlement offer and just kept quoting stuff that wasn't anywhere in the contract I signed. I acknowledged that I was aware of the 60 cents per pound of damages clause in the contract however she said that the weights for items were predetermined through a Military Weights and Depreciation Guide. That wasn't in the contract, and I couldn't find anything online about this 'guide' or through the DMV saying that that's how this was supposed to work. I offered to weigh the items, she that that that wasn't allowed. I elected to just get a refund for the move itself, she said she couldn't do that. I asked for a shred of flexibility seeing as how the move that initially cost me about $300 ended up tacking on a couple thousand dollars in damages, and she told me that if I didn't like it that I was more that welcome to take it up with the DMV but that the process could take months and that the DMV usually sided with the moving company anyways. At this point I was feeling rather beat-down and was about to take the offer, when I figured I had nothing else to lose so I might as well reach out to the DMV. After somewhat pleading with the phone operator at the DMV, I was pushed through to an inspector who after hearing what I had been told informed me that I had been lied to and that this wan't the first time he'd had to deal Apache about this kind of shenanigans. Now I was mad, but with the DMV now backing me I was able to actually get some progress with Christy and Apache. Turns out the the Military Weights and Depreciation Guide Christy was using was some relic from the 70's and you're actually more that welcome to weigh the items yourself. After borrowing 4 scales I was able to get all my items weighed so that I could get a fairer settlement per the original contract. It still took Apache nearly 3 Months to get that settlement to me, but at least I got it. In short: 1) It seems like this is a somewhat common occurrence at Apache 2) When in doubt just reach out to the DMV, don't really bother being nice you won't get it from them. 3) I recommend Jackalope Moving, they moved the exact same pieces of furniture about 6 months before this move and didn't damage anything while costing about the same amount of money. read more

We contracted with Apache Moving and Storage because of their user friendly online quote page. WRONG decision! Because while they do have most of the general items one would find in a home on the 'Check the Box of the Items being Moved' list, they obviously can't have everything. So, when we saw the Comments Box located DIRECTLY beneath the list to be checked, of course, we supplemented what their 'Check the Box Blah, Blah, Blah' didn't offer: ie. large dog cage, case clock, you get the picture. Nope, they don't read that part. THEY DON'T READ IT!! They actually said that. Yep, the movers came and with barely a "How YOU doin?" did they start nickel and diming us to death....and we were moving very few items already. "I don't see a dining chair on the list...that's gonna cost ya. There's a plant, cha ching..." Now, we normally aren't so anal retentive regarding matters that don't really cost that much more, but this was different. We did our part. We were diligent in our inventory and even called back thrice to add that which we had forgotten and to make sure they knew we lived on the third floor. The price went up very little and we even asked, "Are you sure?" Yes, we got the day we wanted on very short notice. The moving guys weren't to blame and were super nice and overall the additional charges, albeit only $60 more, (Apache if you're reading) wasn't the point at all. Moving is stressful. We already had a million-and-one irons in the fire and for their office to be haggling with details to the point that they said they were "already eating costs" on things we KNEW to have provided was the straw that broke our typically easy-going backs that day. So yeah, two stars. Get the in-person free quote from Apache and avoid the confusion. Oh, (Apache, again if you're reading) paint your trailer...our apartment complex had three other moving companies that day and we were literally saying, "please don't let this be us, please don't let this be us...Damn." read more

Just keep in mind that they will find every excuse to up charge you on the day of moving, after a competitive quote during the in-home estimate. Worst moving experience of my life and I've moved SEVERAL times and have used SEVERAL movers. The movers opened my boxes and ripped through my items in search of glass and food and refused to move items because they didn't want to "be responsible if it broke". This was after I'd packed and taped boxes. They had no right to do this whatsoever. They were also very confrontational and one of the movers spit in my sink. I signed up for a two hour move that turned into five for a one bedroom apartment and garage that contained two toolboxes (which were unbeknownst to me) left behind and not realized until the complex I moved out of called me to let me know I had items still there. This was after the movers had assured me they'd removed every item from the garage. I was also told that two of the movers talked while the others worked which ran up my rate. I wondered what was going on as the same one guy kept bringing the boxes in while I took inventory. I was informed they were "offloading" but my new neighbors told me they were talking the entire time. How is it I initially had three movers but only one doing the work. Finally, I went outside and got onto them and they called in for backup. Another guy showed up, which made four. There is no way a one bedroom apartment should take five hours to move. That should have never happened! I am livid. Horrible experience all around. read more

We had made arrangements over a month in advance. Submitted a list of items, boxes, Harley Davidson etc to be moved out of town. Updated the inventory list with more boxes, items as they came along. Asked if they could accomodate the move. I was told absolutely, not a problem. Deposits made. When they arrived my husband told them the trailer was not big enough. Asked if only 2 guys were doing the move as we were coming from a large home and moving 7 hours away. They said yes and confirmed they could do it all in 1 day as promised in the contract. As they loaded we asked a couple more times if the harley was going to fit. Oh yes, dont worry. As they neared the end they told us the bike wasn't going to fit along with a lot of other things they left in the house and pulled the trailer out of the drive. We scampered trying to fit it in our vehicles. Along with calling all over to find a bike trailer. The 2 man crew could care less, the owner did not call us back. When i questioned the crew leader about items not wrapped in the padding he said he had them set up where they would be ok. Long story short - 7 pm we arrive after the guys would not return my calls as to where they were in the trip to our new home. 8 pieces of furniture were damaged - a family heriloom, expensive pieces and a scoreboard to our air hockey. After the crewleader was extremely rude - screaming and cursing we tried calling the owner. No answer. Then the crewleader called as we told him we were headed back to austin and would take the owner the check so we could talk to the owner. Voile' owner answers his call. I followed the guy to his truck to get a business card and overheard the owner on the speaker in the truck call my husband and i as*holes and saying he would deal wirh us. We paid the guys that night and then spent the next couple months working to get reimbursement for damages to our property. Very glad they couldn't fit the Harley! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

I recently had Apache move my apartment. I was given a timeline of 12-3 pm but the movers only came at 5 pm. On top of that I had to call them and find out when exactly they are coming. The movers were great though, very strong and efficient. But the company should have compensated by either allocating other movers to my apartment or by adding extra movers to make sure we get done as soon as possible after the delay. I didn't get any response from the company regarding this and we finished moving only late in night. If you go with Apache, I would advice taking an early morning appointment. read more

Worst experience ever! If you are moving Ikea junk you are probably ok, but do not use this company if you care about your nice furniture. 1. They showed up with a smaller trailer that could not possible hold our entire house of furniture, even though they were provided a detail list ahead of time. Ended up having to make 2 trips (2 hrs ) with the trailer 2. They hit the walls coming from upstairs to down with an oversized table, damaged the handrailing, numerous gouges on the wells and then had to stop in the middle to take the table apart. A simple measurement with a tape measure would have told them to do that before attempting the stairs 3. Much of our furniture is large and heavy, many times only one guy moving heavy pieces with the dolly, then dragging them on their side into the trailer. There should be 2 men on large pieces to load and unload. Even though they wrapped most of it, numerous corners and edges were marred. Also one piece of bedroom set dropped and cracked in half. 4. Oversized king sized mattress was dragged across the ground, guys didnt have proper method to move it, now it has marks and also sweat stains from them holding it up with their bodies. I dont really blame the 3 men moving it, they are just subcontractors, but it appears that there is no training on how to take care of expensive furniture, they just want your money and dont give a damn. It was a huge mistake to hire Apache and would never recommend them to anyone. Terrible Experience!!! read more

My first time using a moving company and it will not be my last time if I ever decide to move again, my movers James M. & Chris R.were the best, they were very courteous and friendly, hard working. I had a postal bed that one of the post would not come off and James M. offered to fix it for me and Chris R. informed me that my washer and dryer when moved to the new house that they would not be able to hook it up, but not to my knowing he hooked it up for me, these two guys deserve a great big raised for all the hard work that they do. I used Apache Moving and Storage and couldn't be happier! I moved on the hottest day of the year and I never heard a single complaint from my movers, Nate and James. They are great! The good: They are priced very reasonably Customer service is top notch They are available on short notice They are FAST! Nate and James are kind, funny, and efficient The not-so-good: They are a little rough on stuff. Nothing got broken, but some minor scuffing was noted on some of my furniture. The furniture is old and already had a fair share of dings, so I wasn't bothered overmuch. I highly recommend Apache Moving and Storage for moving. I did not use their storage, so I cannot comment on that. read more
