Binding estimates are a joke , 3x's as much...after pick-up. Late up to 21 days on scheduled delivery even after payments. 5700 a truck, same second truck, 8600.... The scheduling part was the most troublesome thing to get through. The website says there's a discount for moves during the week days. I called to ask them about it and they said that was limited to certain cities. They can at least put that in the small print of their ad??? I guess it's there to get people's attention. I signed up for an online inquiry and no one followed up. I called them and ended up having to negotiate the price down. Outside of that the move was good and affordable. I believe they have contractors that you pay directly. I'll skip the middle man next time. read more

The worst experience in my life, one was smoking and throwing cigarette butts in my driveway the other was listening to the filthiest rap music I've ever heard in my life. I ask him if he had headphones, he said no, I finally asked him to please turn it off. The other one broke my father's antique barometer, and tried to blame it on me. They broke numerous things and then offered to give me $100 for the problems after a $1800 move!!!! Don't use them!!!! read more

I spoke with Austin over the phone and he was even willing to stop by and check the weight before giving the quote! He was able to get me scheduled for a delivery that afternoon! Aidan, Jacob and Gabriel were AMAZING :) Truly the best movers I've had and I'm a repeat customer of AB Moving. They showed up on time and got right to work unloaded my 2nd floor apartment. They worked faster than I could believe and also made me feel very comfortable having them in my home. After the truck was loaded our only snafu was that their moving truck wouldn't start - but they stopped the clock, got it fixed quickly, and were on their way to my new place. We paid for packing and moving from Round Rock to Georgetown. Pictures attached show where they threw some of our belongings in the garage and left them. I called and asked them to finish the move and why was my furniture, etc thrown down in the garage. They said the truck they brought wasn't big enough and I would have to pay extra if I wanted them to finish the move I had already paid for. Since they refused to finish what we had paid for, I had to fill my car seven times to move all of our things to our new location. I will not recommend them to anyone. Horrible service! read more

This was something I never expected.... but ended up needing a moving service -same day. No gory details into why ....but if you think it's easy to find one - think again . I made numerous calls starting late yesterday. Thank God for AB. Phone was answered professionally. The young woman worked to find an afternoon spot giving us time to do some packing. She was so pleasant and patient. Her name was Alejandra, I believe. At the hourly rate for 2 men (and we were blessed to have Juan and Matt) they got everything taped up, didn't cringe at the situation-moved out the small quantity of furniture/ 55" TV's / multiple computer monitors and a slug of boxes etc. loaded up in the moving van- transported to storage unit- unloaded and up the elevator to the unit. This was all accomplished with in the 2 hour minimum. The company does charge a trip fee / but in my opinion/ their lower hourly rate still absolutely keeps them competitive. Thank you so much for making a horrible situation tolerable. We could not have done it without Juan and Matt and AB Moving. Highly recommend! read more

DO NOT USE!!!! Beware!! I have moved more than a few times across the country and in town. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW HORRIBLE MY EXPERIENCE WAS. The damage was so extensive, my bill to fix is over 5k already. Floors, walls, piano (I paid 500 extra to move), furniture.. I was so upset when they left that I spoke with Emma and she assured me that they would take care of expenses. I made it clear that I wouldn't pay the 4K plus for the move. I was told they would keep my baby grand piano and everything left in the truck if I didn't pay. They left other items at my original home and I was guaranteed they would go back and move them. The whole thing was a nightmare. I reported it and they sent someone to repair my floors and wall. He didn't have any tools and filled in my floors with mismatched paint. I was then told that because I didn't report it by filling out one form in time (AFTER 20 PHONE CALLS/EMAILS)! That they wouldn't be fixing or paying for damage. The movers broke an entire box of glassware clearly labeled fragile. It was full of sentimental glassware passed down generations. After submitting a claim they came back and stated they weren't liable for any of it. Everything was bubble wrapped so they really had to not care to break it. I will never be using them again and I recommend you stay away as well as it was a horrible experience and they had no disregard to any of my personal items. read more

Very unhappy with my experience. I had used AB in the past in the Dallas area so I am a repeat customer. During our move, the movers constantly wasted time, stood around and even had meal breaks all while we were paying by the hour. They seem to have been instructed to deliberately delay so the clock would keep running and we'd be stuck with the huge bill. We called to speak with management during the move to address our concerns and were shoved off and told to call the following Monday. We still never got through to anyone the following Monday regarding the ridiculous experience we had. No one has cared to give us the time of day. They worked non-stop. Dressers were tightly wrapped to protect contents and the men worked smoothly to load and unload the truck. the were polite, pleasant and knew what to do in handling a variety of furniture and boxes. Always a good experience. We have used this company 4 times including a long distance move from Dallas to Austin and had a good experience with that. I have referred them to others over the years who had a good experience in the Austin areas. Moving is a very tough job and there are no perfect moves, but all went as expected but took a little longer that we thought, but all in all was completed as expected. We had bought a new refrigerator from Loews, but when it was delivered the delivery team refused to install it. They (and Loews) said that it was too difficult an installation, and they wouldn't do it. So I had a brand new refrigerator sitting in the crate, in my dining room. I contacted AB moving on Monday, and they had a team out that Thursday. It took them three hours, but they got the old refrigerator moved to its new location and the new one installed. The move took all day for a one bedroom apartment with a three man crew, I know this is too long because when I used different movers the last time it only took 4 hours from start to finish. Also, the packing skills were atrocious they weren't able to fit everything in the truck and had to move the other stuff myself with the help of friends. Also, the cleaning service they offer is horrible, they don't finish the job and they promise to come back the next day and never show even when promised over and over by their dispatch. We needed to move out of our house and into a very small condo for our home renovation, so a lot of stuff had to go into storage. Juan and his team did a great job of packing and sorting things to the condo and to storage. Still though, at the end of the move we noticed several key pieces had accidentally been taken to storage instead of the condo, which was worrisome at first. However, Austin and Emma sent Jay and his associate the next day to fix the problem, and they were so amazing and courteous to help us find the missing pieces in storage and bring them to the condo.
