Rugs, clothing, lamps, and all sorts of things - it's like entering a fairy tale shop. We stopped in to buy the Hop Queen her early anniversary gift - a lamp she has been havering for for years. You can choose your lamp, and get the globes you want - want to swap them out? No problem, plenty of choices, like everything else in the place, almost overwhelming! There was a 50% off sale going on, so that was even better. We did get spoiled with our fresh brewed coffee, and had some Turkish delight to go along with it. It was fun to walk around checking out all the amazing items! And also see our oldest playing and enjoying himself with a friendly dog! We are traveling from the PNW, so unfortunately it didn't make sense to buy a rug but oh man! had we lived closer, or had a practical way to get one home, I would've!!! The name is perfect because once you open those doors it does feel a little magic. It reminded me of all the beautiful carpets, ceramics and art my mom used drag back from all her trips to Uzbekistan, Turkey, Nepal... I could spend hours in there. There was a big German Shepard that walked towards me in a menacing way when I walked into the shop that kind of freaked me out but he turned out to be friendly. I just came back from the most CHARMING store!! If you haven't visited the new Magic Caravan over on Burnet, go check it out. The owner is a lovely man (I think his name was Huseyin) and he has a gorgeous dog, ZaZa a sweet lovable German Shepard. I wanted to buy soooo much while I was there! They have amazing hand loomed silk textiles, rugs, hand painted bowls, platters, vases, clothing, towels, robes, light fixtures. I bought a GORGEOUS "table cloth" that could easily double as a wall hanging (I plan to use it to dress my massage table) and three fun cat pillows - yes cat pillows. Talking with the owner I learned that he has his own silk farm that he actually uses to produce the hand loomed silks in the store. I have my eye on a gorgeous hand loomed piece... The carpets are all vintage or antique carpets, in excellent condition, and are sold by Hussein, who will tell you every detail about their origin and design.
