Found Maui Hawaiian BBQ this afternoon after church. The Pineapple Shrimp looked interesting and did not disappoint! Just the right amount of spice (curry) and the pineapple chunks were amazing. My wife had the Shrimp Salad and it was very good - loaded with shrimp and veggies, not just a bunch of lettuce. Our server was polite and attentive without being over bearing. Not pretentious inside or out, but well worth the visit. The prizes were quite reasonable. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back. read more

We came here a couple of weeks ago for lunch. We were welcomed by a nice lady, followed by her adorable son. He assisted with drinks and bussing services and even quizzed us on our truthful opinion of our dining experience. Such a sweetie! I loved the TV that showed all things Hawaii. The restaurant is nice and clean. We are ordered the chicken gyoza basically fried dumplings for apps. I loved these and loved the dipping sauce. Then we ordered the quizzed shrimp pineapple rice. The picture on the website and menu is deceiving, you don't get an overflow of the shrimp on the platter, BUT you do get a lot of shrimp, and jump shrimp at that. This was very good with lots of good flavor. I love a dish served in food - like a pineapple. Also really enjoyed the pickled veggies on the side as well. Then for entrees I ordered the Island Fire Chicken. It was good, I did like what my husband ordered a little better. He had the beef and that was amazing. I would like to try other items on the menu. Stopped in at Maui Hawaiian BBQ today. Small spot in a strip mall, but it's got a nice, relaxed feel. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fast which was great. Everything tasted good and had solid flavor all around as I didn't know what to expect from Hawaiian BBQ. The only thing for me personally is the "spicy" dish could've been spicier. Not knocking them for it, I just like heat a little above normal levels. Overall though, no complaints. I'd go back. read more

Really nice to have something in this space again. Lots of Hawaiian specialties that you just don't see in this area. Japanese cuisine has become part of Hawaii for a long time.
