This was totally unexpected. My wife and I went to lunch at Café Lynn. It didn't start well when we noticed their thermostat was set to 66*. We politely asked to turn it up a degree or two and we're told that that was impossible so we ordered French onion soup to warm up. The soup itself was delicious, but it was served in a softball sized bowl and in it was a baseball size lump of cheese. It was hard to find the soup. For main course, we both ordered crab meat, au gratin, and believe me when I tell you it was absolutely terrible. I couldn't eat it. I sent it back and the waitress didn't offer to replace it or say she was sorry or anything so fine. All I had for lunch was a half a bowl of soup but when the bill came and I was charged for the au gratin that I did not eat that sent everything over the top. Totally unacceptable for a quality restaurant which they used to be if the chef can't make crab meat au gratin any better than that they should take it off the menu. I would even volunteer to teach him how to do it my son is a five star chef who learned from my dad who was a great cook and I'm a pretty good cook myself so I could go in there and teach them how to make an incredible crab meat, au gratin, but I'm sure they wouldn't be thrilled with that either. Well they won't be thrilled with my review or the fact that I will tell other others, and they will lose a great deal of business over the way they treated us today.

Where do I even start? Chef/Owner Joey Najolia is an absolute artist. My fiancé and I came here with friends to enjoy what was supposed to be a simple dinner. What it became was a surprise engagement party. The establishment itself is very charming and intimate. We started the meal with fantastic drinks and several phenomenal appetizers, specifically the French onion soup and crab claws. My fiancé had the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly, and I had the lamb chops which were outstanding. This was arguably the best meal I've had since moving back to southern Louisiana earlier this year. For desert, the table ordered bread pudding and blueberry cobbler to share, both of which were delicious. After the meal, Chef Joey came to congratulate us on our engagement and stayed around to chat a bit. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely looking forward to going back.

Really good lunch today. Hubby loved the pork chops and I loved the crab cake which comes with a remoulade over mixed greens. Not a huge fan of the dressing on the salad so next time I'll ask for a different one.

Always such a pleasant visit! Courteous and knowledgeable staff. Allie did a great job. Very accessible menu with "something for everyone". Kids, mom and dad and "grands" all find a dish they can enjoy and just the right price-point. Food came out smoking hot which for fresh fish and duck and shrimp is most appreciated. Fish of the day - redfish almondine with lump crabmeat kicker - was amazing! Everyone loved the Alfredo. Duck confit was tender and Dad ate it down to the bone. Lovely wine selection. Music comfortable volume and decor easy on the eyes. Just the right experience for a special occasion or a relaxing night out.

Had the fried crab with roasted veggies and a side salad. Really enjoyed how crisp the outside of the crab was and the dipping sauce that had a slight kick to it. You get an entire loaf of bread (I could not finish even half but it was tempting). Great service from the bar. Quick water refills. I loved that they had the glass bottles of their coke products--they just taste better. Cute spot, reasonable prices, fast service!

Crab claws (not fried) in a herb olive oil juice (use your bread to dip in that juice or eggplant fingers. Entrees - Fish, Ribeye or Soft Shell Crab (the best) That is all!

This was a real treat. I didn't expect this place to be as fancy as it was when I chose it for my lunch break in Mandeville. You wouldn't guess from the exterior so I was a bit surprised when I walked in with jeans and a t-shirt but no one seemed to mind. It had an upper scale vibe but the atmosphere was very laid back and the servers and staff were very nice and accommodating. They sat me at a table by the window and I ordered the Redfish Almondine lunch special and had the Blueberry Cobbler for desert both recommended by the server. Dare I say, this was the best lunch I've had in a while. If you're in the area definitely consider Cafe Lynn. Ended up paying . $26 something which seems about right for the food style, presentation and ambiance - note that I'm not good at judging prices and value but I thought someone would want to know. Also, I got a lot of positive energy from everyone I talked to there. We don't always get that in Baton Rouge which is where I'm from.

Great food at a great price. A hidden gem in Mandeville. Classic dishes professionally prepared. One of our favorites.

The…read morerestaurant was practically empty, except for a couple of businessmen who looked like they planned a dinner and meeting combo, lol. But that on top of the emptiness makes sense with the location, hotel, day and time. Pam took care of us and was a joy as our server. She knew the menu very well and was able to answer all our questions on top of being helpful and productive throughout our visit. We had the skirt steak and king Salmon with a side of fries and stuffed potatoes. The skirt steak was cooked to medium and it was amazingg! Pam asked how I'd like it cooked and suggested it to be cooked at medium rare. I couldn't do that since I'm barely starting to get used to my steaks being cooked at medium, but it was still absolutely delicious. The sauce that was glazed on top, as well as the seasoning of the steak killed it!! The salmon was also delicious. Very flavorful. The stuffed potatoes were ok, we liked their side of fries more than that. Drinks were tasty and refreshing. Worth the price. We also got dessert, a chocolate cake and apple pie. I wasn't expecting to like the apple pie, but wow was that good! And the chocolate cake isn't just any boring cake. Once you break the cake, a chocolaty liquid melts out onto your plate, it was perfection. The restaurant itself is beautiful. They're located on the 14th (if I'm not mistaken) floor and have the best location for beautiful views of downtown New Orleans and the waterfront. I'm still thinking about that special sauce on the skirt steak (heart eyes). Thank u for a wonderful dinner!

Very disappointed on several fronts. Came in on a Saturday night at 6:15. Was a bit surprised…read morethat this was the only nice steak house I could get a reservation for the day of, and had my choice of times. In spite of the Yelp ratings, that should have been a huge red flag. Ordered the Old Fashioned from the menu that was very good. Tried to find a bottle of Cabernet for under $150. There were none and only one cab by the glass at $30, so we opted for that (that same bottle sold for $165...math doesn't add up). The menu does not have a lot of variety. No garden salad, so I started with the gumbo. It was good, but would have been better with some bread. We each ordered the ribeye medium with a side of mushrooms and a twice baked potato. The sides were excellent, but the steak was over cooked. To make matters worse, our server was not paying attention so I had to ask another to have our server or a manager come over. The manager came by and promptly took both steaks away to have them remade and comped us another glass of wine. Nice gesture. However, the second steaks were no better than the first. I asked the manager if he really considered what we were looking at to be medium. He assured me it was and held the table light by the steak so I could see it better. You can see by the picture of the second steaks that it was not cooked right either. When the check came, they comped one of the steaks, but not both. Not sure what their logic was, as neither of us ate much of either. Told the server the same and Mr. Manager came back over with both comped. Apparently they were trying to get every red cent out of the few people in the joint!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered excellent recommendations that made ordering effortless. I started with the pig ears and had the fried chicken as my entrée, while my colleague chose the vegetarian option. You can find pig ears in Honolulu, but not prepared in this culinary style -- it was a creative and flavorful starter. The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and well-seasoned, and the honey butter added a delightful balance of savory and tangy sweetness. The ambiance was classy yet calm, making it ideal for both conversation and a relaxed dining experience. We also enjoyed lemon drop martinis with dinner -- crisp, refreshing, and the perfect complement to our meals. The texture of the beans, crispy rice cake and egg white, and runny yolk were so harmonious with the welcome bite and spice of the jalapeño. I loved the flavor of my Hurricane Buster.
