They were extremely courteous and professional and if they were a less reputable company they could've gouged me $$$$ because I was at their mercy.... but that wasn't the case. Have been going to Apex and Main Brake / Muffler for many years. Price is ALWAYS reasonable and the work is ALWAYS top-notch. I discovered Apex about 20 years ago when I had my brakes done somewhere else. My daughter had her brakes done at Apex. Same work, same complete brake job. So I have had a few estimates done with them . I had a water pump put in. Then I had a few estimates done after that but found it was cheaper to fix myself. The mechanic then says " Oh another freebie". Well you offer free estimates. I don't have to accept your business if price isn't right. Then I had CV axles changed and bearings. Over $1200 and upon further inspection doesn't even look like the seals were replaced on one side. I take it back again for a serpentine belt. It breaks after 30 minutes of driving. They put a new one on but tells me water pump is bad and it's seizing up. I have brother take it apart( hard to get to mind you). No problem with it. It was belt dressing gobbed up on the pulley. I was camping out of state when my car wouldn't start. The battery was new, no clicking sound, etc. It could have been a number of things. I called a lot of places, all closed on a Saturday or unwilling to help me out. Apex not only helped me an hour before they closed, but recommended a great towing place. Everyone was straightforward, friendly, and just wonderful. I knew exactly how much I was paying, where the part was coming from, AND they told me about a problem I may have in the future with a different part of my car. On top of that, I was without transportation, so they drove me back to the campsite, and then picked me up when my car was done - no charge. They also finished hours before I expected them to. I had taken my car a few other places due to a leak in exhaust. They often wanted to do more work that was needed, which obviously increased the cost. Some body shops quoted me $1000 to repair flex pipe and gasket telling me it would take 4-5 hours labor. I received a recommendation to try Apex by a person who had a relative that was a manager there. She was right! She said they would take care of me and be fair..and that they did! I've been going to Apex for years without problem. Then, this past Summer I took my Subaru in for an oil change. The mechanic called, I think his name was Brad, and said we needed a new engine that would cost 6500. I told him I needed a second opinion. As a woman, way too many Car Repair places, tend to try and get one over on you. Especially, with calculating the math wrong adding an extra 100.00 to the quote. I won't say which one tried to do that to me. :) But if you like Chinese food. Anyhow, Apex has ALWAYS been fair with their prices and even takes the time to explain well you can fix this now and fix this when you save up some more money. Can I give it zeros stars. Highway robbery for the breaks ( we refused to allow them to do them along with roters) my car comes with wrench for tire. They were too lazy to use their own equipment they used the one in my car and left it all over the back seat and in my coffee holder. Having moved into this area a year ago, I was still in search of a trustworthy and reliable garage. Thanks to a friend of mine, I took my 2011 Ford Escape to Apex for a brake check (noticed a rubbing noise coming from the driver's rear drum brake). Now, I did have to wait awhile as there are no appointments, but it was worth it. When all four wheels were pulled, the tech showed me both the front and rear shoes (I asked to check the front disc pad as well) which were still mounted...proving to me that there was no tampering with the assemblies, i.e., show you used parts which may not have come from your vehicle. The drums were fine and just needed a recalibration and to blow out the brake dust. The front disc pads were worn and I did have them replaced. Honesty, integrity, professionalism, and automotive knowledge are my 5-Star rating for this garage...and as a retired Design Supervisor for Robert Bosch Automotive Braking Systems, I know a little bit about brakes.
