Update: Had another issue that needed looked at. Since last time was such a great experience I came back. They took care of me and had me on my way later that day. I also took advantage of the shuttle service this time and that was also a great experience, the driver was very friendly and shared some funny stories from his days working in Vegas years ago. So far so good! Came here because a friend referred me and I'm not disappointed so far. I called a couple days ago and got a quote and set up an appointment to come in on a Friday. Just a heads up it was busy today and I heard them tell a customer Fridays are busy so if you need to come in later in the week I would try and make an appointment. Everyone I've interacted with so far has been very pleasant and kind. They even have a ride shuttle if you need it. I was sitting waiting for a friend for a bit and an employee just in with me to make sure I didn't need a ride or anything. Great customer service! 2001 F-150, 300,000 + miles. On a previous visit a few minor leaks were found along with some other non-safety issues with the main culprit being the oil pan gasket. They repaired all leaks and test drove several times and checked for leaks after each ride. As with the previous visit the work was done in reasonable time at a reasonable price. What started out being a scary situation was put to ease by the folks at Reeder's. Headed home to Detroit after a week in Chicago our car started overheating on I-94. Pulled over and found nearest repair shop and lucked out by finding Reeder's. I called and they honestly upfront told me they were very busy but they would help us out by taking us to a car rental or a hotel to stay until they could fix the car. We opted for car rental. They ended up calling us a couple hours later to tell us we needed a radiator. This was a Friday , closed on weekend, can fix on Monday. Because of their professionalism ,and what I felt was a true sense of concern I had them fix the car and hold it there for a week before I could get back to get it. They could have easily took advantage of me broke down on side of road but they didn't and the cost was no more than the best deal I've researched. If it wasn't for a 4 hour commute I'd get all my car maintenance and repairs done there. read more

I am a longtime customer of Reeders and even though I no longer live in Portage I continue to use this community minded service center. I routinely use their oil change center for oil changes as well as things like tire rotatio, cooling system testing even for things like wiper blades Battery replacement and tire pressure issues.Recently I had a repair issue on one of my vehicles... The counter help was first rate going to extremes to try and schedule the repair so it would not only work for them but fit my schedule as well. They estimated the repair to take 4-5 hours and would require an alignment on my car. The young man who I was not familiar with not only friendly but listened to my description before road testing and beginning his repair. My check engine light came on. Reedrs diagnosed it as my catalytic converters and my o2 sensors. I okayed the work to fix it. They fixed it as soon as the parts came in. They test drove it afterwards to make sure the problem was solved. They even gave me a ride home while they worked on my vehicle. Poor, poor very exspensive. They dont do what they say they have done. I took my Malibu to Readers because i was loosing power stering and breaks. My first stop was to replace the main battery. Both the parts store and readers determined this was the issue. After a new battery was installed check engine light came on before i left. I had the car towed back to readers and a new alternator was installed 800$ + . I got the car back, check engine on, no codes cleared despite tgem knowing the car was to be driven to Colorado. I tried to get the car back to them, no time. So tge car was taken to Bergers? Merrivile. They cleared codes and removed a nest clogging the airfilter and? I had replaced tge aux. Battery. After spending more $$, the car is running ok, no lights, codes. I guess Readers didnt look at the engine beyond the alternator, never inspected the car for my trip as they said they did. Exspensive, lied about thier checking tge car over, didnt reset the the CMU even though i told them this was a must. The Shop in Merrivile did what Readers should have and i paid double.
