However .. we utilized the Valparaiso location today as we were in the area .. attendant kept pushing synthetic oil .. we are trading vehicle in and just wanted a normal 5 w 30 oil change .. we change oil every 3000 miles .. vehicle is done and we go to pay bill .. its over $100 with a $15 coupon. I had $1490 worth of work done all at once, new radiator, new timing cover assembly, new water…read morepump, thermostat, hoses, gaskets for just about everything that may have a gasket, to fix a substantial coolant leak and small oil leak in one fell swoop. And man, do these absolute legends of automotive repair always leave me incredibly satisfied with their fast and high quality work. Within 3 days, not including thanksgiving, they had everything finished. The problem is gone, and so are several other smaller problems that turns out were attached to the whole "everything is leaking" problem. The rough idle is gone, the power dips are gone, throttle response is better, no more oil burning smell. I dont know exactly what they did, but the fantasy in my head is that these engine wizards waved a magic wand and poofed my car into factory performance state. I have a 2008 base model chevy impala with just shy of 200,000 miles on the odometer, theyve done plenty of work on it in the past, and im sure theyll do more in the future. Well i'd hope i wouldnt need that work, but should i need that work, theyre always the first phone call. The people here are professionals, in every regard. They make Jiffy Lube look like a bad joke. This place is busy, because they have a lot of customers, because the people in this area know they are the best place to have anything done on your car. But even as busy as they are, everything is always done quickly and without any flaws. Could not recommend hometown auto repair more, i know my ancient worn out car is in good hands every time its there.

*edit* Guest Services contacted me based on my review. They identified several issues that…read moreoccurred. The manager was using an old Groupon code, which didn't credit the correct amount. Additionally, I was upcharged for an optional "full synthetic" filter for an extra $10, which was never mentioned to me. As a result, they offered to send me a $30 refund, as I had been in from out of town and could not return to the store. It was mailed promptly. I went to this location for an oil change and tire rotation. I had purchased the service from Groupon which clearly states "Full Synthetic Oil Change with Tire Rotation or Aquapel Glass Treatment". When I pulled up, there were no other customers in the bays, and I was directed to pull in. I shothis wed the employee I had a voucher from Groupon, he told me the price $153, and said the voucher would be applied at checkout. After watching 2 or 3 cars that arrived after me, get their oil changed and pull out, they finally got the tires rotated and the vehicle on the lift to change the oil. After another long wait, I was told that I was ready to go. The employee was unable to check me out due to the Groupon voucher seemingly not working. He said he would have to call someone, and after a few minutes informed me that his manager was on his way back to the location and would handle it. (The manager was out picking up a filter they didn't have for another customer who was stuck in this particular hell with me). At this point I had been there for an hour. Once the manager arrived, he attempted to check me out, couldn't had to place a call to someone else to figure out the system. He finally got it all put in appropriately, and much to my surprise said I owed $48 and change. At my surprise, he said that there is always a small amount left over with Groupon. I said that $50 wasn't a small amount, he shrugged and pointed to the paper he had used to guide him that stated all Groupons only covered oil, and nothing else. I pointed out the voucher clearly stated the tire rotation was included, he shrugged and said all the Goupon people say that. I told him that I had been here for well over an hour at this point, he shrugged again and said we have a lot going on. Obviously, someone is wrong with how the Groupon is presented (eitther Jiffy Lube or Groupon). Based on the slow service, and seeming indifference of the "manager", I'd guess it is their "policy" that is incorrect. At the very least, since this seems to be a known issue, they should inform the customer before the service not after. I would at least have had a choice on whether to continue. The Groupon cost $79, and the redit this location gives is $73, sure doesn't seem like a good deal. Either way, based on the extremely poor service, I would recommend staying far away from this location and their shady business practices.
