Paid $350 for a tow and leak repair. When I went in to pay the office reeked of pot. Shady and you can't trust these druggies. The repair wasn't done or didn't take because it leaked as soon as I looked and the stereo, amp and speakers were all missing wires cut no broken windows or forced entry. Just $3500 of stolen audio. If you have been going you'll know what I'm talking about. This shop is on a side street and is unassuming in appearance. The labor rate is unbeatable and so far everything is great. Shane is honest and really knows his shit! All the people there know exactly what they're doing. I've had 4 different vehicles worked on by the guys there. In February they worked on my '11 Chevy Colorado. They did my brakes and shocks. It's held up great! I've gone 10,000 miles through hilled mountains pulling a trailer and haven't had any problems. I took my 05 Acura TSX here on 5/18 for a 500$ subframe replacement job which THEY AGREED TO, I supplied the parts needed as well as CV AXLES, MOTOR MOUNTS, SUBFRAME BOLTS, and A-ARMS. My Car sat in their lot for 2 MONTHS, without getting a call or any contact at all. When I went to go check on it ALL of my parts except my Subframe had been STOLEN and someone tried to steal my ECU out of my car, center console torn to shit and broken. I have video evidence of me locking my car the day I left it there on 5-18. My lawyer and I are Going to be filing criminal charges with The Sheriffs Department and a business complaint with the city of Redding as well as the better business bureaus. These crooked people don't deserve the privilege of offering " business" to their community. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE, and if HERE is the only shop that will do it. DO IT YOURSELF. In addition to the $1600 out of pocket this guy costs me to get my car able to be driven safely, he also committed fraud and got a $9000 payout from my insurance as well as raising my rates for the next few years. Now I have to take the time and energy and money to take this guy to small claims court and fight to get the $1600 for the work done to my car, court fees and the increase for my insurance for the next few years. I went here because I was told they do good work and won't break the bank. I think they do what you ask and nothing more. Just not sure if I would go back. I had my car worked on. The valve covers changed, spark plugs, oil changed, water pump, belts and timing belt. All that is great! but I got a misfire the next day which I never has happen before. I ended up running sea foam through the car and the misfire is gone. I just thought it was strange that it happened when the car never had a misfire before. I have no complaints about the work done just strange that I got a misfire. read more

If you bring your car here be sure to remind them not to leave your keys in the ignition and unlocked overnight or it may be stolen, just like mine was. Then you can be called named and have your character questioned when you tell them they were irresponsible. James makes excuses for his "reformed" ex-con service writer who straight up lied and told me he still had the key and didn't admit it until the police made a second trip there. Now he's spreading rumors that I stole my own car, that I'm on drugs, intellectually challenged, a low-life etc because I posted a warning on Facebook so that others would be aware of what happened to me, a customer for over 12 years that referred him a ton of business. I don't know what's going on down there any more but from reading other reviews, I see that James has an altered reality and forgets that when you treat customers poorly, they tell others. I'm expecting his reply to this to say that I was vulgar and abusive because that too has been his go to when called to the carpet. I have the police reports to back my claim and the text messages as well. It's unfortunate that instead of taking responsibility for his mistake and honoring the agreement HE made to make it right, that he's talking mad smack about me, my child and my refusal to pay him 3x more on repairing my replacement vehicle. I wasn't in the market for a new car, the only reason I had to get one was because Apex failed to use reasonable care and lock my vehicle and take the keys out of it. One star, I have to say, does not reflect their work. They had my truck back on the road in no time. I was very happy to finally be able to use it again. It was broke down. & parked since the middle of last summer. Turned out it needed a new distributor, even though the one that was in it only had about 2500 miles on it. I never could have figured that one out. It also needed a new we battery, since the other sat for so long. They only charged $600. Could have been a lot worse. The only concern was that i am now getting a bit over 7mpg, w/no trailer. It was getting 13, pulling a heavy trailer from New Mexico. While hauling a tractor home, i pulled in to ask if there was something i could do to up the mog's. Parking lot was fairly clear, so i parked close to the office because walking is fairly painful for mr, & went in. I got half way through explaining, when. I assume, the owner comes in bellering i gotta move my truck/trailer. I said i had just one uick question, & he says, "i dont give a damn! Move the truck!" So, mister smart ass, i just left. & wont be back. I refuse to patron rudeness likr that, especially to that level. To the feller behind the desk, i feel for ya. It must be a real joy working for that jerk. (He's a hell of a nice guy, by the way). I thought i fount a "go to" shop for future business, but no way! Ive paid my dues. Worked too hard all my life to put up with some snot nosed youngsters attitude! You sure find out a lot about someone's character when they get in a position of authority. I would give them zero if I could. Back when they were Economy Radiator I had them do work on my motorhome. So far I have spent over $2000 having their mistakes fixed. Now one of the new exhaust manifolds they installed is leaking. It turns out there are two broken bolts that they had somehow tried to glue back together and make them work. They never said a word to me about that. Now the exhaust shop is having to dig out the mess they put in there and then drill out the bolts. The manifold is warped from leaking and now I have to buy another manifold. I URGE you not to use this shop. Look up their reviews under the name of Economy Radiator and you'll see why they changed their name. read more

After being with them for years, and having given them a few thousand for various repairs, including a new engine, they chose start being dishonest and charging for things that the didn't end up fixing. They told me that they would charge to try and find out what the problem is, even though I already payed to have it fixed. They do not care about helping their customers. They are highly capable performing repairs and saved me 1000's. I have gotten minor repairs, an engine replaced because i should have replaced the water pump sooner. This was either a full top end repair, valves and heads and all the misc for about 3K, or have the engine replaced for a turn-key $1600. I took James recommendation and replaced the engine. Big thanks to APEX the car is still running strong without a single repair 2 years later. Recently I took my 6.0l diesel in running like a dog until it got warmed up. I did a lot of trouble shooting and decided to take it in, other shops said fuel pump, replace all the injectors and possible the turbo, between 3k and 6k. Again I'm thankful for taking it in, they found a vacuum leak in the exhaust manifold. Its a 17 years diesel so maybe not power like new, but I'm at least 90% power and thats 150% better than where I was. James was honest and said, that i have other components on the way out and told me what to look for, I'm planning to save a little and take it back but for now I'm running strong for $600 bucks. Sometimes you may have buyers remorse for thinking you over spent, but I'll tell you it makes you feel good, when you feel like you treated with respect and your happy to pay the bill. I highly recommend the shop. The other service writers are OK but James is the man. BTW James is a little gruff, my opinion is because he is the "subject matter expert" even if you "think" you know a little like me. He will get you back on the road and chances are save you a bunch of money. read more

I've been a customer of economy auto / apex for since they were located on North Street in Anderson. Unfortunately, I may need to find a new repair shop. We called on Wednesday to get the front brakes done. They said we could drop it off on Friday. I show up Friday morning to drop it off and Shane, who's working the counter, seems upset that I'm there and wants to know who we talked to. It was you Shane. He begrudgingly starts the paperwork and we leave after signing. He calls around 11:30 with an updated quote. I attempt to call them back but cannot get anyone to answer the phone until after 1:00. I agree to the new quote and Shane tells me it will be a couple hours. After 4:00 I still haven't received a call letting me know my car is ready so both my wife and I attempt to call. Once again nobody answers. We decide to head to town to pick it up. When we arrive we see the shop is closed and my car is locked inside. I was pretty upset but realized I would just need to wait until the morning. The hours listed that they open at 10:00 on Saturdays so my wife was driving by around 10:30 and went in. They were people present but they stated they were not open. After some discussion they agreed to pull the car out so my wife paid and we picked it up later. They had no problem with the thought of keeping my car all weekend after not calling to inform it was done, not stating that they were closing early on Friday and not stating that they did not plan on being open on Saturday. So much for me and my three vehicles, my two daughters and they're four vehicles being loyal customers. read more
