Well ladies don't believe the hype when this club claims equal rights for men and ladies because it is not valid. I just played in the level up tournament made it to the quarter finals and was the top female in my entire level out of 48 people so top 16 only female to be in 2nd or higher in my bracket and lost the quarter final by two points. Never got to play another female so it was me and my male partner against two males open age. I was told I played great by all the coaches but in the end my dupr was not high enough as a female....however as a male this is not the case because a male in the exact same tournament who has a slightly lower dupr than me and did not make it as far in the tournament did get rewarded with a level up and of course my male partner with a dupr 3.5 points lower than mine also got rewarded...so basically as a level 3 and a lady you must win the tournament against guys to be rewarded or maybe be a wife or bff to the coaches/owners or possibly pay your way idk what the secret is lol ...I did the tournament to prove a point that this club continues to be subjective and ageist and sexist. This is the exact reason I quit as they don't like strong independent free thinking women, they want us to sit back and be grateful that the men will play with us. They also told my 71 year old mother who is a larger woman that she is too slow and too old and big to move out of her level 1 however in the same speech they also told her that she needs to stop dropping, lifting and hitting the ball too hard because the other players can not get her ball. Unfortunately the pickleball coaches there have all the discrimitory power and reward the players that pay for their lessons and who are close friends. They claim that the players are in the dupr range but the majority in each level are a good 5 points lower than the claim. I'm sad that this club did not live up to its expectations as the courts are pretty but the management staff needs an overhaul. Hoping the new pickleball club PickleRage that will be up the street on Anderson Mill will have a more fair system for players.

I placed my lunch order using the QR code, but in the future I would probably go inside to order, as it felt like multiple steps. My son and I ordered burgers -- he got his with fries and I got mine with tots -- and my daughter ordered the hot honey turkey biscuit. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but what I will say is that the burger I ordered is literally one of the best burgers I have ever had. It had the right amount of savory, sweet, and crunchiness, along with the juiciness of the burger patty. I don't live in that area, but the next time I'm nearby, I would go there just to get that burger!

Or if ur up for it - you can play "who can spot the most things out of plumb?" You don't just grab a drink, you embark on a quest. How will you injure yourself first at this bar / construction site. Let's talk about the playground--because yes, there's a playground. Nothing says "relaxing night out" like cracked slide equipment that looks like it's one enthusiastic kid (or adult, no judgment) away from becoming a physics lesson. Add in a generous sprinkling of rusty nails and broken glass on the play truck and you've got yourself a full nostalgia-meets-tetanus situation. And then there's the legendary pergola: beams casually chilling in what appear to be old buckets, held together by vibes, hope, and whatever higher power oversees questionable DIY projects. It's less "shade structure" and more "structural suggestion." Bonus points: there are plenty of places to smoke--like, plenty. If you've ever thought, "I wish I could light up while contemplating my life choices next to a semi-stable wooden structure," this is your moment. Honestly, it's kind of impressive. Charmingly unpolished. But impressive in the way a shopping cart going downhill unattended is impressive--you can't look away. Come for the drinks, stay because you're carefully plotting your exit route.

We're not too sure how busy it gets here but would still recommend reserving anyways. The parking lot out front is pretty tiny but we got lucky with a spot, just expect to circle once or twice if needed. The inside is very nice and so was the front desk person. Reserving was a tad tricky online but check-in was a breeze. They do offer both indoor and outdoor courts so keep that in mind when you book for options sake. The courts themselves are great. Very clean and well maintained with a side area for bags or anything you don't want on your person. The whole vibe of this place is very Austin, in a good way. They have an upstairs area where it looks like you can hang out as well as ping pong tables out front. This feels like a very community driven place if we've ever seen one. Eastside Paddle Club is a great place to reserve a court and play some pickleball and if not for living up near The Domain this would probably be our go to spot. If you're in the East Austin area and unsure about where to start your pickleball journey then look no further. This is the place to go!

There is artwork scattered all around the property and recommend exploring them all. The art gives the place coolness and a great vibe. Cons: Maybe not so much cons, I just think APR has become a bit stagnant compared to East Side Paddle Club. ESPC is cheaper, with more courts, and just as many events, clinics, and open plays. ESPC also has family plan, which is very nice on the wallet. Level of play seems more challenging at ESPC compared to APR, and just generally more buzz. Still very solid place to pay, I just think they need to be more innovative or come down in price.

I visited last month on a recommendation from my husband, who follows the pickleball community online. When I first checked the website to reserve an open play spot, it was a little confusing: Level 1: Beginners (newbies and advanced beginners); there aren't many options for these sessions in the morning. Level 2: 3.0 and up (intermediate to advanced). This is the level my husband and I played, and we were right on par with the other players. Level 3: The advanced-elite level. Overall, we had fun from check-in to check-out and even walked away with some great T-shirt swag. I was so happy I didn't have to pack my own paddle since I could rent a Selkirk Broomstick Elongated there.

There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.
