A week ago, I brought my car in during the recent heat wave to have the A/C compressor clutch replaced. My A/C was still blowing cold--the clutch was just squealing, and I couldn't stand the noise anymore. I supplied the replacement part myself, and after giving them my vehicle's year, make, model, and engine information, I was quoted $520 for the installation and refrigerant recharge. I agreed to the price and dropped the car off. The next day, they called and said there would be an additional charge because they "weren't aware" of the type of refrigerant my car uses. This was frustrating because they had all of my vehicle information before I even brought it in. Suddenly, the new price was $750. I told them I needed some time to think about it and would call them back. About 5-10 minutes later, they called again and said the compressor clutch bolt was seized and that I would need an entirely new compressor. My options were either to replace the compressor or have them reinstall my old one. No pricing was discussed during this call, so I told them to just put my original compressor back on. A few hours later, I called to see if my car was ready, and they acted like it had been sitting there waiting for me. Then they told me the bill was $390. They eventually agreed to $300 cash, but here's the problem: my A/C worked when I brought the car in, and now it doesn't work at all because they evacuated the refrigerant and never recharged it. I understand to an extent paying for labor. But charging me $300 after leaving my car in worse condition than when I dropped it off is unacceptable. Their labor rate is $130 per hour, and the timeline of the phone calls doesn't seem to support three hours of labor. A little understanding, detailed communication, & customer service would have gone a long way. Instead, they earned $300, a one-star review, and lost a repeat customer. read more

This was my first time visiting Breedlove Auto Shop since they're located near my house, and I had a great experience. The front office lady was very personable and welcoming. Sam (I believe that's the owner's name) was extremely knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to. Austin, the technician who worked on my car, did a fantastic job. I had been to a large corporate car repair place that wanted $1400 for a non-urgent repair. I wanted a second opinion since the price seemed steep and my car wasn't in immediate danger. My coworker suggested Breedlove's. The office is very responsive to answering the phone. After I arrived, they diagnosed my issue within 20 minutes or so. Breedlove charged only $240, and I didn't have to pay for the diagnosis since I did get the repair at the same place. Breedlove's is right off of I-65 which made getting there very easy! My car came back in good condition. The facility is bare bones as far as the fluff on a customer experience, so there is no waiting room, loaner cars, etc. You can request to hang out in a chair in the office if needed. For me, the value of the work is worth having no fluff perks. I will definitely check them out again in the future! read more

Sam (the owner) did a substantial amount of work on my car. Part of the work involved replacing the front and rear pads and rotors; all he charged me for were parts, no labor. Once I left I noticed a squeal in the rear brakes. He gave me a ride home while the work needed to fix the problem was done at no extra charge! Honesty and integrity is hard to come by in this world. Wow a mechanic a girl can trust! Everyone that works here is so kind, friendly, and honest. All 4 of the employees were smiling and making jokes to me the whole time. The cost to fix my car was on the lower side plus the neighborhoods around here have lots of feral and abandoned cats because its close to the city. They actually let the cats have shelter in old trashed cars and they feed them and take care of them. How kind that this business takes care of innocent animals. read more

This was a great shop to go to in a pinch. My car was having some over heating issues, and after calling and telling them what I assumed the issue was, they gave me a rate and told me that I could leave my car there, but they would not be able to get to it until the next day. Once I arrived, they were obviously busy, so I had to find someone to talk to, but once I did I found the person (whom I assumed was the owner) to be very helpful, if also a little overworked. They allowed me to sit in the office until my ride arrived. Later that day, I received a call saying that my car was already available for pick up! When I arrived, they said that the issue was not what they originally thought, and the price was going to be less than their original estimate. I really appreciated their honesty. I will try and go to this mechanic again if I have car issues, as I had a well above average experience. read more
