Superb and honest service....in sharp contrast to the local BMW dealership idiots.... Ya spend $60K on a car the size of a bathtub...and ya think maybe the dealership would offer a minimum of service ?...to be fair...I bought the car in Chattanooga. Dropped the car off at the local BMW clownworks....and of course there is nothing wrong with the sunroof still under warranty....that wind noise is "normal" ! Anyway...took the darn car to Ress for issues unrelated to sunroof concerns...they found nothing wrond and charged me $58.....yup....$58 ! This included releasing a wiring harness improperly wedged between a body mount and the urea tank...also a check of the brakes, check engine light, and overall exam of the tiny beast. I offhandedly mentioned the sunroof issue after paying my $58....he pulled the car in the garage...and adjusted the damn sunroof...which was off ! The same sunroof other BMW places had said was perfectly adjusted. Low and behold, significantly less wind noise, no water leakage in the car wash...and he did not charge me any more. He also explained to my why BMW X5 M are so cheap used.... This is the ONLY PLACE to take your BMW.... read more

These guys are great. I purchased a used BMW ~16 months ago from the dealer located on Indy's north side. It's well known that BMWs are expensive to maintain -- it's just a cost of owning an expensive-ish European car. Anyways, I heard about these guys from a friend (and BMW junkie) who has a 2006 330. He lived downtown and took his car to Ress' for oil changes, simple services, etc. He highly suggested them because they were efficient and much, much cheaper than the dealerships. I thought I'd give Ress a try, so I went in when I had a headlight burn out. The shop was full of M3s, X5s, an old 8-series, etc. My guess is that there were 15 cars in the shop, all BMWs. I talked to one of the managers who explained that most of their mechanics came from the local BMW dealership but got burned out on the "corporate side." He gave me the story of the owner, and the parting line was "we do this because we love working on fun cars, we love BMWs." These guys have all been "master mechanics" and gone through all of the schooling from BMW. They know what they're talking about, and have the plaques to prove it. I have ZERO doubts about their abilities. They have also accumulated all of the fancy computers and technology that BMW has engrained into their vehicles. Topping it off is the service. I had a brake light go out earlier this week. I haven't had time to call and make an appointment, so I stopped by Ress this morning before work. I walked into the shop, was met by the GM who stopped what he was doing, came out to my car and exchanged the bulb. No appointment, no hassle. In and out in 5 minutes. The guy wasn't even going to charge me for the bulb! I insisted and he said "how's $10 sound?" -- which is likely the cost of the bulb itself. I know this would have been at least $50 at the dealership. I can't say enough about these guys. I strongly recommend them to any BMW owner. read more

I will never take my BMW M3 anywhere else. I was impressed from my first call until after I paid. Let me explain. I have a car that has sentimental value as it belonged to my deceased brother. My other brother and I do almost all the work on it, but recently wanted to get some help on a supercharger we had reinstalled after a refurbishment on hoses and clamps. I called and spoke with Dan. I am also a business owner myself and know good customer service when I see it. Dan did not try and sell my anything. He was all knowledge. He sold me on the fact that he truly wanted to help me get the car function at its top performance. He went above and beyond my expectation and I never felt uneasy or worried that he may do more damage to my car as I am with some people. From the moment I drove up to drop off My M3 until I picked it up the communication was excellent. Dan is one of the few people I have encountered that truly knows what it means to take care of a customer. Even after I had paid, he took an extra ten minutes to tell me about some of the stuff he did so I understood. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY NEEDING WORK DONE ON ANY VEHICLE. read more

My BMW is now out of warranty. I made my first visit here as I was having signs that my battery was failing. I didn't want to pay full dealer price but wanted the replacement performed by someone who would also do the necessary programming to tell my car that it had a new battery (search online info for why this is important in a BMW.) Anyway, I emailed them after hours and they responded at 7:30 am with a price and worked me in that morning, verified the condition, and replaced my battery. It was peace of mind as I was about to park it at the airport for 3 days and didn't want to come back to a car that wouldn't start! I'll be back. Hopefully not soon and not often... read more
