Walking into an indian store can be a little intimidating, but when I went in with my daughter Meera was so welcoming. We were looking for an outfit for my daughter and Meera help us try on some outfits. After that she helped us pick out some outstanding jewelry for the outfit my daughter was going to be wearing. This has and will continue to be my place to get my eyebrows done for as long as I live in central Florida. Their prices have gone up slowly from $6 to now $10, but it's completely understandable given inflation and cost of living right now. The past few times I've come in, I've had the pleasure of having Jolly do my eyebrows and not only is she quick, she is precise. My brows always come out looking amazing, all I have to do is tell her to keep them thick, and she does her thing. I've had my brows done by Jolly, Asma, and maybe one or two other ladies but if you want to be sure your brows will come out looking like perfection, go with either Jolly or Asma. It seems that they work on alternate days so you're bound to get at least one or the other regardless of when you go in. read more

Zero stars should be an option. I brought my wedding saree here to be have the fall sewn on and a blouse stitched. They destroyed my expensive wedding saree. They put the fall on the side that is the pallu. Idiots. The blouse - the used the fancy material that should have been the sleeves to make the chest of the blouse. The lovely material gets covered by the saree when it is draped. I spent good money and trusted these people with my saree and they completely destroyed it. The blouse material is literally unusable now. I've sent the saree to India to have the fall swapped to the correct side, but I'm told in fixing this the saree will be a short length and not fit for draping. She is there every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday and usually her clients know this as there is always high demand for her. The prices have been slowly going up the past few years but it is still very affordable to get your eyebrows done for only $10. Very poor after-purchase care. I bought an outfit for over $200. I wore it once, and the pajama shredded at the inseam. I took it back to the store. They offered to patch it up, though clearly the fabric was not sturdy enough to support a patch. Otherwise, my option was to purchase another pajama for $45! I expected it to be a replacement for their defective merchandise, not to have to buy a replacement. I have purchased many outfits there before, and was very disappointed at this poor customer service. I will not be returning. read more

So this is how the conversation with myself goes. "Do it yourself--pluck eyebrows and save time and money." "I can teach myself to thread my own eyebrows" Well yes, I can. . . But . . . There is a reason why we have something called professionals in this world. And sure it costs money, but consider the alternatives. Bushy overgrown brows, or in my case non existent brows with no shape whatsoever due to good intentioned plucking. DIY is not always a bargain or time saver. It is a walking disaster that sets the tone for your entire face. So I was thrilled to discover this shop that offers threading of face, lips, etc, eyelash extensions, facials, henna application and much more. For only 6.99 for threading why would you not? Tamer, the only male stylist, was able to make shape out of my non existent brows. Yes, you can make something out of nothing. Very personable and friendly. The salon is located in a store offering Indian products, clothing, and jewelry. Even though belly dance is middle Eastern, I'm sure I will be back at some point to buy costuming pieces. . . I went to get my eyebrows done yesterday with Jolly but I couldn't remember her schedule so I asked the girl at the front desk and she told me that Jolly would be there on Friday. But, I didn't have space to go the next day because Im going on a trip. The lady (Tamer) who was doing eyebrows that day was very hostile saying "everyone asks about Jolly but after they get their eyebrows done with me they don't come back with Jolly" a comment that seemed very unprofessional. Anyways I stayed to get my brows done and it turns out that when I see my brows it was not what I expected. The lady damaged the frame of my eyebrows. I do not know if She use an old thread but she made several cuts on my eyebrows that now I am with a very swollen area. She made my eyebrows very thin and one of them is shorter than the other. The longest eyebrow looks like it has a curve. Definitely my worst experience. My recommendation, if you want to have your eyebrows well trimmed look for Jolly. read more

This is about the Boutique, not the salon. Let's start with the good...the ladies helping out in the boutique are very nice and helpful. The store claims to have one-of-kind Pakistani outfits. I needed an outfit to wear to a wedding. Found something I semi-liked in georgette, but it needed adjustments and had some tears and the accent glasswork was separating from the top in places. I was told it could easily be fixed, but the tailor would return the following Saturday. Little did I realize this was a substandard piece with much more missing beadwork (upon much closer look), and poor quality georgette. The top is also sown asymmetrically i.e. the two sides do not match! I did not realize I had to check everything minutely. My bad. I bought it on sale for $150, plus paid for the adjustments...even for the slight tears in the georgette and fixing portions of the beadwork the proprietor assured me could be done. More fool me for trusting the proprietor. For an additional $45. The tailor did some minimal adjustments but I had to take it back for readjustment! Thanks goodness I can sew a bit because I spent another 8 hours correcting the errors and mending other tears I found. However, some of the glassworks is missing and cannot be replaced because I cannot find similar glass. I would not recommend this boutique. Customers beware! If you must use this boutique, please check the piece very carefully! read more

Inside this humble little shop is the BEST EYEBROW THREADER I've ever met. Her name is Jolly, and she is my new Eyebrow Guru. When she threads your eyebrows, it doesn't hurt. I don't know how she does it, but unlike other threaders I've been to, I felt zero pain when she threaded my brows. Her work is perfect, she doesn't miss a single hair, and she will make you and your eyebrows look gorgeous. I'm talking runway ready, supermodel gorgeous. She's like the Indian version of Anastasia of Beverly Hills, but way more affordable. Seriously, for only $7, why haven't you gotten your brows done here yet? Stopped in today to get my eyebrows done, and it was by quick and she did a pretty good job. She didn't do any tweezing to clean up my brows afterward, but there was hardly an hair to clean up, so no biggie. She was also very conscientious about not wanting to make them too thin, which I appreciated. There is a $10 min for credit cards though, and brows are only $7, just FYI. From school to bellydancing on the usual I am what you call and extremely busy girl. I live practically 40 minutes away from Apna Andaazz in Oviedo and yet the only person I continue to go to is Tamer the only male stylist there he is great! I used to get my eyebrows waxed, then just plucked, but not until he threaded them did I see a shape I actually wanted to maintain and love. As a performer at Disney and where ever Florida decides to take me he has also done a great job at make-up, in other words he knows how to flatter people's eye shape something that not everyone knows how to do. Great spot to go for eyebrow threading! The salon is in the back of the shop. It's a little busy on the weekends though (which you know means it's good!). If you want to get in and get out, it might best to go on a week day. They automatically apply rose water to soothe the area afterwards, so speak up if you are sensitive to that. It is soothing, but the scent is a little strong. There is a $10 minimum for credit card, so bring cash if you don't plan to shop or do any other salon services. read more
