Before my wedding weekend, I came here with my MOH to get our nails done. It was a disappointing experience to say the least. My friend came in with nail stickers (you know the ones that you buy at the drugstore that you just stick on), and the nail technician that was working on her was getting visibly annoyed that my friend came in with stickers on. She started complaining how hard it was to take off and acetone itself won't do it. Basically, she was giving my friend major attitude and making her feel uncomfortable and guilty that she dare come in this way and making her job difficult. My friend told her multiple times that she's done this before and that all it takes is acetone OR she can just peel it off bc in fact, it's a sticker. The technician continued to shake her head in frustration. Eventually, it did come off, and just as my friend said, all it required was peeling and some acetone. It doesn't end here. My friend wasn't happy with her nail color, and before the technician could move on to the other hand, she asked her if she could change to another color. The technician grumpily slammed her tools and gave my friend a glare and basically walked away because she was frustrated. My friend immediately refused to get any more service because who wants to be treated this way? The technician that worked on me ended up coming in to save the day, because after she did my nails, she offered to help my friend with hers. We complained to the manager on duty, but to be honest, I don't know what happened afterwards. I did tell the MOD that she needs to talk to the technician, because she was not just subtly rude - she was overtly rude. Also, she shouldn't be slamming sharp tools in front of customers. My friend told me this a few hours after our disastrous nails and when she did, I was livid. Apparently, the technician had nicked her skin and one of her fingers bled. She alerted the technician that she was being too rough, and this was before the episode in which she threw down her tools and walked away. I am never going here again. I thought of checking out the Cap Hill location, but one experience at the Queen Anne location is enough for me. read more

I come here frequently and over the last 3-4 months the quality has substantially declined. The over schedule so everyone is hurried and skimp on quality. They consistently have issues with their clear coats becoming discolored and not painting it to the edge. The end result from my pedicure was less than satisfactory- I could have done better myself! I had a 10am appointment and was shuffled through a line of other 10am appointment people checking in and told to pick a shellac color and have a seat. The color choice was slim... like 1/4 of the choices at other salons. The color books were falling apart and dirty. The woman who completed my service came by sometime later - 10:15ish (no clue why there was a wait, but all of us were just sitting around waiting for our appointments to start). My service was ok, but she did catch my skin with nail clippers. The massage was almost non existent and left my skin feeling greasy. Most disappointing was the polish has already started to chip after less than 10 hours. I've never had shellac do this ever. Won't be returning. read more

I cannot rave enough about this place! After moving from the Philadelphia I was on the hunt for a good nail salon and it took me awhile to find it! I finally gave Apollo a try after a friend suggested it and boy am I glad I did! I don't even live in QA but I make the trek there just for this place. Main things I look for in a salon: cleanliness, attentive & professional staff and atmosphere. Apollo hits the mark on all of these! I'm usually pretty bad at scheduling an appointment and they are almost always full when I go there on a Saturday afternoon, yet they always work with me and have been able to accommodate me. I never felt rushed and the women who work there always take the time to make sure your nails look perfect. I don't know how they do it but my gel lasts 3 weeks compared to barely 1-2 weeks at other places. The one thing I miss from the salons back home is the glass of champagne, which seems like is not common practice in Seattle, otherwise love it! read more

My partner and I stopped in on a whim of deciding to get pedicures. Neither of us had had a pedicure in years. Personally I felt a bit out of place (which I would in any nail salon as it's not exactly my vibe), but that was eased as the service was very kind and friendly. This is one of the best spots in Seattle for pedicures. It's super easy to make reservations but make sure you at least call 48 hours in advanced. Every time I come, my pedicure is immaculate. Wonderful spa bath, hotel, and a foot and calf massage. And normally my nail paint last 2-3 weeks without gel which I haven't experienced at other places. I couldn't figure out why the nail tech was putting super glue on my toenail...I wasn't hurt but during my pedicure, she added superglue after cutting cuticles/filing. My nail was not cracked or damaged before so I could only assume that it was something the nail tech did. I didn't want to be impolite so I just made a mental note of which toe she put glue on. Well, two weeks later and my $75 pedicure is ruined because the nail was cracked in half horizontally. Half of my nail came off, plus all of the polish popped off with the nail today. Gross. Now I have to wait multiple weeks for it to grow out until I can get it fixed. I won't go back to Apollo. read more

The complimentary foot/calf massage was impressive and it honestly felt like it lasted about 10 minutes. It's been an embarrassingly long time since my last pedicure (almost 6 months) and there was a lot of work to be done. However whatever magic she did to my cuticles and nails was absolutely PAINLESS and she made a huuuuuge difference (won't get into too much detail about my neglected toes). Getting a pedicure isn't just about having your toes painted. Many places rush to get you finished, but here they take their time and make it a very relaxing enjoyable experience. This place is awesome. It feels like you're inside a fancy spaceship. Overall, the whole experience was 5 star. My friend and I went in for pedi/mani (45$) and they spent a lot of time on us (an hour each). Very sweet girls. I'd say it's worth it just for the foot and hand massages. This honestly was such a horrible experience it got me to write a review! I normally just lurk, read others reviews, never actually post! I am getting married next month and wanted to test out this salon for a possible place to get mine and my bridal parties nails done. I made appointments for myself and a friend to get gel manis and pedis at 5:30pm, they asked if I could do 6pm instead, no problem. I made this appointment 5 days in advance. Pros- very spacious and clean. Sadly the pros end there! Cons- limited selection of shellac/gel colors. I had TRACY for my mani, she started by asking if I want my nails short. I have terribly brittle nails and have been doing everything in my power to grow them long for my wedding next month, it's taken literally months to get them long and healthy. I said no, please just trim and shape I'm growing them for my wedding. She then proceeded to just clip them ALL OFF! I just about cried. Then she filed them, no shape whatsoever, nor did she even ask what shape I wanted. TRACY proceeded to talk and giggle with her coworker the whole hour I was there as I tried to ask her to fix my nails! She did nothing and did not answer or respond to me the whole time! They were clearly in a rush to finish up. Trying to clean and sweep around us. When it came time to pay, I voiced my disappointment and frustration to the two ladies at the register. Only one responded and said "oh that's too bad." Never once was I offered any sort of compensation or for my nails to be fixed! I know they can't make them grow any faster, but at least off to put tips on for me or something! I would highly recommend a different salon if you want to have any say in how your nails turn out! UPDATE- a few hours after my original post I did receive a call from DAISY from Apollo. She apologized for the experience that I had which I appreciated. Then she proceeded to say the reason the nail tech cut my nails was because they said they were too short to shape otherwise and she offered me 30% off my next shellac mani/ since that was the select service I was dissatisfied with. I explained that my nails were not short and they never shaped them anyways. I have added before photos as well, showing my not very long but also not impossibly short nails. We had literally been ring shopping the day prior. I explained to DAISY I would NEVER pay to go back there. She then offered a free shellac mani at my next visit and said they do not do refunds (which is completely fine) never once had I asked for a refund. I explained the whole time- I simply wanted my nails fixed, which was still never offered. I was only offered another shellac which will not add any length or shape to my nails. I've been to a few little chop shop nail salons around Seattle/Queen Anne and they all did the job and never went away hating my nails but nothing stood out. I had heard good things about Apollo and decided to try them out! I'm in the beauty industry so seeing the cleanliness of the spa/salon is SUPER important when I went in. This place is immaculate! Every thing is labeled and sealed (something they teach you to do for client protection in state boards) this is something I don't see often in many nail salons so that alone is 5 stars! Now for the service and professionalism! Outstanding! I called in the morning to make the appointment for later that evening, I arrived 10 minutes early and Chloe (my technician) received me early. She was very sweet and very professional. She removed my old gel polish carefully- without that painful drill most nail places use. I loved this so much. She asked me what shape and color and proceeded to do it all perfectly! I will have to say though, the appointment itself took longer than expected. This wasn't due to inexperience- this was because Chloe took her time to make sure my nails were perfect. Something I haven't experienced before. Apollo nails is top notch. It's very nice and clean on the inside. Very comfortable chairs and the technicians do a great job. They don't paint your cuticles but they paint the whole nail. If you're like me you know exactly what I'm talking about. They also not put so much gel on that it sticks up like a dip. Ps - they do not do dip. Polishes that damage your nails are called out so you can avoid staining/damage. It's the only nail salon I will go to. Definitely ask for a member points card! they didn't offer it to me so I missed out on 190 points:( and when I went back the second time and overheard someone ask about it, I got mine for that day but they said they don't back date points. bummer. Insist on paying before they put on your color so you don't have to nick your nails, don't know why they don't make this standard practice like my previous experience in pro salons. My first visit was a facial, mani pedi and you get an upper lip or brow wax (princess package) a good deal. I asked if I could switch out the wax option to do underarms which they were fine with on the phone, said it'd be an extra $8; but I had to catch it at the check out because they charged he additional $20 at first, but we're fine to reduce it as quoted. Holly is incredible, super nice and did a great job on my facial- relaxing, great smelling products and I felt and looked dewy and fresh after. The nails are good, best Seattle mani so far but I had dark blue gel the first time and they didn't get it all off so I had some dark spots and under my red shellac. Thiis time I had shellac taken off ($5) and regular OPI put on (spa mani $19) a bit pricey. My nails got smudged when paying and they were happy to fix but it looks chunky and dented which I noticed after sitting with the dryer a few minutes. I'm sure if I had asked them again they would have but I just let it go. All in all it's a nice experience but with it's flaws - both times I had rough spots on the tips and just wasn't perfect which at this price point I expected. read more

One star because the technician was nice. However....I paid $60 for the spa mani pedi which anywhere else is half the price. They did not tell me how much it was upfront and didn't answer at the front desk when I asked. But I figured, what the heck, I'm not even getting polish, can't be more than $40. WRONG I don't mind paying what something is worth, but this was not a "spa" experience. The exfoliation was neon. The massage was two minutes. There was no offer of water or tea. The mani pedi took about two hours. Without polish. I am a nurse. I work with my hands. I got off early to get this mani pedi and I return to work before the sun rises tomorrow... But now with an open cut on my hand that I'll have to baby with a finger condom tomorrow. How embarrassing. As if some patients aren't crude humored enough already....now I get to bait the jokes with a finger trojan. That's right. THEY SLICED MY FINGER. With a nail file. How do you even do that? Is there a discount for "sorry we cut your finger and made you bleed"? If so I'd like it. This is the most terrible salon I have ever been to. I would rather go to a strip mall salon and risk getting whatever fungus they had waiting for me rather than going back to this money laundry front - over confident - too pricey - finger injuring - bougie - no good salon.
