i have gone to my previous dentist's practice my whole life so making a switch to another dentist/dental office made me a little anxious. but i was quickly reassured that i made the right decision. as transferring care to this clinic has been such a smooth process. i appreciate feeling and knowing my concerns and thoughts were being validated and addressed appropriately/accordingly. and to add on top of that - the staff members are very attentive and helpful during each appointment which hugely contributes to my positive experience as a patient! if you're looking for a new dental practice then id highly recommend fremont cosmetic dentistry :) read more

I waited months and got a second opinion first to see if my situation would improve before writing this review. At first I had a good experience with this office when I had a chipped tooth repaired. Then I made the mistake of returning for an exam where the owner dentist told me I needed to replace at least two very deep fillings. He never asked if the older fillings were causing me any issues or pain (they were not) and they were in large teeth very important for chewing/eating. He just said they needed replacing. When I went in for the actual fillings, another dentist did them and that dentist said I had another cavity that somehow the owner dentist did not see during the exam, so that got replaced, too. So in 2 hours they did 4 fillings all on the right side of my mouth. Months later I have extreme sensitivity to the point that I haven't been able to really eat on the right side of my jaw. Even using mouthwash or eating pudding on the right side of my mouth is painful. I wish I knew that most honest dentists do not replace old, deep fillings because they are close to the nerve. The staff here are very friendly, but it's a business. I think these are business dentists, and not doctor dentists as explained in the below article. I wish I had known. To help others avoid the eating issues and pain I have had, I suggest you get a second opinion before letting them do major filling work or filling replacements. CLEAN and KIND! Been coming here for awhile now! I absolutely recommend Dr Frank Cortese to everyone. I've got bad teeth. But with Dr Cortese I know he can handle it all. He does it ALL! He's quick, thorough and fun to be around! He makes the visit pleasant. Also he listened and believed me when I told him that I was in pain and he fixed it right away. They make for great emergency dentists. They were very accommodating when I needed to be seen quickly. He's also been treating my 8year old and my 6year old boys. This dental team is amazing! Mary Helen took my 4 year old's x-rays with ease! He had a wonderful cleaning done, and during the exam by Dr Selway it turned out he did need a filling. Dr Frank did my son's filling and he was so great with him, despite my son being semi anxious. My husband and I have both had wisdom teeth pulled by both Dr. Selway and Dr. Frank. Holy cats, these folks are good! I had an aching tooth and they determined that it would need a root canal (they don't do them by the way). They tried to get me in locally but no one was available so they found an endodontist in Walnut Creek who was willing to take me in on an emergency. Fast forward two weeks and Dr. Selway's office got me in for the temp that needed to go in and he set me up with a solid temp that will last me until next year so we can take advantage of the insurance savings which I appreciate because it shows they're looking out for my wallet as well. The Novacane shot went in very slowly so you hardly feel it and they explained everything as they were doing it. The front desk is super helpful and this place is a joy to go to IF you have to go to a dentist. My teef are happy now. read more

I called to reschedule my appointment that was made for me about days ago. I had a family emergency and couldn't go to my appointment. However, I called around 8am to reschedule it while my appointment was at 12pm. The front desk girl was really rude and she stated that we will charge me a fee for rescheduling my appointment? Apparently they have a policy to cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance. They need to be considerate of people's situation. This is the second time I had bad experience at this place. Last time they charged me over $300 for filling 2 cavities while I have good delta insurance. The worse part was that they didn't even tell me about the charge before they filled my cavities. I just received a bill out of no where. So yeah, I'll never go to this place again! Horrible customer service and they charge you out of pocket as much as they can! read more

I have been coming here since 2000 on a recommendation from a friend. I had just moved to the Bay Area and had to give up my childhood dentist because he was too far away. I've always found the office staff, hygienists, and dentists ( Dr. McCormmick and Dr. Selway) to be friendly, polite, and they do their job well. I have recommended them over the years and everyone I have referred has been as happy as I have. I even got my husband to switch and he hates going to the dentist. He now hasn't missed a cleaning in over 6 years! I want to give a special shout out to Grace for always being amazing. Dr. Selway is very personable and I thoroughly enjoy my office visits. I was looking for a dental practice that had a good reputation for doing dental implants at a reasonable price because I had been shocked by the quotes I had gotten from a couple other providers. An associate of mine's wife had been going to Fremont Cosmetic Dentistry and he said she was very happy with the work they had done. I called and scheduled a visit.. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the state of the art equipment they used performing the exam and later for doing the implants. Additionally I was thankful for the meds that were prescribed that helped me to feel calm during the procedure and virtually eliminated pain during the week it takes your mouth to heal following the prep for an implant. They were also very helpful in working with me and my insurance to perform the procedures over a 16 month timeframe so that as much of the work could be covered by insurance and still get it done in a timely fashion. I have been going to this location to close 30 years, previously the Dentist Dr. McCormick, which was a great dentist and gentle , I have referred everyone I know to this business and the staff especially Dianne very professional, #1 for cleaning teeth . We can't say enough great things about her. The staff is great excluding Janine who is the most rudest with attitude I have ever dealt with , I referred my mom in good faith and assured her she was in good hands . sad to say the outcome was a disaster. There are 2 types of dentists , caring enough to provide what the patient needs and a dentist who is very prideful and is going to ignore the patients requests and provide them a service that is not acceptable. Does not return calls . My mom is elderly and she made the mistake and prepaid the whole service. Dr. Selway is not gentle, pulling her lips hurting her . and he was aware, not being careful , her being told like shoes eventually her dentures would stop hurting her. My point is if you have a elderly parent and they need dentures do not take them here. WARNING, jaws , teeth need to be measured as well as required XRAYS . This dentist will take a mold and expect it to work. And he will select your teeth for you expecting you to be happy. I should have done more research on the years of experience , after many attempts of correcting the teeth. They were too painful to use. She returned them and was only reimbursed partially.
