Five Stars! After seeing Baja Springs featured as one of the top taco spots in Palm Springs on the morning news, I had to give it a try--and I'm so glad I did! The 99-cent tacos are an incredible value, but the quality is what really impressed me. I tried the chicken tacos, carne asada tacos, and the nachos, and every bite was outstanding. The meat was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked, and the toppings were just right. The tacos were absolutely out of this world! While I was waiting for my order, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Richard. He was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and it was obvious that great service and high-quality food are his top priorities. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. If you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos in Palm Springs, Baja Springs is a must-visit. Okay, I've been coming here for 12 years and today was the day they lost me as a customer. This may seem simple and petty but it's more about customer service. A few weeks ago I came in for taco Tuesday, discounted tacos and they are always good. This time they didn't give me all that I paid for. Seemed like an honest mistake but I was already home when I noticed and so I called them to let them know. They asked for my name and how many tacos were missing and said I could come back another Tuesday and get them. No big deal right? Well I went in to ask about them today and I was told that nobody had written down my name and that I needed my receipt. But to pick up the tacos I had to give my receipt to the woman in the kitchen so I have no receipt. So I was simply dismissed and told no. I had already ordered and paid for two burritos today, I guess this is the last meal I will have here. Yes the food has been good. But to have been a customer this long and to be so easily dismissed leaves a bad taste in my mouth. We have our own business in town (a restaurant) and we do not treat customers this way. I have referred hundreds of people to Baja Springs, that also stops today. This is the prime example of it takes time to gain a customer and one day to lose them. If this is the way management treats me I don't want to continue to be a customer. It's not about money, it's about morals and ethics of at least acknowledging a customer and not just dismissing them like it was my fault for them not giving me what I had ordered. I'm sure they will continue on in business and do well, they just won't get my money anymore. Thanks for taking the 12 years of me being a customer and treating me like I truly don't matter at all. I really wanted to love this place last week, especially since it clearly has a loyal following--lots of local workers were parked outside and eating inside. Unfortunately, my experience fell a bit short. I ordered the fish burrito, which was huge, but mostly filled with rice (about two-thirds) and a small mix of beans and fish. The tortilla and foil could barely hold it together, and overall, it lacked flavor. One word.. TACOS! I absolutely love the tacos here! You will need to pay for them at the cashier stand and once done, your order gets sent over to the restaurant side. Usually the wait is minimal... not more than 5 minutes and you are on the way. The asada selection is very good! You get a choice of red or green salsa both of which do not disappoint. There is a small sitting area in front of the butcher area, so you could eat there, but I always order and bring it home. read more

Food is tasty everything was fine until having huge pieces of carcass in my taco. Thought maybe it was only once nope twice this happened that's why I'm making a review. I also bought carne Asada from the meat market part of the store. Asada is great on the barbecue. Customer service is average, and the food is just okay. It's a bit pricey for the quality you get. Everything comes with extra charges or add-on fees. No free refills on fountain drinks was a big disappointment. The burrito is large if you supersize it, but that bumps the price from $13 to $16+. It's a place I'll visit only once. You can buy beer in the store and drink it at your table in the restaurant. Maybe that's the appeal, I don't know. Visit during happy hour or specials times. Prices are more reasonable then and reflect what you should pay for what you get. read more

Still one of my favorite spots to eat. The food is outstanding and the pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. They say some things never change and this is one of them. The quality and quantity have stayed the same. Great tasting food. The price as with everything nowadays has had to increase but that is understandable and it has been a ridiculous increase! Went here because they had good ratings on Yelp. A bit confusing, you order at the register BUT the register is on the other side at like a liquor store. Ordered there and then brought the receipt to the area where they cook the food. They did not even acknowledge I was there, I didn't get greeted, I was ignored when I asked for extra sauce. Others got greeted. I was unaware when you ordered they send the order to the cooks and that's how it goes so after a while of waiting they called nachos, it was me. Looking at the reviews before going I really had hoped this would have been better. The service was good and friendly. We had ordered 2 Asada nachos which would have come with all ingredients but beans came on the side (not sure why we wanted it how it came with everything on the asada nacho) so it was easy to see that the meat amount was skimpy and flavor less. The preparation was made to order but the meat was lacking taste. The beans when added back on the nachos definitely carried the weight of the entree's flavor. We also ordered asada fries entree (this one was to have bean and sour cream on the side ) and while yet the portion was good the flavor was just not there in the meat at all. The hubs had the asada burrito which came with bean, rice, meat states that he said was ok but nothing to talk about. This restaurant is inside a convenience store when you walk in. You pay to the left of the store and pick your food up by the restaurant on the right side of store after handing them your receipt. There is seating but the tables are high and the chairs are like metal no back barstools and aren't comfortable so this one would be a definite pick up and take with you if your trying to sit in comfort while eating. The prices were about average for Cali but wish there was more meat and that it had a taste. I'm not sure if it's because we are from San Diego and are spoiled in a sense when it comes to asada but when you pay good money for food you want it to be really good and it was just not. read more

This place is my go-to for carne asada burritos and Tuesday tacos. Every time I place my order over the phone, they say it'll be ready in 15 minutes for pick up. It was always ready and fresh when I picked it up. They are generous with the salsa! The food is tasty and fresh! The person who handed me the order was always so nice and smiled. We had a party last Saturday night catered by Baja Springs Market. Everyone raved about the food. The guacamole was a standout! There was nothing left and someone licked the serving spoon! Small hidden gem! My Dad used to love going to little out of the way places like this and being pleasantly surprised! You have to order from the grocery register but they prepared our order quickly. Easy, affordable, and delicious! They give an ample amount of meat in each taco and both the asada and carnitas were tender. My personal preference is to have the carnitas crispier, but no big deal. The carne asada tacos had a generous amount of meat and the refried beans were flavorful and creamy. The place has added quite a few tables and chairs so eating in is a nice option. Don't let the store front fool you. They have several tables inside to relax and eat as well as outstanding service. I knew this place had great food at an awesome price but I didn't know they had menudo on the weekends. So of course I had to try it. I'm glad I did as it was one of the best I've had. All meat and doesn't have that greasy taste which tells me they wash the meat extremely well before cooking it. If you're in the Palm Springs area stop by and grab some food. Second time here. First time was phenomenal. Came here while driving through town for a quick lunch break because we had a great first experience. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed this time around. Ordered: 1x carne asada/shrimp burrito - $14.00 3x quesabirria tacos - $14.00 The burrito was filled with rice and beans.. no asada and a handful of shrimp. It was also not even fully wrapped and was a mess to eat that I had to resort to just using a fork to eat out of the tortilla. The quesabirria was just as bad. The were made with mini taco shells and had no birria in them as well. It was just cheese and tortilla. By far the worst quesabirria I've ever had. You would think that since they sell food at a carniceria, they wouldn't skimp on the meat. One thing to note is that I did notice that the cooks making the food this time around was different than the first time around. We were excited to visit this place again given our experience the first time but won't be returning again. For anyone else, please take your money elsewhere. I wouldn't mind the prices as long as the food was up to par but unfortunately they were not. Cute little shop. It WAS a combination bodega, with Mexican and Sri Lankan spices, a small carniceria and a "hole in the wall" kitchen in the back. I have been coming here for years. Unfortunately, what was a small shop frequented by workers and a few "in the know" locals, has decided to go "up-scale". While the food remains generally authentic, the owners had gotten rid of most of the food aisles. Only things remaining is a wall cooler of beer and sodas and a few wilted vegetables. The food, while remaining good, is no longer a bargain, and is priced aggressively. Lots of good places to get authentic Mexican food in the area. What made this place my "preferred location" has passed. read more
