We ordered the 20th Century Fennel as I am in love with savory-sweet cocktails with notes of fresh garden herbs, spices,, and vegetables - and Fennel is a plant that happens to be all 3. When I saw this on the menu as containing every imaginable infusion of fennel I knew I had to have it: fennel stalk still austin gin, lemon, fennel seed creme de cacao, fennel frond blanc vermouth, fennel bulbcocoa saline, and fennel pollen. The flavor is astounding. I will crave this in my dreams. The Oyster Not Oyster is one of the most unique appetizers I have ever had the experience of enjoying, definitely on par with a michelin star experience as every texture and flavor is an explosion of exotic notes that stimulates your sensory neural networks in ways that very few things in life can. Group of 4 went around 8:30pm. Would highly recommend getting reservations as walk ins especially on weekends are almost impossible to get seats for. Got a few drinks and the charcuterie platter. The drinks, especially the experimental ones, were amazing!! A few favorites were the London fog gin drink and even that cookie that goes along with it was a great tasting soft lemon cookie. Another one was the Pekin Tom which was really smooth, no burn you might expect. The espresso martini was strong for sure but the molasses cream tasted like ice cream and it was delicious! Last highlight is the holy pozole, definitely packs some heat but not in a bad way. If you like spicy drinks highly recommend this!! The charcuterie board was good, but didn't try other foods. Such a cool spot! Decided to stop by on a Saturday night, without a reservation, but was able to get two seats at the bar with a very short wait. When you walk in, you are in the dark vestibule before the heavy curtains are drawn back and you step into a very cozy, yet upscale space. Reminds me of some great speakeasies I've been to in DC, NYC and Chicago. I started with the Pekin Tom, which is a duck fat washed bourbon cocktail finished off with peach smoke. I found the drink to be spirit forward, but very approachable. Bourbon is my go-to and I always enjoy well thought out bourbon cocktails. Next I tried to R-Oaxaca-Fort. It's a blue cheese infused mezcal, mole cocktail topped with a white chocolate cricket!! I was most nervous about the cricket, lol, but it was a great drink. I ate the cricket but quickly washed it down. We also tried the charcuterie board, which had a great selection of cheeses, breads and meats. Amazing concept, unique cocktails, speakeasy-like and quaint atmosphere - Apothecary's got it goin on! I would recommend getting a reservation here (on Tock) - they do allow walk-ins, but you'd likely have to wait a bit to get in without a reservation. The bar is a little hard to find - there is a small sign that says "Apothecary" and an unmarked door. The host sits in front of the bar with a laptop to check people in. He led us through the doors into a dark entryway. Pulled aside the curtains and - voila, we're in a different world. Dim lights with a fully stocked bar and nicely dressed bartenders greet you as you step inside. We were seated at a small table in front of the bar, so we got to see all the action. Their cocktails are quite an impressive bunch - their menu is split into 3 columns, getting more "adventurous" as you go from Over the Counter to Prescription to Illicit Elixers. And within each column, our server explained that the drinks get more liquor-heavy as you go downwards. So I stuck with a safe bet - London Fog (milk washed ford's gin, earl grey, aveze, dry curacao, vanilla orange honey + orange zest cookie). It was a little too sweet, but I enjoyed the hint of earl grey. It also went really well with the cookie! My partner was a little more adventurous and chose the Chanel No. 5 (youpon gin, dry vermouth, jasmine, orange blossom, sandalwood perfume). When our server came back to check on us and our drinks, we told him that we didn't like Chanel - it was too bitter. Without hesitation, he offered to switch it out for another drink. So this time, we got the Suterberry 75 (pisco, lemon, numbing prickly ash, bubbles, champagne foam). Suterberry was quite nice - an interesting take on the French 75. We liked the numbing prickly ash - our server warned us that it would have a slightly numbing effect on the tongue, and he was certainly right! It only lasted for several minutes, but it was an interesting sensation. We also got the torched wagyu nigiri (Snake River wagyu, koji garum allemande). So... this one was a bust. We enjoyed the wagyu, but certainly not the sushi rice covered in koji. I think it would've been better if they had just used a sprinkle of koji, instead of drenching the rice with it. It really overpowered the whole nigiri. Intimate atmosphere, chill vibes, excellent service. A little disappointed in the wagyu nigiri. However, loved our visit! read more

Finally was able to come here on a friday night, it is a small place with cool ambiance and couches/booths all around. They have 3 different sections to their menu, with the last being more "adventurous" drinks... we deicded to try some of those and ordered the muerte despierta and the cacio e pepe... Their computer system had gone down so they lost our drink order so it did take over 30 minutes to get our cocktails, we kind of expected maybe some sort of complimentary something but no... and then the drinks tasted pretty standard, so that was a bit dissappointing, the cacio e pepe was advertised as tasting like parmesean/lemon smoothie but I didn't really get any parmesean, & for the prices I expected more.
