A must try! A little sweet and less bitter. Ruel, the fabulous mixologist, does drinks right! My drink tasted like a NOT overly sweet cocktail, fruity and slightly bubbly. My kind of superb cocktail! The munchies they offer you are toasted Texas Pecans, and Corn Nuts! Delicious to the core! Thanks to our bartender, Ruel! I assume EVERYTHING on their cocktail Bible is a hit, just mine was. Pricey, yes. I had 2, and they were worth it! This effortlessly chic bar, located inside the Mansion on Turtle Creek Hotel, is a real hit with guests, tourists, and locals! Excellent service! A must stop! And it's really busy during happy hour and peak hours! You'll thank me later..... Cheers, Yelpers!

Used to be 5+ star. This *was* a Dallas crown jewel of an upscale bar with fantastic service and…read moremusic, but it's flipped upside down. The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

We went to…read moredinner at a nearby restaurant and were looking for a place that had live music and the first suggestion was the balcony club. We were told to get there early because there is not a lot of seating and the place fills up quick so once we finished dinner, we just went straight over there and we got there around 7 PM and it wasn't very busy. It was also such a special day for the club because it was the owners anniversary of owning the club and they were also honoring one of the musicians who is a long time performer at the club, so I got to be a part of such a great celebratory experience for this venue all around and it felt so special. You can see that the owner has curated a space where not only musicians come to show their talent, but people come for real love of music and community. It seemed like everyone there was family with one another and everyone was just so welcoming. It was not busy when we got there, but it was standing room only by the time we left around 11 PM so I would say if you are planning on going get there early. Anytime I am back in the Dallas area I am going to make sure to come here. They do not serve any food, but the drinks were fantastic and the music was top-tier.

What a mistake! First of all, there was a $20/person cover charge. For what?! The band? The first band that was playing was four guys that looked to be drunk frat boys playing poorly and hardly knew the words to the song they played. The second band was fronted by a guy who was so flat it hurt my ears. They were no better than a band playing at weddings, which they did promote themselves to be available for. The song choice terrible! Footloose?! I know it was a predominantly white crowd but come on! Then when they did sing an Earth Wind and Fire song, they were so bad that Maurice White was probably turning over in his grave. What a sad state of affairs!

Overall: 2.6/5 [dine in]…read more The place is nice, but smaller than expected. They had bubble guns too, which was a fun surprise. We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.
