I went here for the second time today. It is a short walk from my office and my lunch buddy required a Caesar salad so I had to find a spot. This is an order at the counter and take out or you could dine in and they give you a number and will bring your food to you. For in-restaurant dining they serve their salads in metal bowls, sandwiches and platters on actual plates and with real silverware. I opted for take out this time. I chose the French Dip. It is their Flat Iron Steak With Aged Provolone on a baguette Served with Au Jus. (It typically has mushrooms too, but I got it with out.- side note, the woman who took my order and rung me up knew enough to ask me if I was allergic or just didn't want them! Nice touch.) My sandwich was delicious. Bread choice fit perfectly, the steak was flavorful and moist, and the cheese (although I typically like more) added a great accent to the flavors. This place is great! When I first came here over a year ago, the food wasn't that great and never went back. Thanks to a friend who recently went there decided to share their lunch with me, all I can say is wow!!! They have stepped up there game. The food was great. Honestly, this place has great potential but often they drop the ball when it comes to execution. I have gone to this place multiple times over the course of last few years because I work in the building and the convenience factor is high. But I am done. I went this morning when they were not busy, and I ordered a gourmet croissant. I was sitting inside and waiting for my order. After about 15 minutes, I went to the counter to check on the order (because I have had a situation with them when they forgot about me) and saw there was something waiting on their back counter. When I asked about my order, the girl goes to check the counter, then comes back with what was sitting on the counter and tells me that she could not pronounce my name, was calling it out, and there was no response. I was sitting ten feet from the counter, and I can definitively say, it was not "called out". Maybe she whispered it to herself! In the past, they have also given me a burger with no meat in it (they said the chef thought he put the meat on the burger)! The food is ok but not at all consistent. And overall, just disappointing. Even for convenience, there is a line. I really don't appreciate the lack of service. And I know I am not the only one that feels this way. And unfortunately, theres almost no other food options around, especially for people who take a 30 minute lunch. I ordered a plain bagel there, pretty simple right? Nope, not for appetite. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese and paid the lady at the front, and after 5 minutes she told me there were no more onion bagels, so I said a "plain is fine." After 5 more minutes she offers me a bagel with an outreached arm and without a word. I take the bagel and say "thanks." When I get to the office and unwrap the bagel it has a stench of bacon, which I discover is bacon grease drenched on the paper wrapping and all over the bagel. It was a foul pork smell, not the appetizing odor you get form cooking decent bacon at home. This isn't the first bad experience there, but it was my last. Terrible! I had an event where, unbeknownst to me, needed catering, at the last minute. I called ahead and placed a catering order. The woman told me my catering order (sandwiches and a salad) would take 30 minutes. I came at the twenty-five minute mark to pay and only the salad was complete. This was understandable since I came 5 minutes early. However, after another 10 minutes of waiting, the cashier went to check on my order, only to have a very rude man come out. So I asked "out the door?!?" He raised his voice angrily to say that the line had just stopped. If a catering order is such an inconvenience, why is catering advertised? They had an additional opportunity to decline my order when I came in to pay and pick up the order. 45 minutes later, still no order ready, and I'm being kept waiting. I work in the building and have literally tried to give this place a chance at least 10 times. I keep going back only because it's convenient and the girls at the counter are SO nice! But the cooks REALLY need to get it together. I order the exact same omelette every time I go and I can see in the window that it's the exact same cooks making it every single time. They never get it right. In addition to messing up my order every single time, they also skimp you on the amount of food about half the time! For example, the omelette's are supposed to come with potatoes, this morning they gave me 2 tiny potato cubes! This is insanity when I'm paying $11 for an omelette WITH potatoes. I'm not the only one who has this problem. My co-worker ordered a 3 meat burrito the other day with no potatoes. They gave him a burrito with no meat or potatoes, so all it was egg in a tortilla... Their prices are not consistence at all either. Sometimes the exact same omelette that I order costs $9, sometimes it costs $11. When I've mentioned that the price changes, they just tell me their prices have gone up. Yet the next time I go, it's $9 again... Overall, the food is NOT consistence here and a rip off for what you're paying. I'm not one to complain and I've tried to give it so many changes but I think I need to stop going here :( read more
