This awesome little "Mom & Pop" place is in a little town called Point Marion. It is a drastic contrast from DC. The decorations outside are cute. I bet the owners never put anything away since no one in the area would steal them. The specials are written on a dry erase board outside. If you sit on the bench long enough, you could be welcomed by some ducks aka the "resident greeters" who followed us to our car when we left. The restaurant is decorated with great country pictures and items with apples on them. Think "Cracker Barrel" on a smaller scale. The main attraction seems to be the pies. There were lots of choices in the front display case. We had lunch. There was a variety of sandwiches and burgers with fries. The staff didn't rush us while we visited. The employees seem more like a family than coworkers. The place is really great. If I am ever back in the area, I would return. The sandwiches are good. The prices are excellent. My cheese sandwich on soft bread with fries and a side was $6.25. read more

Sadly we did not have the best experience here today. We both ordered pancakes.... Simple enough, right? They were out of the topping of the day-the waitress thought it had possibly been strawberries. Pancakes were brought to the table by a kid from the kitchen. I thought ok, no strawberries but whipped cream would be nice. The kid tells me no they don't have whipped cream but he would ask someone. Excuse me? The place is also a bakery. And also usually has fancy coffees available (machine is currently broken). By the time the waitress stopped to see how things were (we were basically done eating) I mentioned this and she said "of course we do we're a bakery". So obviously the kid didn't bother asking. Excellent and great customer service. I had the Club sandwich with onion rings. It was well with it. Traveling east and stopped in Morgantown for the nite. Apple Annie's was near our hotel and clerk said it was good. Good is an understatement!!! Excellent, from the greeting walking in, service, food and left very full!!! I had the 1/2 and 1/2, delicious and abundant cranberry walnut salad with 3 cheese panini which was served on their home baked bread. Hubby had the 1/2 and 1/2 with a HUGE bowl of tomato basil soup with a large half of chicken salad sandwich. We were also the lucky recipient of a piece of peanut butter pie that they said was too small to sell. What a great restaurant, just off I68 so very easy to find. read more

I'm not a big fan of their food, it's decent enough but, I can cook decent food at home for less. Just my honest thoughts. If you want some simple home style food without the work of cooking and cleaning up afterward, you will be satisfied here. When it comes to their sitdown menu, the Southwest Chicken wrap is definitely worth it IMO. The thing that keeps me coming back though, where they truly shine, is their AMAZING bakery. I have not found better cookies or cheesecake anywhere around here. The cookies are massive and have a crunchy exterior and a moist cake-like interior. My favorite right now is the Lemon Delight cookie. I only started eating it because it was only one of two cookies they keep in jars and with covid, I don't like that the other cookies are left exposed (there's glass in front but, not on the sides near the register and nothing protects them on the workers side of the counter). I wish they would display all the cookies in large jars like they do with the lemon delight cookies. Everyone there has been very kind though they do tend to have a very slow kitchen, even when they aren't busy so, you should plan accordingly and either order ahead or don't come in a rush of any kind. read more

We went to the Original place in Point Marion a few times and loved it so we have been wanting to try out the new location, so today was that day! All we can say is, WOW, what a great Upgrade! So beautiful and so much Bigger! We love the new place! The Food is still Fantastic and the Dessert well it speaks for itself! Our waitress, Madison was One of the best around and even chatted with us for a few minutes, I love when a waitress is Personable and she was great! Make sure you ask for her when you're there! I've wanted to try this place for awhile now because of all the great reviews I've seen. I was so impressed walking in seeing all the different pies, cakes, etc , told the host how nice it looked and it was our first time. We got seated quickly. Although we were seated in a dark back corner & there where plenty other seating in the open area. Not really a big deal, but who wants to sit in a dark backroom and eat for brunch? To continue we waited for almost 10-15 minutes and still was not waited on, no drinks or anything ! We ended up just leaving and going to another restaurant that was 10 times more crowded and was waited on right away.. hopefully we have a better experience in the future but won't be back for awhile. read more

Upgraded to seasoned fries. The lettuce on the sandwich was old and wilted. Took that off at table. The fries were tasteless, left 3/4 on the plate. My spouse ordered the BLT with house chips. After a week in DC driving home we wanted "normal" food and not fast food. We hit the jackpot. I had country fried chicken with real mashed potatoes and green beans. The wife had four huge pieces of fried chicken (she couldn't eat it all). The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. Went to Apple Annie's this afternoon. Ordered the Rueben Sandwich. It came with chips and Coke slaw. The Rueben was very good - I can't say outstanding, but very good. The home made chips were barely passable - some were stale, none had salt on them. Adding salt at the table just doesn't get it with chips. The coleslaw had virtually no dressing on it, basically just chopped up cabbage. read more

Stopped in after dinner with friends for some dessert. A friend was raving about the coconut cake. Much to our disappointment, they had already sold out of it a half hour before closing. When we chatted with the very nice owner, Pete, he went in the kitchen an emerged with one. Am I happy he did! Delicious! Perfect white cake with fluffy white icing and sweet shredded coconut. I do like this restuarant, the pies are good, not fantastic. But for $20 per pie, I feel overpriced. My favorite lunch / dinner is the stuffed cabbage rolls. She was one of the best, most cheerful, and professional I've ever encountered. Most all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Now for the bad.... I will not come back for breakfast. The breakfast is bland. An omelet, toast, and 1/2 tomato costs a little less than my favorite, (cabbage roll dinner). Moreover, there are 2 morning waitress I've seen who must have the morning shift. They were working the three times I visited for breakfast. Both seemed to have a perpetual scowl, they both were curt, and did not engage customers. In short, their attitude was slightly above deplorable. I took a star off because of these waitresses. Let me be clear, I feel this a nice restaurant worth the visit. While in Motown seeing the doctor my daughter told me about a restaurant her 9th grade science teacher from our hometown opened there. Since I always try to support local businesses over chains we sought out to find it. BOY I'm glad we did. What a fantastic little place! The bakery is filled with beautiful pastries and such, and the restaurant is loaded with delicious meals! We had breakfast and were not disappointed!
