Maybe I didn't order the right thing. But for me, it was alright for food. But their baked goods were amazing. We were seated right away, and the server welcomed us. It was definitely just a chill diner vibe. Casual for sure. There were many options, definitely southern food with fried chicken, sandwiches, pulled pork etc.. I have ordered soup and salad. Italian wedding soup with half of turkey with coleslaw. This Italian wedding soup was very different from what I expected. It had sausages and beans. Which I've never had Italian wedding soup like that before. It was fairly salty. For the sandwich I would say it was alright also. I'm not sure if I liked turkey with coleslaw. It was something new to try though. For the baked good, I've got cinnamon rolls and some cookies. And that's where it is at! Put the cinnamon rolls in the microwave for few seconds and it was gooey and amazing. Their cinnamon glaze was perfect. One of the best cinnamon rolls I've had.

Came for the buckwheat pancakes and glad I did. They were great, service was great, and the other treats were really tempting. The house fries weee just ok. Could have been warmer and more flavorful. I'd go again when I'm back in town.

In town for Geowoodstock and decided to check this out based on reviews! AMAZING! service was fantastic from our own super nice and engaged server to others just being super polite. Husband decided to check out pepperoni roll and it did not disappoint. He's not normally a pepperoni guy and he liked it (got it just to check out since it's a WV staple). Daughter built her own burger which she said was good. I did BLT and onion rings which were very good. All portions were extremely generous. But the bakery is where it's at. We are not the type to typically order desserts. Especially after lunch. But we left with 1/2 dz assorted cookies and 2 cupcakes just because we had to TRY them. Great spot to visit and would encourage others to give them your business.

Stopped for "brunch" on Saturday, but it was slightly past 11am and the breakfast menu was no longer available. We chose the fish sandwich and their version of a pepperoni roll from the regular menu. Our server was prompt and friendly and our food came out very quickly. The pepperoni roll was covered in what they refer to as a "meat sauce", but it tasted exactly like chili to me. It was warm, gooey, and comforting with the melty cheese on top. It was an interesting rendition and I didn't hate it, but I don't know if I need to order it again. The house chips were great. They were very crunchy, fresh, and seasoned with salt and some other spices. I was super excited to pick up some cookies from the massive stack behind the plastic wall. We got a chocolate chip and one oatmeal raisin. The flavors were great, but the oatmeal raisin was a little dry. I do love the decor and ambiance inside, though. It reminds you of the most cozy diner with all of the different pictures and memorabilia hanging up and the booth seating. Glad I got to try the other location of Annie's and I'm sure I'll be back.

Terrie Clay-metzger and I were in Morgantown for doctor appointments and needed some lunch, so we stopped at Apple Annie's in Morgantown. Terrie had been raving about the place and wanted to show it to me. PRO: Dessert Heaven CON: They do not Brew their own tea! I went with Unsweetened Iced Tea with Lemon (no lime Available) and so did Terrie, but alas no brewed tea. I accepted my fountain drink tea buy not a happy camper. For lunch I went with Beef Liver & onions with mashed potatoes & gray and green beans...while Terrie chose a large house salad with no tomatoes with extra cheese & extra onions. The food was great!

Cupcakes right out of the oven!

Wow! Amazing sandwiches made with fresh bread. We shared a sandwich to have room for their homemade desserts!! A must stop!

Bought cookies and a single slice of lemon pound cake. The cookies were delicious! The lemon pound cake was dry and tasted stale.

Riding the PRT and eating in Morgantown, WV - 2 of 2…read more At this point, you're leaving town ... motoring on undulating I-68, then going for I-81 south, and finally taking I-64 east until you can't drive any further east on the continent. This IHOP is in a newer shopping area, which one usually finds on the outskirts of flagship college towns, and which are always a welcomed counterpart to the dumpy and bohemian parts closer to the center of any of these towns. Admittedly, there may be too many chain restaurants and big box stores in these parts. I looked at the distribution of ratings without letting it affect my score. An IHOP is probably never going to get 5 stars from me, but this was clearly a 4 star event. This is a nice IHOP store that is newer, clean, and has a nicely sized parking lot. The service was pleasant, with the usual small talk that takes place, and the menu is just about the same as it is at other stores. IHOPs feature a food happy hour that runs most of the afternoon. None of it is health(y) food, even though chicken or turkey might be better options. They also have an omelette with the choice of a starch that is an excellent value. That's what I had. The omelette was decked out with robust ingredients, it was fresh out of the kitchen, and it was filling. IHOP pancakes do what they're supposed to quite well and they do have sugar-free syrup available. I also like that they leave the carafe of coffee on the table, so I helped myself to a few cups to fuel going forward on this automotive trek. You might only have to tilt the steering wheel up in figurative terms because you might feel full. However, the scenery east of here will keep you going. Soon after leaving and get back on to I-68, you'll see scenic and wooded Cheat Lake from the interstate, which has McMansions and condos on stilts near the lakeshore. In short order, you will cross the state line into Maryland and are on to navigating the Cumberland Gap. This IHOP feels more connected to the Cheat Lake vibe than it is to Morgantown's hodgepodge college town center.
