I was extremely impressed with the store. Not only is the customer service with Apple amazing, but they got me an appointment the same day when I needed a battery change. It was my first day in Austin and my battery had swollen to the point where my phone was coming apart and losing its charge rapidly. There was no way I was going to survive a six day vacation without a phone! I was helped immediately upon entry and my appointment time was honored (on time) which is a huge important factor when you have other plans on your vacation. The rep that I dealt with, I wish I could remember his name, decided that my phone was in need of a replacement. Keep in mind, I had no insurance on my phone and I think the warranty was already expired, however they gave me a brand new phone out of the box as a replacement instead of the battery. I paid nothing out of pocket. They got me in and out of the store with my entire phone updated and duplicated from my old phone in less than an hour. Thank you so much! read more

I purchased a $1,600 computer earlier today and paid extra to get it delivered. I receivied a text letting me know my computer would be delivered soon. I've been home all day. My house is mostly glass and I was here looking at the front door eagerly awaiting my delivery. Less than 15 mins later I receive a text telling me: "We were unable to deliver items in your order. They are being returned to Apple and yout purchase price will be refunded." I then called apple and spoke to 4 different people, all of which claimed it wasn't their fault becasue it was given to a 3rd party. The best part though... I spoke with a guy named Jay at the Barton Creek store and he says "oh ya, I remenber this... The deliver man came in with a hemlet. The box was too big to be carried on a motorcycle, so thye refused delivery!!!" I said ok, can you please sent it back out now with a different driver and he said no. I just CANNOT believe how awful the customer service has become with Apple. It is sad, becasue I have Apple everything. I rerally needed this computer for my company, which I run out of my home. So tired of wasting my time here, made the trip to get a replacement charger for my Apple Watch, surprise surprise they don't have any Apple Watch chargers in stock accept the $159 charging platform, which they would not discount in any way considering the Apple store is out of Apple Watch chargers...such a joke. Also don't keep your phone too long they no longer carry covers or other accessories for your iPhone 8 or previous...shameless ploy to push people into new devices despite the fact that nothing really new has come out of Apple in about 3 phone generations. read more

After filing a claim and being directed by our carrier's warranty company to make an appointment at an Apple Store, my husband and I went in so he can get a replacement phone. The first associate that took our appt. left us for another customer and the second was up and about in the store chatting it up with the other associates, barely helping us, and basically leaving us for fend for ourselves. It was hard to get his attention while support was asking questions that only he could answer. Apparently, the replacement phone Apple was trying to give us was "locked". We spent 2 hours at the store only to be told to go back to our carrier and do the replacement process through them because we needed to get a sim card from them. Something about mashed potatoes and rust. Well, the Apple "Genius" was unfamiliar with the warning that my ipad was making,". So there I was using Google to trouble shoot the issue. The genius had zero clue. Later, I overheard another genius say "oh, you need a tech, I'm just a salesperson...". F'ing GENIUS. I'm sitting here at the Apple store for the third time this week to fix my iPhone XS. I came in for a battery replacement and broken screen. Since they were missing a part, they ended up replacing my phone with a refurbished phone. The first phone was given to me with no charge and I was told i had to go home to set it up and go to AT&T to get my sim replaced. I went to AT&T, spent time there, got my e-sim replaced. When i finished setting up my phone, at which point i noticed Face ID and the sound were failing. I did virtual support and they told me I had to bring it in to the store. I brought it back, they had to re-confirm the failures and then decided to give me another refurbished replacement. Two days later that 2nd phone rear camera failed. I went online with apple support, who identified yet another hardware failure. I'm back in the apple store again and now I've been flagged. They wont replace my phone - are sending me with a loaner phone that is an older phone and now I have to come back here in 7-10 days to get my bad refurbished phone again. I am so frustrated and am being treated like I broke the phone! They told me there is nothing they can do other than go through the longer, flagged process. Everyone was very nice - except for maybe this last person that basically doesn't believe me. I guess it doesn't matter that I've had an iPhone since the iPhone has existed, paid for every apple care and basically never used it. I was told by a salesperson at Apple Barton Creek that I could return my eligible phone and watch at the store. I made and appointment and was seen quickly only to be told I could NOT return it there. The website also says it can be returned at the store. I returned the items by mail, there's some kind of problem with the return and in short it's probably going to cost me $500 that I should have been refunded had this store honored the correct process. Also, I've spent several hours dealing with AppleCare on the phone (5 separate phone calls) and each of the reps have said they were surprised they refused to accept the returns in store. read more

Unbelievably painful to get an Apple Watch repaired. Combined the frustration at the product (glass shattered when dropped from wrist to floor - something that happens to watches), the exorbitant price, plus excruciating wait at store. Checked in for appointment and was told to wait 15. After 20 I checked back in and had been 'dropped' from the list. The 'genius' wasn't sure why, but he eagerly said he'd get me 'first on the list'. Everyone is waiting, if you feel upset you can come another time..." I memorize every word from his mouth and was IMPRESSIVE... instead of apology, counting the exact time seems more like his routine work... so does he mean I am lying to him on waiting 10mins????? I normally find any occasion to visit the Apple Store a stressful event - especially in their location at the Domain. But when my laptop spazzed out after a software update and got stuck in recovery mode for 12+ hours and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning trying every solution known to the internet to no avail, Apple Barton Creek was the most wonderful lifesaver! I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get a same-day Genius Bar reservation, looking into it around 9 am and scheduling for 11:45 am! (On 4/7/21.) I was in a pessimistic mood, fully believing that this was the end for my almost-a-decade-old MacBook and that this would turn into a costly day. Immediately upon arrival, though, associate Geoffrey's positivity was so infectious that I couldn't not smile! Geoffrey greeted me with the friendliest attitude possible, got me checked in to my reservation, and ushered me through temperature checks and hand sanitizing while I waited and nearly a week later, I am still so struck by his impact! Another associate noted a few more details about my Mac's situation and within 3 minutes or so, Brandon the Mac specialist arrived, introduced himself, and escorted me into the store to our socially distanced work area. Not only was I impressed by the generous space left between us by the tables where we sat, but also by the provision of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes readily available (and used) for devices! Brandon himself was so reassuring that my laptop would make it, walked me through all of the steps he took, gave me his recommendations and listened thoughtfully to my counterproposals, and we moved forward accordingly. Ultimately I ended up checking my laptop in for repair, leaving the store, and returning to pick it up in pristine condition within 2 hours. Back to Brandon, though, I want to express how much I appreciated his expertise, his authentic listening, and his pleasant conversation. Above all else, as a young woman with little tech fluency, I most appreciate how Brandon was able to explain every aspect of the process and the what-ifs in earnest, without condescension or man-splaining. What started as a routine evening back-up and update gone horribly wrong and manifested into a sleepless night of frustration and sour morning of negativity was transformed by both Geoffrey and Brandon at the Barton Creek Apple Store. Even though most of the employees here appear to be around twelve years old (I did see a guy with a beard but he could be a Red Sox fan wearing a fake beard) my experience was very good. My I phone had decided to shut down (Probably ordered to do so by the Govt.). Since I use the phone for work, I was basically out of work. What appears to be complete chaos is actually a system that works and works well. Everyone was doing their tasks in a very efficient and personable manner. I needed to reset a couple of things on my phone and stopped by the Apple store while making my annual pilgrimage to the mall. I hate the mall... Anyway, I got there within 15 mins of opening and the place was full of activity. There were more workers than patrons so I decided to try my luck. Well... this is when I learned about the "genius bar." Evidently notwithstanding all those employees walking around there are only a handful of staff intelligent to give advice!?!? I maneuvered my way around signing up for a proton martini and was able to nudge the guy enough and tease out info that the floor guy basically walked me through what I needed. The service, like the products, get inexplicably slower over time leaving one wanting more. I had made an appointment online to get my battery replaced and when I showed up was told they had no batteries. I was told to wait a week and when they had the material it would take an hour to do the work. That was a wasted trip. Three weeks later I'm notified that my battery is in, but now its going to take three hours to replace. Too long to just hang around the mall. Nevertheless, I book a new appointment. A day later I get another call telling me my battery is in and if I don't book a time they will give the battery to someone else. I know they are slammed, but this is a poorly executed mea culpa for Apple. The result? A deteriorating product experience ending with a poor service experience. I purchased my new Imac here, after 45 minutes of trying to get help. The Domain store had not been completed, so it was infuriating having no choice but wait for the man, and then give the man $2,000. After a few insider customers got their staff peeps to relax into a 45 minute demo or geek fest, I finally landed someone who talked faster than the guy on those old FedEx commercials. Alas, service was rushed, and I ended up getting more than I needed. IF YOU GO: No need to get there first thing when they open. Go get in line as if you're going to buy something. Tell them you need to buy a computer when it's your turn, and don't leave that line until someone is there to help you. Tell them you're either a student or teacher. You get 10% off. A printer deal is usually in effect so that you purchase the printer, then get a check 6-8 weeks later reimbursing you. So it's not "basically a free printer" but close, and you can sell that new puppy on craigslist if you don't need it. read more

So in March of 2019, my Macbook Pro had a broken keyboard (a well-documented issue with them), which the Apple store quoted me at about week on the repair. I couldn't be without the ability to do work for potentially a week, so I upgraded my laptop to a new Macbook Pro and said I would get the old one repaired later after I migrated my data. Today, the -NEW- laptop starts having the same issues with the keyboard, so I take it and the old one in for an appointment to get them sent off for a repair. Roughly $5000 of laptop equipment under my arms. I go into the Apple Store, and they tell me they can only help me with one laptop -per appointment-. I would have to come back later, so they could take my other laptop, and send it off for repair just like the first one. I haven't been this angry in a really long time. The sheer defiance of common sense and the insistence on wasting my time... This isn't even a knock on their hardware or the issue itself. This is 100% about the "Genius" Bar having such an incredibly stupid policy even after having spent so much with Apple over the years.
