I was surprised to find that the store had Security Officers stationed, but was pleasantly welcomed in by a tall, friendly security woman who was very gracious and most helpful in getting me seen by the right Apple employee promptly. She even checked on me later to make sure I was taken care of. Everyone seemed genuinely kind. My iPhone was fixed in short order. It was nice to be greeted and not made to feel like a dummy as often happens when an older customer tries to deal with new technology. I even took a free class and learned a lot about my phone. Can't begin to express my gratitude for the team at the Apple Store in the Mall. I had bought a new 15 Pro Max Phone. Got it set up with them and traveled home. An unexpected hiccup occurred and I called Apple Support. After working several days by phone with Apple Support to no avail, I called the Apple Store at the Boise Town Square Mall and explained what was happening. They made an appointment with me and I traveled back to the store. All I can say is that they were incredibly great in every way. It took some time as my 'carrier' was a total pain, but once that was resolved thanks to the Apple store team, the rest of the set up went smoothly. From the managers to the tech people, each one took a personal interest in solving the problem. They switched out the phone, got it set up, double checked to make sure there were no glitches and everything is downloaded, etc. I left there and drove back home happy as can be. From this day forward, I will travel to only do business with them, from buying my devices to getting help.. It is worth the drive. I will be returning soon as I signed up for some of their classes. Apple is considered "the high end" of personal electronics! Their stock value reflects it and so does the attitude of its employees in the Boise store. My wife and I went in for two different issues; have our phone batteries checked and to purchase an imac. The Flight Leader (some girl who had an ipad) came up took our names said we'd be waiting 30 minutes or more to have the staff help us. I asked if she could do it, she stated she was the flight leader and walked off. Several floor service people were just standing around appearing without purpose. Approaching any of them resulted in a quick dispersal by the staff to points unknown. We decided we'd come back later for the battery check we just wanted help in the Imac. The floor person (whose name escapes me) came over answered a couple of questions said I could get the imac I wanted cheaper on line and started playing with his phone. Shortly he walked off altogether never to be seen again. Apple stock has been retreating lately, wonder why? read more

I have been to the apple store 3 times regarding my Iphone 6 plus powering off by itself and poor operation in general. The 1st trip they replaced the SIM card the second did nothing even though I asked for a replacement (which they did nothing but tell me to come back later). The 3rd trip I found out that my device is OUT OF WARRANTY. Turns out that the 2nd trip I was nearing the end of my warranty and they purposely sent me away knowing that I was having issues but that the warranty was close to being up (what a crappy move). Back to my 3rd visit... the [barely old enough to vote] expert was rude and ZERO help. So I told him angrily "I guess I am done with apple products!". His response "COOL, BYE!" So I called the manager 3 min. After walking out of the store. She was shocked by his attitude but didn't seem to care about my issues or try to remedy them... did not invite me back or even research my device or anything. Frustrated I said "what happened to apple standing behind their products?!?" She said "we do, as long as the warranty isn't up". My warranty wasn't up on my 2nd visit but never mind that I guess! The worst Apple store I have ever been in, bar none. And I have visited a few over the past nearly twenty years. I called Apple.com to find out about Holliday Returns and price matching. Apple.com told me that both in store and on line, Apple will price match up to 10% of their own stores and preferred retailers. Ok, no problem. Went into Apple Store Boise in Town Square Mall and the giant Apple branded boy-z boy was instantly on the offensive. He shot down price matching as well as holiday returns, with a hard on. This was very strange behavior so I called Apple.com again, to verify my info. The nice lady on the other end of the phone assured me that I was in the know, that Apple does indeed price match up to 10% as well as have Holliday returns whereby any purchase made after mid Nov are eligible for extended returns. She called the Boise Apple store and they argued. Can you believe this? Apple Store Boise and the corporate Apple.com argued about their own policies. Needless to say, the giant man came back out and refused to budge. He was quite red by this point, and told me... he literally told me that Apple doesn't know their own policies and Apple.com is wrong. He did at least have to admit that Holliday Returns were in effect, which I am certain was a sad thing for him to do. So, since Apple and Apple could not agree and I was left in the cold paying $200 more for the same computer I could buy at Apple.com, I told him that I would order the same computer from a preferred Apple partner who would happily give the discount, expercom (2 stores in Salt Lake City), and that due to his refusal to honor Apple.com policies on price matching... I would return his overpriced computer to him in about a month, once I received the other from expercom. He said with a large smile behind angry eyes, "that's fine!" Enough about the giant angry boys in Boise. Let me tell you what Apple used to be like. I remember the time when I lived in NYC and brought my 17" top of the line MacBook Pro in to the manhattan store. It was 2 months out of warranty and the motherboard was fried. I didn't even have to ask the kid who worked there, they said to me "don't worry about it man, we got it." I had my computer back to me in literally 24 hours. Customer for life, right? Yes... until now. These new kids are so short sighted and while I'm just one person, every single other person in that store heard this entire ridiculousness. How do you think that makes them feel? Do you think it makes them want to shop at Apple more, or less? You know what is really funny? Six months ago this same Apple store offered me employment. Ha ha ha, this exact same store! Yea, no. What happened Apple? What happened to you? Is the 1 trillion dollars you have in the bank not enough? If corporate is not on the same page as Boise, they need to get down here and fix this mess of a store. It's very un-Apple like. I guess I am locked in for now, having the new iPhone 11 pro max lotsa words whatever, and now having bought the new 16" MacBook Pro... but I really like Samsung gear and I'm totally fine with Android too. I don't see this company as the same company it was in 2008. I think this is the beginning of the end for me and Apple, because what these giant boys in the Boy-z Town Square Apple store don't realize is... ha ha, when you get to be my age you can afford to shop around and I don't really care what name is on my phone, computer, etc. I'm just here for the experience, and if that sucks I am gone. The experience at Boise Apple Store definitively sucks. It sucks so much that I took 20 minutes to write this, and it sucks so much that I will hang onto this experience and start looking at other options... which is actually kinda nice to be honest. After a DISASTROUS experience at the Boise Best Buy (now an "Apple Authorized Service Provider" -- but shouldn't be), I made an appt at the Apple store. I should have done that first! I thought Best Buy would be quicker -- and was completely APPALLED by its service and policy (see my review at Best Buy for that saga). Anyway, made my Apple store appointment online. Went to the store at the appointed time. Was immediately greeted by a friendly Apple person, signed in, and within five minutes, was sitting with my service person. Was told the fix would take an hour (Best Buy said minimum 30 minutes--up to 4 hours. And they wouldn't even tell me i they had the part needed for my fix!!). I showed up a little early -- and my device was completely ready. As were the Apple people....so I was on my way even before they said. My only reason for coming here was to get my battery replaced in my old iPhone SE (best iPhone design to date IMO) before the $29 battery replacement program ends (as of now it has ended). Came in on Dec 29 (I know, me coming in last minute puts the blame on me), but since this is my backup phone, I was actually planning on just dropping it off that day and waiting however long it would take them to replace it, worry free. Upon entering the store, I had an Apple guy already coming up to me asking what I'm here for. Once I told him I was here for a battery replacement and NOT to buy something, I was told to wait in this makeshift line all the way to the left of the store, since there were a couple of customers waiting on someone to setup a time for their repairs. I'm sure if I came here to actually buy something, I would've been out of there in less than 10 minutes. There were so many Apple employees walking around, but only had 1 guy working that makeshift line of customers (he was getting swamped, I did feel bad for him). I was already getting aggy, but understood this is what I get for waiting until the last minute. After 35 minutes, I finally spoke to the guy. He mentioned they didn't have my iPhone's battery in stock. Once it would arrive, they'd call me to setup an appointment for me to drop the phone off. I wanted to drop my phone off already (to save the second trip), but he didn't allow that. I agreed, mainly because they'd still honor the $29 repair in 2019 (since I made the request in 2018), and waited for their call. 1 hour down the drain, but at least a plan was put in motion. Exactly 2 weeks passed and I still haven't heard ANYTHING about my battery (not via email OR phone). I didn't need this repair done ASAP, but I knew that if I wouldn't be the responsible one and follow up myself, this request would probably just fly into the wind, meaning I'd never hear back from them again, or they'd say it was too long since original request and we can't offer $29 price. Now, this is the part where I realized I was now going to be a temporary Apple employee, trying to make calls and get info about my request, all of the things they PAY their employees to do. The phone # displayed for the Boise store IS NOTHING MORE THAN A 1-800 NUMBER, where you follow the robotic prompts until you finally get to talk to someone (that doesn't even work at this Boise store). When I finally got past the robot and was notified that I'd be speaking with an actual person, I chose to NOT listen to any waiting music, #4 on the keypad (I don't think my heart would've made it out alive having to do all this thinking and planning on what I'd say once someone finally picks up while listening to Cardi B or some other garbage music). 18 minutes of silence passed, I literally thought my call was just dropped or was left somewhere in the "Sunken Place" like in the movie Get Out (which is so good btw). I decided to hang up, call again, and after another 20 minutes of waiting, I finally got to talk to someone from an Apple call center (this is when I realized the phone # the Boise store lists IS NOT THEIR ACTUAL STORE #). I had to explain to him the whole story, he said he'd have to call the Boise store to see if the battery came in (been 2 weeks fam, how can it not be in...). He called me again in about 10 minutes, told me it was in. This, my friends, is where my magical Boise Apple store story ends. I came in that same day, spent 10 minutes prior to dropping my phone off, walked around the mall and poured out some liquor for the fallen Sears store inside the mall, and in exactly 1 hour I came back and it was fixed. Overall, the bad - I temporarily had to become an unofficial Apple employee, clock in, and spend time working my own request. The good - repair was done in the exact time frame originally quoted (1 hr), and in the end, my battery was replaced (technically I wouldn't know for sure other than the Battery Health meter going from 89% to 100% in the settings app). My advice for anyone having to come here, especially for anything other than just buying something, is to understand you might be in for an adventure... An adventure filled with many emotions, unexpected turns, and deep questions...Questions like "is life even worth it?", "Are we alone in the universe?", or "What was J.R. Smith thinking in Game 1 of the NBA finals in 2018?". History's Mysteries... 2 star rating is specifically for how this Boise Store operates. +1 star for actually doing the repair, +1 star for the couple of Apple workers I interacted with in here, especially the guy who gave me my phone back and took my payment info, were very polite, understanding, at the end got the job done. At the end of the day, I saved $20 by doing the battery replacement prior to the special program ending. If I had to do it again, knowing it would take this kind of effort, I'd pass. read more

I had a marathon Genius Bar session at the Apple Store on 6/27/18. My son and I were experiencing issues with 2 of our IPhone 6 Plus phones. I had spoken with Apple Care prior to stopping by but the Apple Care representative failed to save the notes that went over what we had discussed. So, the store representative had to start from scratch. Enter Emmanuel. He was awesome! This man worked with us for 5 HOURS!!!!! Not once did he get annoyed or frustrated with us (at least he never showed it). I ended up having to call Apple Care back while at the store to get a CS code generated. While I was on the phone with them (90 minutes) Emmanuel helped other customers, but regularly checked back in with me to see if we were ready. Finally, Apple Care generated the codes and we thought we were home free. Nope! Lol. The system kept messing up and Emmanuel was basically stuck in a computer hamster wheel. I felt bad for him. But, he was able to get everything figured out and get us taken care of. I honestly can't say enough positive about him! When we left the store, we were totally satisfied with how they handled everything. There are not many other scenarios where I can say that I spent 5 hours dealing with an issue and left feeling happy with the overall experience and customer service. Shout out to ALEX!! I won't list all the weird Catch-22s that had to do with replacing our aging phone that had been purchased and replaced twice, multiple insurance companies, multiple carriers. It was a worst-case kind of situation for phone replacement and recovery. It took a LOT of work and persistence ... but Alex was happy, helpful, diligent, very highly knowledgeable, and worked hard and long until all was resolved. The same applies to local Boise management .. for the management overrides that were necessary. Whatever Alex is getting paid, it's not half of what she's worth! The end result? A complete replacement of the unrepairable phone that we brought in, and for half the price that we expected. Thank you!!! read more

I LOVE the Apple Store! It is always clean. They are always busy and yet they always have someone that can help you with little to no waiting. They have live displays that you can try out to decide which device best fits your needs. When you've selected your items to purchase you don't have to go wait in line, the employee helping you just rings up all your items right there. If you need assistance with your Apple device it is super easy to schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar with their Apple Store app or online at Apple.com. Then just show up for appointment and check in. No having to wait lengthy amounts of time for help. I've never had an issue with Genius assistance, a repair or replacement. They love taking care of their customers. Yes Apple costs more than its competitors, but you can not get this kind of service from any of them. read more

I had to visit the Apple store a second time, because another brand new device I purchased online had dead pixels. I couldn't use their telephone and shipping service because I am about to travel quite a bit and I needed them to take care of the issue quick. In the store they offered me to replace the display on my brand new iPhone which I unhappily agreed to (I was expecting a replacement of the phone with a new one since the one I brought into service was brand new but the only replacement phones they have are refurbished ones). The service people I dealt with were much friendlier than on my previous visits but nevertheless once I received my "repaired" device back they had scratched the body of the phone while doing the repair. Please people be aware that this location does not take very good care of your valuables... Again I had several experiences with this particular location, which were pretty negative. I thought about posting this second review since the Manager was very sorry about my issue and some employees there are extremely friendly, but that does not excuse the sloppy work that has been done there... I believe that people (especially Apple Fans) should know about it in advance and I urge everyone with an issue to use the Corporate Support (telephone support with postal repair) - avoid this location if you can! read more

Back for another visit to switch lines from different phones and to activate a new iPhone 6. Activating a single phone line from an older model to the newer is no heavy lifting. But to set the new phone to one line and to transfer the 2nd line to the older phone is more than a little shift. It required the Apple Genius to coordinate with ATT to get the codes correct to do the switching. More than what I wanted to coordinate, so I let them do the job. On top of the phone line switching, they backed up both phones data, installed the new iOS 8 on the older phone and then retrieved the backups to the right phone. Just to make their day, I had them install iOS 8 to my iPad Air. Everything worked great afterwards, except I had to reinstall certain passwords. The Apple Store was quite busy this Sunday, unlike my last visit, but the Apple folks were quite efficient and each kept several customers going between downloads and transfers. Real juggling with good nature thrown in. BTW, an hour plus of their time did not cost me a dime. Just part of product support. Just a note, it would help if some people understood their technology a bit more before coming in. Several people don't know reset buttons exist on iPhones and they could have saved time all the way around. Same with the laptops. And a couple of customers learned that iPhones are not indestructible, even with gorilla glass. Get a case for your phone!! read more

This is the first official Apple Store in Boise, ID. As usual, the store has the typical sleek cookie cutter look that all Apple stores have. My only gripe with this store, is that the sales reps are a little too pushy. Typically Apple stores tend to overstaff, but it works well because most Apple stores are usually very busy. This store never seems to be as busy, and so I always feel like 3 store reps are always on my tail asking me questions and trying to show me things. My other tiny little gripe, is the reps tend to lack basic apple culture knowledge. I walked into the store wearing an iJustine shirt and had 4 reps all ask me who iJustine was. While not every mac user knows who Justine Ezarik is, I would expect basic Apple employees to have a tiny bit of knowledge of her existence. Overall, a good store that beats both price, selection, and service over any 3rd party or authorized retailer in Boise. read more

I arrived about 10 minutes late for my appointment but they still took me in like it was no big deal. That was nice. I worked with an Alex, who worked on for a few, and then switched me for a new phone. (sweet) We were done, and I walked out tried to call my husband and nothing worked on the phone. The guy had totally forgot to activate it. Thankfully I came back in and worked with a Stuart who was perfectly friendly and 100% professional & helpful. He called Verizon and worked everything out for me. I love Apple and the store is so squeaky clean. So So So glad to finally have one in Boise. + They have cute little "kid stations" set up with iPads for them to play with while you are shopping/getting help etc. read more

I'm absolutely horrified at how poorly I, an over 20 year Apple customer, was just treated in this store. I've used Apple products personally and for my business for as long as they've been in existence. I had the original iPhone when it was released, I had the original Apple 2 as a child, the first Macintosh in college. I was expecting to trade in my iPhone as I'm enrolled in the upgrade program but was told I couldn't because my Verizon plan disqualifies me as it's not a contract Plan. Why would I get a contract plan I don't need because I'm getting a phone elsewhere??? This was confusing because when I started the program I was on a month to month T-Mobile plan and what was communicated at the time in that store a year earlier was I only need to stick with T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon, or Sprint to be eligible for an upgrade, which I did. So the initial sales girl trying to be as helpful as possible got the floor lead and she, instead of trying to work things out, started off insultingly curt, disrespectful, and with an attitude that I was somehow the enemy and didn't belong in there. I will think long and hard about buying another Apple product again, I cannot support a company that treats its loyal customers so poorly and doesn't stand behind its agreements. Its shocking really, I guess Apple doesn't care about its customers anymore. There are plenty of options out there these days, may be time to put Apple in the rear view mirror I suppose, without integrity they deserve no loyalty.
