While traveling, I cracked my screen protector. My OCD was lighting up my brain every time I used my phone, so I had to get something done. Luckily, an Apple Store was a block away from my hotel in this fantastic building. It is worth the trip to check out the Carnegie Library and the Apple people were great. Fast, helpful and cheerful. We got into a long discussion about using the iPhone satellite texting feature (previous attempts to use it were fruitless). Oh, and my phone was fixed too.

I have been many apple stores, but this has to be my favorite. They said this is the second largest Apple store in the world. The best part about this store is that they allow dogs. Customer service is very good. It's easy to find a tech support in this story. They have so many people working here. I have had a couple of issues and their team was able to resolve it soon. I also had issues with Beats Pro, they were so nice to replace it with AirPods Pro. This location has street parking. I recommend taking a metro if you don't plan to drive. It's easy to book appointments online as well. Since they have so many technicians, it's easy to book same day appointments too.

Not sure why they don't have a 5 star rating! I came in, appointment was taken early, and Ben solved my issue. Everyone, including security, were nice and customer service oriented. Love this location better than Georgetown. Thanks Apple and Ben

The store is huge and they offer classes. However, I made a Genius Bar appointment in person because I needed to see someone rather than speak to them online via Apple Care. The Apple Care representative made the appointment for me a few days before going in. When I arrived, I discovered they must have got my details mixed up with another customer. I was there for a Mac computer rather than a cell phone. They asked me to wait another 20 minutes. When I received a text to go see about the Genius Bar, I was called back to a different room. I waited again. I was 40 minutes in before I saw the Genius Bar tech and he wasn't able to fully address the issue. He helped with some of it but advised me to call Apple Care when I got home. He implied Apple Care consultants received better training than employees who worked inside the store. When I got home, I called Apple Care and the supervisor was able to assist with all of my concerns. I'm not sure what's happened to Apple regarding service and their store locations. But, Apple Care is also hit or miss with customer service too. In store U.S. customer service has always been excellent. They've always been able to resolve an issue during an appointment. I've never been sent away and asked to call Apple Care. Apple Carnegie Library location is great for buying products and trying them out beforehand. In addition, the basement is a museum. It's worth a visit but maybe not at their Genius Bar.

This store looks pretty, and everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. However, if you look below that superficial surface, their process and setup for their Genius Bar needs help. I was passed off to at least six people with tons of wait time sitting waiting in between. And this was after I had already contacted Apple Support who had documented my problem. 1. I encountered someone at the door who I told I had an appointment. But then even though the details of my problem were in the notes I had provided, plus the Apple Support notes, she proceeded to ask me the problem and describe it. She directed me to a location to sit and wait. I was five minutes early, so waiting for five minutes didn't seem too unreasonable. Except that there were tons of employees all around me laughing and joking and not doing anything. I sat there for 10+ minutes until employee 2 showed up. 2. Employee two proceeded to ask me again what the problem was. I described it again and they started the process to connect the iPad to their laptop to force a manual update to restart. Told me it should only be about 10-15 mins and he would be back. About 30 mins later he came back and discovered that the update had stopped while he was away. He proceeded to restart the update but then passed me off to employee three who was supposed to monitor. 3. Employee three stuck around for about a minute and said he would be back. 10 mins later I was able to flag him down because something else had happened to the device that he needed to fix. 4. He passed me off to employee four. Employee four also stayed for a minute or so and then proceeded to help other guests. I flagged him down when the iPad needed something else done to it, and it looked like another failed attempt to install the update so he contacted employee 3. Employee 3 came back and said that I'd need a new iPad. He passed me off to employee 5. 5. Employee five was quick, stayed with me, and explained what she was doing the whole time. But then she said her shift ended and passed me off to (unseen) employee 6 who was supposed to order a new iPad. 6. Employee 4 came to check on me after I stood up very annoyed at about the 30 minute mark. 30 minutes since employee 5 left, 2 hours total there. He assured me they made contact and were processing the order. He came back 10 minutes later and then I could finally leave. Not with my new iPad, oh no, I had to go to another Apple Store for that...!

I literally went to the back of the store towards because it felt like the right area to go. No luck with that train of thought because there was nothing in this area. Surprisingly the area I needed to look in was exactly right inside the entrance to this store. After finally figuring this out, I stood in front of the items and tried to figure out which item would fit the model of iPad I had. It didn't help that they had the items in bulky theft deterring cases. I know why they had to put them in these, but it made it hard to figure out if each one of them would fit my iPad. It was quite the ordeal to pick up each one, attempt to read the backs of each and then switch up. It didn't help that I had a bag with me with items in it and I didn't want to put it down. What made matters worse here was the noise level. It was so loud that it was hard to concentrate. It was like I was in a frat house during a party. The music was so loud in here that you could hardly hear a thing. In fact, when I was asked if I needed help, I declined instead of having to yell my answers/questions to the store employee. When you thought the music was finally being turned down, the volume shot back up. I had enough of this and decided to leave. I ended up picking up my item elsewhere. A place that I wasn't in the middle of the rave.

In terms of PC parts they're technically here, but it's not really kid in a candy store vibe for tech that I was hoping for. I've only ever done purchases, never had to get tech support so can't speak on that angle. It's a little better than buying parts on Newegg, but sometimes the variety of parts leave little room for variety. When I specific tech concerns for my rig, some of the staff kind of gave me the path of least resistance answer like "we don't do that here", not even at least trying to attempt to solve my problem or tell me where else I should go. Was hoping this would be a good spot to go if I ever did need tech support, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I've spent thousands of dollars consistently at this Micro Center location over the past year,…read moreprimarily on higher-end PC components. Unfortunately, my experiences have repeatedly involved inaccurate guidance from staff and a lack of follow-through when issues arise. During a workstation build, I purchased a motherboard and was told confidently that it supported four NVMe SSDs. Based on that advice, I was sold four NVMe drives at the same time. After getting home and installing everything, I discovered the fourth "slot" was actually a Wi-Fi NVMe slot, and Micro Center does not even carry an SSD compatible with it. This should have been identified at the point of sale, especially since the motherboard and SSDs were purchased together. In that same build, I was also sold a Wi-Fi PCIe card alongside an AMD motherboard, despite the box clearly stating it was not compatible with AMD platforms. Again, this was sold with confidence by staff while all components were being purchased together. I also ran into a fitment issue with an AIO cooler. I explicitly told the associate I was using a Corsair Obsidian 1000D case, and the rep looked up the case and assured me a 360mm AIO would fit. After getting everything home, I found that the case requires a 420mm AIO in the top configuration. The unit I was sold also appeared to be an older, unbranded model pulled from the back rather than a clearly current, well-documented option adding to my concern about the recommendation. More recently, I placed an in-store hold on a Bambu Lab P2S combo after confirming availability with an associate and was given a printed hold slip with a date and timestamp. The next day, while on my way to the store, I received a call saying the unit was no longer available and had been "allocated to online inventory." The paperwork I was given showed zero web orders, and I was told the people who could explain the allocation weren't available. I was then told a manager would follow up when new inventory arrived. I waited through a holiday, called again, and was told the manager was busy and would call me back. That call never came. As of today (Thursday), the store's website shows eight units in stock, yet no one ever contacted me. At that point, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that either follow-ups aren't being tracked or customer commitments aren't taken seriously. I understand that inventory sells out and mistakes happen. The issue is the pattern: incorrect technical guidance at purchase time, documented assurances that aren't honored, and repeated failures to close the loop after escalation. For a store that markets itself on knowledgeable staff and expert advice, this has been disappointing. I'm leaving this review so store leadership is aware. I want to continue shopping here, but based on repeated experiences, it's becoming difficult to trust the guidance or the follow-through.

Typed up and printed out my contact information should the technician need to ask any questions along the way along with explicit services I needed done: (1) annoying malware removal (2) hard drive memory reallocation. Neither was done. To be clear, the malware was pretty minor - limited to Chrome web browser - I just didn't have the time to hunt down the source myself. Also, the company lists "PC & Mac Virus Removal-Data Recovery-Repair Service" AS PART OF THEIR TAGLINE (google: "computerplus georgetown dc") but couldn't remove even a minor browser malware. The sad part was when I came to pick up my laptop, the person at the register just took my money without blinking an eye and no attempt was made to rectify or refund the $200 I donated to their business. At least a "sorry, we couldn't fix your machine" and I would've respected their integrity - but I have little evidence of that from my own personal experience. My advice, is that if they quote you anything above $125 dollars and there is nothing critical on your machine you need to retrieve, you should seriously consider just buying an old refurbished or desktop computer for $200-300 instead and starting fresh. That is ultimately the path I took. Computers these days are pretty cheap as long as you're open-minded to the brand, device, and model.
