Great place to stay in the Prescott area. We found this on booking.com. Started off with a plugged toilet but from there things went well. Property manager came out to fix the toilet. We met some great people while we were there from residents that live there to the people who stayed in the unit next to us. Unit is very quaint and as my wife described it as Rustic chic. The bed was very comfortable and the units kitchen was well stocked for most everything you need. We cooked several breakfasts and one dinner and we had all we needed to complete those tasks. All the people we met and were associated with during our stay were first rate and fun to be around. The owner is committed to true customer service and just an all around nice guy. We will definitely return to Apple Creek on our next trip to Prescott. We did stay in one of the units that had undergone a make over. So much to do and see in the area. read more

If you are looking for a place for you, and your pet, to catch a few hours of sleep, take a shower and leave, it's ok. The water is hot, the shower had a nice shower head on it. The parking was close to our room. We hope this place does improve. It has great potential. This is NOT a place to book if you actually want to spend time hanging out, eating, socializing, reading, watching TV, in the room. We stayed in the "original cottage." It was very rustic, and we like that. But, we couldn't spend the time in the room we had planned to. Here is why: 1. Newer furniture is in order, in spades. a. The furniture in our room was VERY, VERY old and worn out. My wife thought the sofa was from the 1970s or 1980s...and is so worn out that there is no support at all when you sink way down into the cushions. We are NOT large people, either. Each of us fit just fine in a vintage sports car. There is no way that I want to sit in the sofa in the room for more than a few uncomfortable minutes. Forget about talking, reading, or watching a movie in our room. b. The one "lounge" chair was so old and worn out that it is about to break apart. The cushions are worn out. After a few short minutes, the chair became a torture mechanism. c. The outdoor chairs are so old, that if one sat in them, it is likely one would crash on the pavement. Are those chairs from the 1960s? 1950s? And, they were filthy. We didn't have a washing machine available to clean our clothes were we to sit on those chairs. 2. One can only get in or out of the bed on one of it's two sides (due to small space). So one has to crawl over one's bed partner to get to the bathroom in the night. But, the lights in the bathroom are bright enough to grow weed, and therefore it's probable your bedmate will be awakened during the night. A night light for the bathroom would have helped a lot. 6. The Wifi access point is mounted to the ceiling within eyeshot of the bed. And, the indicator lights blink ALL night. As a ceiling-mounted device, one can't put something over the device to block the lights. Since the access point appears to me to uses POE (Power Over Ethernet), the owners should relocate that device away from the bed area. 7. The windows are well...so dirty that I doubt they have been cleaned in this century, and maybe never in the last century. Until my stay there, I have never seen cob webs growing INSIDE of window panes. Very Addams Family! 8. There are no screens on the windows, so opening them would not be wise, even it I wanted to touch the windows (and I didn't). And the screen door appears to about 60 years old. It does not close tightly to the frame, and so any attempt to get fresh air, invites flying insects. 9. The parking was very easy from our room, so it made it faster to load and unload our things, and our pet to/from the room. 10. If you have a dog, the grassy area is nice, and the poop can nearby was great. We always pick up after our dog, so the close-by can was great. 10. This is a "virtual" motel. No staff on-site. Phone support is in the USA, and was very polite. If that's something you like, you will be fine. If you want to get human, face-to-face service, this won't be your cup of tea. TO THE OWNERS: An excellent recommendation from my wife-The owners and managers should each spend at least 3 days/nights, in a row, in our room. That will give them a good task list to make the place much better for future guests. Again, we hope this place does improve. It has great potential. read more

So I booked here regardless of the negative reviews and I'm glad I did. This is a family owned cabin environment, yes it's old, yes there are things that need fixing... but it's dog friendly and the grounds are gorgeous! I stayed in cabin 12, which has its own private patio and fire pit. We bought wood from the front desk, which came with newspaper and twigs they gathered to help with lighting the fire... we made s'mores and enjoyed the cool weather. It looks like they've been slowly fixing and updating things. If you're a laid back person and don't need the ritz carlton to be happy, this place is great. I would definitely stay here again. *Biggest downside were the pillows. They are new but super full of stuffing so they hurt my neck. I opted for sleeping without the pillow since it was more comfortable... so bring your own pillows!! read more

My husband and I paid $230 for 2 nights in cottage #6. For the price we paid not worth it. The back bathroom in the bed room has mold growing around the toilet and in between the wood panels of the floor. Water does not stay hot for more the 5 mins at a time. There was dog hair still on the sheets. The bedroom is pretty ran down and trashy. The wall between our room and the room next door was so thin we heard everything they were saying and doing until about 4:30 am. Blinds on all the windows are falling apart. Mirrors on bed room wall and very dirty and covered in smudges and finget prints. Unless the heater is turned up all the wat it doesnt keep the living room or bed room warm. Chairs out side a are falling apart. This place has a good concept and I understand a rustic look however this cottage was not even close being worth what we paid for it. read more

This place is cute but really sad. It had styrofoam crown molding WTF? You can't afford real crown mounding. It's NOT that expensive. Why cut/miter corners? Your workers couldn't make one decision without calling you. You took an extra $100.00 from us on accident and you said just credit our card 3-5 days later Instead of just giving our cash back. It was YOUR FAULT! But you made us pay for your mistake. We now have to live with less than $100.00 for the next few days. Look at your reviews? Somethings wrong? You don't care!!!! Plus you say our room had a fireplace on our confirmation. A heater that "looks" like one doesn't count. It's a freaking space heater with a dumb looking fireplace...Ummmmmn......that doesn't count you shouldn't put in the room description that it has a fireplace. We were seriously disappointed. Plus you give us 2 wash clothes in the bathroom.... if we leave make up on there we will be charged $2.50 per cloth. Come on... you're that petty???? They leave no paper towels in the room and only 1 roll of toilet paper. You are cheap and insensitive. No hospitality at all. Grow up and give a crap about your business. Please don't go here... Stayed for one night and never again!! Our room wasn't great - a little dirty and rundown. I've seen worse but these cottages are not luxurious at all. For the price we paid, I had expected nicer amenities, or at least clean, functioning, regular amenities! Although it's billed as "dog friendly" lodging, we had some disagreements with one of the employees on the topic. Josh (I believe he's the owners' son) was rude to me about my dogs getting in the water. While I did my best to keep them away, they kept jumping in the water! Josh wasn't happy but there's only so much I could do... What's the harm really? This is supposed to be dog friendly, so if you can't stand having the dogs in the water, fence off the area! Or change your dog policies! We had another incident when we encountered a lady who was locked out of her room late at night. We called the front desk many times but nobody answered. No one was at the front either. This lady ended up climbing through a window to get into her room. What if she had fallen!?! When we told Josh about it the next day during our other conversation, he claimed the phones were broken and sometimes they don't have anyone available to help. Umm, what? What if there was an emergency??? He also said that he already talked to the lady so he "didn't have to go through this again" with me, which I thought was a very rude response since I was quite concerned about her the night before. We spent a significant amount of time trying to help her and worrying about her, so I was just hoping to have a conversation about it with Josh. I didn't like having my concerns brushed off so quickly by him. Due to being harassed about my dogs and blatantly disrespected, and just feeling dirty in general, I left Apple Creek Cottages feeling awful. My guy and I drove up to Prescott with my dog. We figured we would not have a problem finding a hotel that accepted dogs because there are so many around town. Well it was like pulling teeth, that is until we came across the Apple Creek Cottages. The lady how runs the place is beyond friendly and accommodating. The cottages are very cute and it is super quiet and romantic. There is a creek behind the hotel that my dog had a blast playing in. there is a fire pit in the courtyard and grills available for your use. Every cottage has a kitchen, some are bigger then others. We stayed mid-week (June 15-17), and had a wonderful, peaceful time. The office staff is incredibly nice. We only interacted with them in person for check-in and check-out, but I did make a couple of minor changes to our reservation (adding a dog and wifi). They sent me email confirmation of everything, and even called us on our way into town to let us know that our room was ready early. The rooms are obviously not fancy or upgraded; the counters are not granite, the appliances are not stainless steel in the kitchen, but that would be weird in the cottages. We stayed in cabin 3, which is meant for 2 people. It had a wonderful private deck with a little table and 2 chairs. We had everything we needed in the kitchen: plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses, mixing bowls, pots/pans, cutting board, utensils, coffee maker/filters, microwave, toaster, dish soap, etc. The fridge/freezer are huge. The couch was very comfortable, and the bed was perfect. The cottage was very clean, and I didn't see a single insect inside. They provide towels, wash cloths, bars of soap, and make up wipes. Safeway is about half a mile down the street, so we were able to stock up for our short visit there. There are restaurants, bars, thrift shops close by, as well as Whiskey Row and all the lovely things Downtown Prescott has to offer. The actual grounds at Apple Creek were beautiful. I read some reviews indicating that the cottages were run down, and need to be upgraded. I feel like this is an unfair assessment; should we really expect to see upgrades and modern furnishings in this type of setting? And for the price? If Apple Creek Cottages were to modernize and upgrade, they would lose so much of the charm. Also, they would become much more expensive. I think it would be bizarre to walk into one of these cottages and see a bunch of fancy-pants stuff. Anyone making a reservation here should know that this is not a 5 star hotel. The only thing that was a little janky in our cabin was the oven, but in my opinion this wasn't worth lowering my rating of this adorable place. The oven is gas, but there was no temperature gauge on the knobs, just low/medium/high. There is a thermometer in the oven, but I could only get the temperature as high as about 300 degrees. Very unaccommodating manager and very rude about a safety issue. The heating system is in the main room. It's a panel from about a foot above the floor upward about 4 feet. We let them know in advance we had two dogs and three very young children. Once inside we realized what a safety hazard the heating was. We were there for about a half-hour unpacking and let them know the issue asking if we could get a refund since we had to leave. The manager said no he could not accommodate us even though we had made the reservation that afternoon. He also stated he had children and that we should have known how the heating systems were in Prescott. read more

Don't expect a hotel room, these are cottages. We were in #6. A bedroom with two queens, a living room with kitchen and two small bathrooms. We went for fall break. Leaves we're turning colors and falling. Beautiful and what was expected. We had a bonfire at night and sat on our patio during the day. Cool at night and warm during the day. It was rustic. Chipped paint etc. We enjoyed our time away from Phoenix and may visit again sometime. Great escape for a couple days. We had no issues. read more

Price for a Friday night stay in a two bedroom cottage: $175 plus tax, wifi not included. Parking: There was no empty space available for our family, and we had a baby in tow. My husband had to park at a hotel down the street and walk back to the cottage at 9pm. (Although a dirt lot was pointed out to him, across the street and in the forest trees, which he did not find suitable for our car.) Cottages: Although the positives in having a cottage to yourself is the privacy, they are all centered around the small courtyard. Based on the tvs alone, I would say that nothing has been updated or replaced since the 1990s. Although we are not there to watch tv, we were suprised to see these behemoths. Consequently, the two couches in the cabin were just as old...there was a visible film of dirt and grease from the years of filthy bottoms that have sat upon them. However, the overall cleanliness of the cottage was commendable. It smelled clean, the floors were clean, and the furnishings were free of dust. But unless the upholstery is thoroughly shampooed in the future, and the bed linens replaced, it will still look like putting lipstick on a pig. We brought our own blankets and pillows, having read the not so happy reviews of the beds - and so we slept peacefully and comfortably, as the beds themselves were very welcoming. The kitchenettes are one of the reasons we chose the cottage. They do have everything you need, including kitchen utensils and plates and cups...even a pizza cutter. The standard sized refrigerator is also a huge bonus. Bathrooms are teeny, there is no counter space for toiletries, I am surprised they were able to fit a tub in there... Front Desk: Both reservations and check in I talked to the same sweet woman, and I have no complaints. The down side to their operation, however, is that the office closes at 5p. This means that should something arise, you have to call the after hours number and leave a voicemail, and hope that someone gets back to you. Otherwise you are SOL. (Like when we got back to our cottage at 9p and realized we had no parking space!) Housekeeping: Be very aware that this is not a typical hotel with daily house keeping or cleaning. I don't need or expect that, so it doesn't bother me - but unless you are there for more than a week you will not have your bed made, your floor mopped, or your bottom wiped by someone. read more

This was the last night of our three week 10 state adventure and I wanted to stay at a cute little cottage. The Apple creek cottage truly fit the bill. We arrived late n were emailed detailed instructions on how to find our cottage. It was absolutely darling pet friendly and well appointed. The grounds were so welcoming with fire pits lots of bbq grills n places to just sit n enjoy the evening. Having a kitchenette was welcome as we had been camping and to cook a nice dinner was pleasant. Very reasonable rates. Not in downtown but we preferred that. It's kinda a cute place but it needs so major updates. The kitchen is small and a nice added feature if you want to make your own meals. The sofa was very stiff and a little uncomfortable. The wall paper all around the place is sort of peeling off and looks a little worn. The parking was horrible. They put post and rope around in an attempt to make spots but they are very small and some are crooked and difficult to get in and out. Worst of all was the wifi. I guess I just expect every place to have the ability to connect to the Internet but sometimes it was so slow I couldn't connect which isn't a problem if you come out to escape but is a little annoying if you wanted to stream a movie late at night. read more

We have been here four times this past year, love it! I found this little hidden gem on Groupon, great prices for a relaxing getaway. Have stay in a couple different cottages each is rustic and unique, with great sleep in their new beds. Beautiful property surrounded by greenery, we enjoy meeting other guests in the evening by the fire. The staff is always so welcoming and Josh the manager will take care of you. We have watched him make many updates and changes to the property always excited to see what he has done next! Keep up the good work guys! Highly recommend to family and friends for a quick escape. The people working here are very nice. Having said that, the property is not in great shape. The shower is functional but the door is cracked and there is considerable water damage. The entire place is lacking. It's like pieced together with bubble gum and duct tape. The bed was comfortable but I found two spiders ewww. All in all probably first and last visit here. read more

RUN AWAY How anyone gave this dump more than one star ??? I had what they called a suite lol. The bathroom from one wall to the sink is 24" when you sit on the toilet ur knees are 8" from the wall in front of you. The shower is 28"x 28" Im 6' 235lb. If your 250 or more your not fitting. From the street it looks like a quaint rustic cottage from the inside rustic turns to hillbilly hell. Once u pay at the office your screwed no refunds. Run down is a under statement. The out door area there so proud of the furniture is yard sale at best. WE BOOKED ON LINE 3 nights in 3 days no maid service no clean towels no NOTHING. We saw the pictures and thought it would be fun for our 11 y/o daughter. She seemed to like the quaint furnishings and the cutesy garden elements. My wife and I however were somewhat appalled, especially for the price we paid 129.00 + tax for a night. Everything such as locks, faucets, water and outlets worked and nothing was unsanitary ...but it was not especially clean either. There were lots of low quality fake plants and all of them were noticeably dusty. I would say the quality of maintenance of features such as bathtub grout, tiles and furniture paint was poor/neglected. The manager never met us when we arrived, although she was sweet on the phone. She never returned a call about wireless internet access. For the price I had much higher expectations. If it had been 69.00 or even 80.00 per night I would not have complained. read more

The room was very large and comfortable. The bed was perfect! Soooo comfortable. Full kitchen with everything. Great location. Felt like we were in the woods, but a 6 dollar cab to Whiskey Row. Cottages are worth the sale price on Groupon, wouldn't pay more. The pictures on Groupon make it seem as though there is a lake close by (walking distance) but there isn't. We went to Goldwater lake which was about a 15 minute drive. The front desk staff was all very nice and helpful. Bed is 1980's maybe hard and old, room smelled like gas when we arrived and I called after hours help they told me the pilot light goes out on the stove if the house cleaner leaves the door open and there's a wind, lol, well there was a wind! He told me to turn off the main gas line behind the stove, I did and the smell dissipated Bathroom is dirty hair shavings on faucet from previous Tenant and just generally old, torn wall paper holes in walls and shower is gross. Kitchen is old and there are dishes to use but when you sign in you initial that you will wash all the dishes SO THERE ARE NO CLEANLINESS STANDARDS, it is whatever the last guest thought was fair. Yuck! We bought paper plates, cups, and utensils I suggest you do same if you stay here. ....bedding is old and torn! Cabinets have missing parts curtains are ties in a knot to open in kitchenette and front room curtains are hung upside down. We were looking for the quaint country experience we got the run down forgotten cottage from 1990's grounds are country looking in photos but in person not the same, concrete is torn up in spots and unkept. Remember NO REFUNDS, and if you get makeup on bathroom towels you sign at check in that you will pay 2.50-7.50 per towel in damage charges. read more

I'm not sure why my review of this awful place is not recommended, but hopefully people will see it anyways and run away from this place as quick as possible. We had a Groupon gift to stay here for my birthday and we were so excited for the stay. When we arrived my heart sank. It was a nightmare. First there was no one in the office to check us in. There was a note and a phone number to call. We called that number and several other numbers yet got no answer. We left a voicemail letting them know we were trying to check in. About 15 minutes later someone came out of a room and we asked her if she worked there and she did, yet she was not the one running their office. She had to track her down. I also forgot to mention that it was cold and raining. We got checked in and paid the additional $30 for taxes and internet. So all in all it was a $180 room for a two night stay. We entered the room and it was so saddening to see what we saw The room was so outdated and run down looking. It was clean yet stained and old. The bed spread had at least three tears in it that I could see without further searching it. The pillows were the thinnest pillows I have ever seen. There was a tiny box television about 19inches, that sat up on a falling apart closet like shelf. The channels were fuzzy. The closet doors didn't fully shut. The leather chair in the room was so uncomfortable. The room had a stale old food smell to it. It was horrible there. I couldn't believe what was charged for the room. We did not stay. Group in refunded us our money and the owner reluctantly refunded us our additional fees. The owner said that was one of his most loved rooms by guests and said that they were outdated because it was a cottage. It didn't have a cottage or cabin feel at all. There was no cozy feel at all. I wouldn't recommend staying there to anyone. Cottage #8 was a nightmare. I expected quite a bit more for what they charged. We even got a discount at $180 for the weekend because it was a Groupon deal. I couldn't imagine paying full price for that place. There are much nicer places in Prescott that are cheaper and much cozier and clean feeling. We stayed in a very old hotel for the weekend afterwards and it was delightful and cheaper :) read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here last year for Easter Weekend. It was a very relaxing experience. Cute cottages, very outdoorsy feeling. We enjoyed our time there, no issues. Was nasty I'm not sure why the the walls didn't match the trim was falling off the fridge sounded like it was about to shit the bed there was no hot water or water pressure.was told there's a fireplace in the room to find out it was a Costco pos gas fake fireplace. You could hear the traffic through the walls the parking was ridiculous you can't fit amid size truck in spots I ran over a few of the posts trying to park. WiFi doesn't work for shit basically a run downshit house. But that's to be expected since the owner is a slum lord with other properties they own. I've stayed here a total of 3 times. The other stays were pretty good. The property looks cute and quaint at first glance but this third time I was pretty disappointed. I booked our stay through a travel website which said check in at 1pm. I also received an email from the property mgmt...again saying check in is at 1pm. So I planned our arrival to be around 1pm. The day of our check in the someone from Apple Creek Cottages called to confirm my arrival and I said yes we'll be there around check in time, 1pm. I was then told that my room is not guaranteed until 5pm!!! In shock I let them know that the travel website and email says 1pm! They said they'd make an exception for me and had our room ready at 1pm. The staff was very friendly upon check in BUT Just so everyone knows check in when your room is ready so just be prepared. Also the property needs updating and some money put in to it. Things in our room were falling apart (window screen) and terrible paint job. The patio furniture is filthy. This was my last time at Apple Creek Cottages. read more

Got a Groupon for cottage 10. Called a week ago during business hours and left a voice message advising I wanted to make a reservation. I did not get a call back, so I called again two days later and left another voice message and still did not get a call back. I called a week later and finally got somebody to answer. They advised cottage 10 was all booked up during the Groupon time frame to use it and wanted to downgrade me to a smaller cottage. What a waste! read more

Please don't stay here. If you are like us, you're probably looking for a charming, romantic cabin experience. Well, this is not the place. I wish i had read the reviews. The cottage we stayed in was clean, but outdated. The bedspread was faded and old and the pillows were thin. The t.v. was in an armoire type of thing and the doors wouldn't stay open, so we had to put a broom in front of one of the does so we could watch t.v. the sofa was so old that when we sat on it, we sank down and the cushions slid out. We were so disappointed. At the end of the day we wouldn't even want to go back to rest. It's expensive for what it is. I have to say the staff was super friendly, but the place just didn't cut it. The only reason I could understand why someone would want to stay here is that they are pet friendly, but we didn't have pets to worry about. read more

I dont even know where to begin so I will just warn of a few of the worst parts: cockroaches, no working wi-fi, nobody onsite to help with anything, dirty, outdated, TVs are a joke, and the locks on the door didnt work. Terrible experience read more

We left shortly after arriving, forfeiting our prepaid groupon fees for a two night stay. The motel is old, outdated and rather shabby, hard to tell how clean because of the condition. The grounds were unkempt and dirty. read more
