You get amazing views of the mountains and some refreshing cool air. There five choices of places to rent from. Some are either 2 or 3 bedrooms. These places are beautiful! We stayed in Gamble Oak which is a two story, three bedroom cabin with a wraparound balcony. There was a fire pit for an evening campfire (supplied with precut wood) and plenty of spots around it to go for a hike or a bike ride. The living room was nice and spacious with large windows so you can soak in plenty of nature. They had plenty of pots, pans, dishes and cups you can use. If you are in need of entertainment, we had both Netflix and Hulu choices along with pretty decent Wifi. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely make a return visit. The only issue was the 3 mile dirt road leading up to the cabins. It can be pretty bumpy for a smaller car. Spruce Mtn rentals are very pet friendly and require a small deposit fee.

TLDR: unprofessional couple owns this business, knows nothing about renting out cabins,…read moreunresponsive in times of need. Host will make false accusations about you to justify her own lack of ability to run a business. I stayed at a cabin via Airbnb through Wendy Temple (one of the supposed owners of this business). She seemed nice at first but obviously did not know how to deal with how to run a cabin rental business. Her cabin ran out of water the second day when we tried to take body showers. Her listing says it can fit up to 12 people and we only have 7 in our group. She did NOT notify me beforehand that the cabin had low reservoirs or that it wouldn't support even basic body showers. None of us used showers the first day either as we arrived late and only had time to eat dinner and go to bed shortly after. Contacted Airbnb because I had no choice after she didn't respond about losing running water at 8:30pm. I gave her until 10:30pm before I contacted Airbnb. Having running water is an essential to every rental I think every guest and host would agree. Her hot tub also failed all the test strips making it unsafe for use. I asked her how to fix that before any of us could use it and she also never responded to me about that BUT in her review she was quite quick to claim that I "managed to ruin the hot tub". Because she was so mad that Airbnb forced her to refund me a partial amount of money, she also unprofessionally wrote a very immature and emotionally charged review for me as a guest on the platform. My review was professional and only stated facts. I also have video evidence of the tap not working even to wash a couple of dishes. There is probably a reason why every review on here is bad and this business remains unclaimed on Yelp. DO NOT rent through them if you have the choice. If you're still curious about the whole story and thinking about renting with this couple's company, I'm happy to provide receipts of my interaction with her. It's not worth working with them. Save yourself the hassle.

But still with super cool and creative design. Maddie was extraordinarily friendly, professional and welcoming. We reserved room #6 which was perfect for my partner and I. Perfectly sized so we could both move around without bumping into one another. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Some rooms (ours was one) come with carports to protect your vehicle from the brutal Arizona sun. Although, it's not so brutal up here (we came in June and the temps definitely beat Phoenix temps). Each room has a lovely little patio area in front where you can enjoy some outdoor time with lovely views of pine trees. It was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Also, if you're up there in summer and can brave the summer temps, it was a nice walk (about 1.5 miles) to Whiskey Row where all the excitement lies. If you like fun, thoughtful decor, this is definitely your spot. I highly recommend staying here.

Yeah, there was a loss of communication on the ability to check in after hours (their office hours end at 5 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends). I ended up staying at a nearby motel, the Sierra Inn, just down the street (see my review of that place). I did return the next day and I got a refund (all but the non-refundable $25). Kaylee was especially kind in helping me get my refund. I hope I get a chance to stay there on the next trip thru Prescott. NOTE - this motel has the shortest office hours of any that I've ever stayed at, but they do have digital keys for the rooms, so you can arrive after office hours and still get in. There was a glitch on the phone number help line, that I'm sure will be rectified promptly. You park in front of your room and the parking is a little tight, so don't bring your Giant 4x4 or RV. So why did I give a motel 5 stars without having stayed there? Well, mostly because of Kaylee at the front desk. She went above and beyond to help me get my money back, and if the rooms are as good as her assistance was, it's worth every star.
