An OS update caused my ipad to stop working and enter support.apple.com/ipad/restore screen. I followed the process to recover but kept getting an error 'The iPad[device name] could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4013).' Mind you: there is no physical damage to the device. It looks brand new with no marks or scratches. It has never been opened. After spending hours with support I was presented with one choice: spend $281 to send it in for repair. This is essentially buying a new iPad, not support. When I explained this is a lie to call it support when it is essentially a new purchase, I was escalated four times. I figured, "now I am getting somewhere". I then asked if destruction of people's devices without any consequence was something Apple found acceptable, the 4th level technician said "No" and when I asked how Apple would know whether this is occurring he insisted that Apple would never want this to occur. And so I asked how Apple would know if, as he indicates we are out of support options? He then hung up on me. I advise everyone to avoid Apple products. They are great when they work, but Apple takes no responsibility for updates that destroy your device and does not even have a way to identify when this occurs. They ignore that it occurs in fact. I am now going to sell it for parts to avoid greater losses. The funny thing is, I was sooo enthusiastic about getting the device. It is very sad when a brand falls from grace like this. read more

I bought a "clean up" app for my Apple I Phone 13 for $59.99 and installed it. After 24 hours, it was still cleaning my photos and there was no way to exit the app or this function. I asked for a refund immediately. I got a response, via text, that they needed more info so I supplied all the details. I got a response that the refund was denied. I appealed and they let me add more details but, 24 hours later, it was denied again. I then navigated their menu and actually talked to a live adviser who basically said "tough luck". I told her that I was on a fixed income and she did not care. I said that they could charge me something but not the full $59.99 but she said that nothing else could be done. I threatened to write Tim Cook about the entire situation and she, actually, chuckled. I have emailed twice, and written an actual letter, to Tim Cook with no response. Beware if you install an app from I Tunes and it doesn't work for any reason. There is no refund policy. read more

I purchased the latest Apple iphones for my whole family. Three of which did not work properly. By not working properly, I mean that They Are Non Functional. Apple did not help us at all, even after multiple wasted trips to the " genius bar " ( btw, Apple, calling it the genius bar isn't accurate unless you actually employ qualified and helpful people ) After this experience, which is wayyy too long of a story My advice would be stay away from these products. They are not all they're cracked up to be. I feel taken. I was mislead and lied to multiple times. Horrible company. Strongly advice not to use their products including apps. Spent 2k on an online game, (Final Warrior: The Strike), only to find out the game developers sells at an extremely discounted rate where the game developers reach out individually to the high spending (whales) players. Asked apple for money back spent and was told to go through my credit card or store where I bought my gift cards. I asked them who keeps spent gift cards? do not use apple savings account! I have had almost $2000 locked up in "transfer purgatory" because of apple with no answers in sight. they keep telling me I'll get my funds the next day and I don't. I've had reps lie to me, hang up on me, or just blindly transfer me in regards to the issue. I've spent over 10 hours on the phone with over 12 reps for over 7 days. do not use apple savings account. you will regret it and may lose access to a lot of money. I work for a hospital, and was recently provided a work supplied iphone, and was recently instructed to use my work e-mail to sign up for an Apple ID to download Cisco Duo. The new use of Cisco Duo was widespread recently, due to a change in 2FA systems, and many, many users were suddenly making accounts with their work e-mail as an Apple ID. Apple has inconsistently deactivated some, not all, accounts that were created the past week. Accounts that were valid employees, using valid work e-mail, on a valid work supplied iphone, to do valid work tasks. And all they wanted to do was hide behind a legal EULA acting like they did such a great service, and refused to have any kind of rational conversation about the account deactivations, to the point they wouldn't even describe what happened as a trigger for this action. So they've proven they'd rather spout a bunch of legal technicalities rather than work with hospital employees doing legitimate work to ensure they can do their job to maintain hospital equipment operation to provide patient treatment. read more

Celtics beats are junk!! I would have posted with zero stars but Yelp wouldn't let me!! We paid 360$ for Celtics beats headphones for my sons birthday on Jan 17th 2020. I bought them in nov from kohl's and have all the receipts. We tried to get the headphones repaired months ago through apple service center. We were told they needed to be dropped off at a service center. This is after an hour on the phone. So we went to take them in driving 30 miles one way to find the apple store the service center in Arcata had been closed. Another hour on the phone I find out the only option is to drop them off in San Rafael 3 1/2 hours drive one way. I tried a couple more times to contact out of the area service centers so we didn't have to travel so far it is covid. No luck, so I waited tell after the holidays to call back. Another hour on a chat transfers many times I was told now I'm past warranty and I would have to pay 230$ for the repair. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. Apple has been one of my favorite companies for years. I just purchased an iphone12 and my wife and son both have them too. I will be serious thinking about not replacing my next phones with apple products after this experience. I really can't believe all the run around and will be posting this on as many reviews that I can. I'm truly disgusted with apple and beats!! read more

Apple sold me a defective Mac Pro with broken logic board and broken graphics card. It crashed all the time and they misdiagnosed the problem for over a year before fixing it. I asked for a year extension to Apple care and they said for me to read the small print that they were not responsible for any issues and I should be grateful it was fixed. My last two Apple computers were nightmares. Apple accidentally overcharged my credit card by $1000 and lost the shipment twice. They are no longer a responsive company and only care about profits. They have contempt for professional users, and most others in graphics arts and data management left Apple long ago for good reasons. read more

Hello, all. I ordered an iPhone 12 on 11/27/2020. On 12/1, it got to a UPS facility 6.5 miles from my house. There it sat. Apple told me that if I waited till 12/6 and it still hadn't arrived, a phone would be overnighted to me. So I called on 12/6. By 12/8, still having received no phone and no confirmation that one was on the way, I called Apple, which said that what I had been told was wrong. A tracking team would need to conduct an investigation, and that would take 4 days. When I spoke to a manager later during the same call, she said the wait was more like 11 days. The next day, 12/9, I went to the UPS facility. The counter person there said, without a moment's hesitation, "your phone's been stolen." I called Apple to convey this information. It did no good. I still have to wait until 12/17 to find out whether I'll get a replacement. This is a prime example of unbridled corporate arrogance and inertia. read more

I had an old Ipad in my drawer for years. A year or two back, I erased this Ipad and input an email address for my mom and was going to surprise her and send it to her pre-loaded with pictures on it. I put it back in the drawer and never sent it. We purchased a second home and I figured I would get it up and running to use as our HUB for lights, music, etc. Apparently, since I don't remember the password and an unable to retrieve it, the Apple representative told me that it basically is now a paperweight. Even if the last owner did not properly set up the Ipad for the next user, their online instructions say you need to reach back out to that owner....wow, what if that person has passed away or you bought it thru a third party? Right in the trash the Ipad went while I was still on the phone with the rep and I will NEVER buy an Apple product again. read more

I spoke to a representative, Collin, who claims he's only in charge of taking calls in the front desk. I expressed to him that I purchased my phone 2 months ago which puts me out of the return period and the Genius Bar did not give me a warranty solution even though I'm still in my one year warranty period. The representative ended up disconnecting the line and gave me no assistance. I expected a lot more from this Apple location and is very disappointed in their service and judgment on who they hire as customer service reps. read more

Sad. Applecare customer support fails miserably. We try calling them on the Apple 800 number to obtain the correct adapter cable for a MacBook Pro to a smart tv. We talk with this rep for over half an hour and then she says well go contact the sales department and cannot give a part number. So we call sales and they start off getting our info and then their phone connection goes bad but before they go they send us to a third person because they don't want to give us the wrong part. So we get transferred to the third person and they say we were sent to the wrong department. Apple, listen up, you are failing miserably in the customer support. Get rid of these people they only tarnish your reputation. And don't tell us we reached the wrong department. We're tired of it. read more

Even though I remember my password and enter it, a notification says they need to verify my account - with the phone number I cannot remember. I had the worst experience with Apple. I bought $6000 of iTunes songs over the course of many years. I bought a new iPhone as the screen on my old phone was not working well. On my new phone, the majority of my iTunes did not transfer over. The majority of the songs are grayed out and when I click on the grayed out songs, it says "The song is not currently available in your country or region". I cannot play these songs. I made an appointment with the Genius Bar. This appointment was over the phone. The Genius Bar person could not fix the problem after an hour of trouble shooting. This person than transferred me over to someone named "Deb". I was on the phone with Deb for around 3 hours. She still could not fix the problem. She wanted to speak with me the next day. So we set another appointment for the next day. Deb was 20 minutes late to our phone appointment the next day and we spoke for another hour and she still couldn't fix my problem. She said she would speak to engineering about my problem and call me back next week. We set an appointment for Sunday at 11:45 am PST. Sunday comes and at 11:55 Deb still hadn't called me so I leave a message for her that I am expecting her call and provide my cell phone number. Deb calls me back an hour after our scheduled appointment and says she called my home phone and left several messages. My home phone is a non Apple phone. Why would she call that? I also left her a message earlier with my cell phone which was where she was supposed to call me for our appointment. On my home phone, I have the old fashioned type of voicemail where everyone in the room can hear the voice message left. My husband and I did not hear any voice messages because Deb never left any voice messages. Not only was she an hour late, she lied. Deb could still not fix the problem. By this time, I am mad. I have been really patient for 5 hours but my patience ran out. I just spent over $1000 on a new phone and my $6000 of iTunes music is not accessible on this phone. I have the right to be mad. Since Deb could not, still, fix my phone, she passes me over to an engineer named Darren. I am expressing my frustration with Darren as I have had it. He does not believe a woman has a right to express her anger. I never criticized Darren or cursed, I was expressing my frustration at my situation which, at this point, I had the right to do. Darren tells me in a condescending tone to "check my attitude". I said that Deb was an hour late to our appointment and did not leave a voicemail. Darren responds in a nasty tone " yes she did. She left you messages" This is making me madder. Darren tells me I am hostile. At that point I hung up. Darren has no right being in customer service. Especially a customer service rep that deals with escalations. After 5 hours of being on the phone to try to fix a problem, any normal human being would be irritated at that point. A customer service representative who deals with escalations should be prepared for an upset customer and work to calm them down not tell them to "Check your attitude". Apple does not care about their clients problems. It's clear. I never got an email or a survey that asked me how my conversation went with either Deb or Darren. Most companies nowadays ask for that vital information. I have never had a customer service representative talk to me like Darren did. He was so rude and condescending to me. I will never get over it. read more

I have been a long time Apple customer. I have had many products from Apple with no issues. When I have had to call customer support, normally they are helpful and do everything they can to help me. Even with the issue being operator error. I purchased a MacBook Pro in 2015, and Apple has issued a recall on that model I have, but my serial number is not listed as being affected by the recall. They didn't want to even look at it. Said I had to pay $220 to get it fixed. Stats on the battery, 193 cycle count, less than 2% of the life expectancy. The computer has run hot since purchased, never hurt me, but has come close to burning me. It appears to me Apple is moving away from supporting their customers to nickel and diming them. Maybe if Steve Jobs was still around. Save your money, buy cheaper computers from someone else. You'll come out ahead if you ever have to repair an Apple engineering issue. It's to bad that Apple has moved away from treating their customers with respect. read more
