I found Apple Dental Center through my dental insurance's web portal and went with them because they were both local and seemed to have good ratings on Yelp. After going through a deep cleaning, I can confirm that a 5 star rating is indeed justified! One of the things I really liked about Dr. Tzou is his patience and thoroughness in explaining things and answering questions. While the office location is sort of hidden (it's upstairs and tucked away), the waiting room and all interior areas are clean, modern, and well-organized. I appreciated the calming "elevator music" that was playing in the background. It makes cleanings less stressful! As for the actual cleaning itself, those are always going to be a bit painful, but at least a thorough job was done where I hope to have less to worry about when I come back in 6 months. read more

This means he's not trying to pull out all your teeth or upsell you, just because it's easier and will make him more money. I have a good dental insurance policy but I never have the courage to go to the dentist until I found Dr. Tzou. My 5 years old niece is even braver than me that she actually doesn't mind going as long as she gets a sticker . I found Dr. Tzou 2 years ago when my oral health needed major help. I had a total of 8 appointments in that summer to get everything taken care of (wisdom tooth extraction, fillings, and replacing a crown). I have this fear that I can't be in the clinic for more than 30 minutes hence the 8 appointments. I know I'm being irrational but fear is irrational!! He SAVED me thousands of dollars. Just came back from an appt with Dr. Tzou & HAD to write a review immediately! I originally got a recommended treatment for a root canal & after spending the whole weekend Googling root canal procedures & having nightmares about needing a crown that wouldn't color match, I was so anxious when I came to see Dr. Tzou for a second opinion. He assured me that he prefers to take a conservative approach so I can keep as much of my natural tooth as possible & will do everything to avoid having to do a root canal. Sure enough, I was able to have my filling re-done without a root canal. No pain & SO grateful that I won't need a crown! I have found my future dentist & recommend his services highly! read more

I went to check it out, Dr. Jerry Tzu was very friendly, very professional and extremely honest. He walked me through all the mess-ups the previous dentist have done and then corrected them 1 by 1. I can now eat ice cream and drink hot coffee without fearing any pain. My wife also goes here now, we won't look anywhere else for another dentist. Dr. Tzou is as amazing as these reviewers say he is. I've had a cavity for a few years now and because I didn't take care of it when I should have, I ended up having the most crucial toothache i have every experienced. I couldn't even enjoy my lunar new year dinner. :( After searching on yelp, I took a chance on Dr. Tzou because of his outstanding reviews. Looking at the X-ray, Dr. Tzou told me I have options, such as getting a root canal. But I told him I just wanted it extracted. He explained to me that it will cost more if I ever wanted to replace it in the future but left it at that. He didn't pressure me to do anything I didn't want to and respected my decision. His assistant gave me a blanket and a cute matching pillow for me to hold while he did the procedure and ten minutes later, I was out of there. It was painless. The worst part was numbing it. Dr. Jerry Tzou is a great dentist. He speaks both Chinese and English fluently, is very friendly and very efficient at his job. You definitely feel like he knows what he's doing and is good at what he does. His nurses also speak both Chinese and English so there shouldn't be any sort of communication problem. I went in to get my wisdom teeth removed and the process was painless and quick - which is exactly what anyone wants a dental procedure to be. Dr. Tzou gave great instructions about how to handle the subsequent bleeding after the procedure and everything turned out fine. I healed rather quickly and there were no complications. It's a small office, very cozy and friendly. When I need to get something done, I love coming here. I never feel the dread of visiting the dentist's office when I'm at Apple Dental because the staff is so friendly and the procedures go very smoothly. read more

I use to come here as a kid and recently (after going through a few dentists closer to where I live) revisited Dr. Zhou. Why? Because having an awesome dentist is worth a further drive! Dr Zhou is super easy to interact with. He is upfront and honest about your dental needs and is super thorough with dental examinations and procedures. Dr. Zhou really is very gentle and skillful and he makes coming to the dentist a less horrifying experience. He genuinely cares about his patients dental needs and will not make you do unnecessary procedures! Front desk staff/assistants are all super pleasant and wonderful! Doctor Jerry Tzou never fails to amaze Me! My husband and I have been going to him for 14 years and now that we have a baby, I don't want to go anywhere else! My son just started walking and he recently fell and chopped his front tooth. I took him with us to our dentist appointment and asked Dr. Tzou if he could check if we should be worried? He happily obliged and our son who is barely 1, LOVED Dr. Tzou right off the bat! Everything was perfect for my 1st visit. I've been looking for the right dentist for the past... years. Think I've found one! Well, actually, a lot happened even before my 1st visit. I called like 10 times to ask for help from urgent appointment setting, calling insurance company, to getting directions. Michelle (I think that was her name) was super patient, helpful and polite. The clinic was surprisingly quiet when I arrived on a late weekday afternoon. Michelle took my x-rays and Dr. Tzou came shortly after. He was very friendly as well. I looked so nervous and they comforted me. Just like before my visit, I had mannnnny questions and Dr. Tzou examined my teeth (and jaw) and answered them one by one. Unlike all the other dentist I've visited, Dr. Tzou was very honest and did not recommend unnecessary services. For example, I always wondered if I needed a 2nd "maintenance braces"/invisalign and have asked this to all the dentists I've visited. Dr. Tzou analyzed the situation for me and told me I didn't need it. And they would also help you brainstorm for solutions and are flexible to accommodate to your needs. Well, the is a bit of a late review. I first went to see Dr. Jerry on New Year's eve 2013. I have not been to a dentist in 17-18 years, due to FEAR of course! When one of my fillings fell out and I love to eat during the new year, I searched around me for a dentist. I never had a female dentist but only males, I was really scared but Dr. Jerry was open on that day and able to help me right away. I was wondering what kind of dentist has no life and working on this day. Fearing for that, I said good bye to my family, nearly in tears and went in. The assistant was very nice, the paper work took less than 10 mins and there was no waiting which was good. You do not want to be shaking in fear at such a place. While waiting for the x-rays, Dr. Jerry came in to say "Hi" and checked out the tooth. Telling me the what can be with it.....but tell me a x-ray will be clearer. The x-ray showed my filling was too old and fell out and I needed a new one and a few others are old and needed to be redone. I was worry I have to wait it out another day but he was very nice to get them fixed so I an enjoy my new year......I have been visiting for the last almost 2 years and so does my whole family.
