I bought a keyboard for the iPad Pro. The keyboard has some issues where you actually cannot type in small letters occasionally and it forces you to type in caps. Very annoying. So I came to return it and it took literally less than a minute from entering the store and being able to return and get a refund! That's probably the fastest return I've ever done - ever. I'll keep this short. I'm going on attempt number 5 to fix my phone. Initial problem was a cracked screen which led to a broken home button from a botched repair, to another broken home button, and another. All within 8 weeks. Was told, hand lotion might be the culprit. hmmm..... doubtful. Now i have a new phone and a broken sim card in it. Was told that was normal when i was in the store, to just restart it. My fault for getting out there and doing it when I got home. Now i'm going on hour 2 trying to fix it with apple and sprint. pretty speechless. read more

I couldn't ask for more. It was amazing. Great people, extremely friendly. I even made a friend. They took care of my problem quickly. Didn't take too long to meet with a tech person, he was amazing. He told me my broken phone will be fixed at 1:20 pm, and guess what I went back at 1:16 and my phone was ready. The lady at the check out was wonderful as well. I remember my first venture into this store kind of fondly. The Domain had just opened and I'd had lunch with two Yelpers, one of whom I had a little crush on. They wanted to go in and drool over the new iMacs. Not wanting to be lame, I went along... and drooled too. Now, THAT is a sexy piece of equipment. I let the boys on their own and wandered to look at iPod accessories for my old school shuffle... of which they had few. A year later, I'm the proud owner of an iBook (yes, it's old... but still awesome), a 3g Nano (for which The Apple Store had minimal accessories for when I got it), and am an Apple aficionado. Oh, and I dated said Yelper whom I had a crush on for nearly 2 years. His birthday was this past week, and, having just purchased a new MacBook Pro, I decided to head to The Apple Store once again to purchase a gift for him and the computer. I was greeted immediately and directed to where the laptop cases are located (I'd called the day before to be sure they were in stock). I found what I was looking for and was slightly confused about the check out process. One of the huge iMac screens showed instructions on paying, so I located an Apple employee to ring me up. It's so cool! They just bust out the little LRT scanner looking thing, scan your item, run your card, then email you the receipt. It was that easy! No waiting in line, as the employees are abundant. I drooled over the MacBook Air on the way out of the store, as I'd gone in with a mission. They now also have a much, MUCH better selection of 3g Nano accessories... too bad I'd already bought mine at Radio Shack (what? I had a gift card?!). Turns out, I bought the wrong size. Went back and had no issues exchanging it for the correct one. The exchange was just as easy as the check out process. Also, as a note, when you're looking at the sexy as hell MacBook Airs, DO NOT unplug the little USB thingie... the store alarm WILL sound! Fortunately, we quickly plugged it back in and apologized, explaining that we were trying to close the little tabby thingie. What a great store. I'll be back someday to get an iMac. read more

The Apple Store used to represent the pinnacle of customer service and product technical support. At some point over the past decade of explosive growth, Apple lost its way and created a convoluted and confusing service system that is best represented by the hoards of customers sitting around waiting to be assisted by an Apple-certified "genius." They used to stand by the quality of their products and offer service representative of that quality. Now you're more likely to be talked down to by an employee furiously prodding away at an iPad without ever so much as an upwards glance. read more

Here's a vent I wrote to Apple today regarding my iPhone 4 purchasing experience. Also, I've titled this mini-essay "The First Worldiest of First World Problems; or When I Wasted My Lunch Hour Buying a Future Phone." -------------- The line I was in took forty-five minutes to get through to be able to talk to a salesperson and buy a phone. By the time I reached the front of the line it had more than doubled-- I'm sure some people waited over an hour and a half. I appreciate that the Apple Store's distinction is the training and education that each employee receives and then imparts on to a customer. That said, I really want you to understand that waiting in a line that long and watching your sales rep spend thirty minutes educating an older couple on how to use an iPhone is enormously frustrating. The vast majority of the transactions I witnessed took twenty minutes or more. I have an iPhone, I know how to set one up and use it-- I JUST wanted to pay for it and leave the store. Couldn't there have been a faster method of checkout? With all the innovations that the Apple Store boasts, can't they figure out a way to put phones in the hands of people who already know how to turn them on and make calls? Couldn't one of the free-floating employees with iPads pop over and walk down the line to see if some people's purchases were going to be more straightforward than others and pull some of them out of line? The transaction I made took about, seriously, five or six minutes-- half of that was the time it took for the phone to arrive and a little bit of small talk with the sales guy (named Paul, he was actually great and made that end of the process easy and quick). Anyway, many of your best customers just want to leave the store with their product, right? Particularly iPhones, which have an existing user base that already understand the product and just want to pay their money. Maybe I'm in the minority (full disclosure: I was on my lunch break) and people just know to expect to wait close to an hour. Really made me dread going to the Apple Store for any sort of purchase in the future. Next time I'll just order online. read more

Complete waste of a day spent at this store. I went in after exhausting all possibilities to fix my phone. I arrived around a little before my appointment at 10:50 I was told that my iPhone 12 Pro Max hardware could not read my SIM card and they would have my phone fixed by 12:20 at 12:50 someone finally comes out to speak to me concerning my phone. I was then told it would be another 3 to 4 hours. I then explained I did not want to wait another 3 to 4 hours just give me another phone and keep that one. It's less than a year old. They said they could not do that and I said please send your manager out here. Then the gentleman comes out and says that we will have it fixed in less time than that it will take another hour. The manager comes out and I said do you think you can offer me at least a free cheap case for my troubles. She said that she couldn't but could offer me 10 percent off. SERIIOUSLY 10 percent doesn't even buy me lunch. I was then handed my phone back and they didn't even offer to put my SIM card back in and gave me my phone back with 12 percent battery. I left the store at 3pm. And, if that wasn't the nail on the coffin I got home to find out I couldn't back up my phone because the geniuses didn't restore the phone. I then spent an additional 2 and a half hours on the phone with Apple to get my phone in working order. read more

My girlfriend and I went to the store you get the battery replaced on her iPhone. The wait wasn't too long. We eventually were helped by a gentleman. Ran diagnostics and what not. He agreed we needed the battery replaced. He ordered the battery and would contact us once it came in. He said no longer than a week. Sunday will be 2 weeks. We called and he never ordered the battery. Now we have to wait even longer for her crappy battery to be replaced. Can't wait for Texas to pass a right to repair bill. read more

My love affair with my iPhone may soon be over. I dropped my phone and shattered my phone face plate. The phone still worked, however, it was shattered in several places. I had one simple question - how much would it cost to repair? I tried calling the store in the Domain. Well, Apple doesn't allow you to do this. Why would they - they're Apple after all. So I had an automated choice of appointment or tech support. I tried tech support. She didn't know the answer (after 20 minutes) so she tried to make me an appointment. Well the application wasn't working so I was SOL. I go down to the Domain and the first guy says sorry we're busy. I talk to a second guy who says I'm not due for an upgrade until June. All of this is great information - but no one answered my question on how much it would cost to fix. All I was told is I wasn't allowed at the 'Genius Bar' that would fix it. A Genius Bar? Seriously? I wanted to throw up right there on the guys shoes. I finally took my phone to iTech on Burnet Road who repaired my phone for $69 (Apple wanted at least $200) and fixed my phone within an hour. No ridiculous name for a counter, no long wait, no nerdy guy with an iPad. Just customer service. What a concept. No I remember what my hesitancy was to get an Apple product in the first place. God they're over rated. Stay away from this store. It was my last visit for sure. read more

I've been here three times now, and all 3 times now they have not honored what I was told during my previous visit. The visits weren't even far apart...they were within the same week! If you want to go somewhere where they walk around like security around the White House, just waiting for someone to try to steal their "sample" iphones and ipads, then go here. Made an appointment to have a battery replaced in a Mac. The employees there act like you are not even there. Once cornering one they send you to the person with red sleeves then to person with green tablet etc. After waiting 2.5 hours for a 1 hour job asked for status. Was told "oh they are probably still working on it". Was sent to front then back to person with green tablet and demanded they check. PC was fixed an hour earlier but they were not calling the number left. Very poor customer service. read more

Purchased an iPad Pro online, drove over 70 miles to pick it up. Customer service person, showed us protection covers & picked up the 2 pieces we decided on, told us that was what we needed. Got home & could not get them to fit properly. Looked at the box they came in & believe it or not she gave us to different pieces. Although there was only a slight difference, she should have known. Called the Apple Store, which in turn told us we had 14 days to exchange it. Went there today & it was $10 more & we could not get the difference although we had to make 2 trips due to there mistake. read more

Yeah I know for most of us the iOS 7 update was cool and left us all giddy but for some of us that use certain programs on the iPad...Ugh not so giddy. So for me after the first wave of anxiety passes I calmy went into the Apple store(Nope didnt have an appointment) flagged a cool looking employee. Explained how desperate I was to get my program working again, and we started working on problem solving the situation. He asked me if I had everything backed up because we needed to delete the program and reinstall. You know how your voice goes up a little higher when your lying to someone. Yes(high voice) I have everything backed up. Took a chance anyway. Deleted the program, re-installed and booyah! Back in buziness. I know i could have called Apple support and went through all that but I took a chance by stopping into the Apple store to see what they could do. Glad I did. Terrible experience ... Today we had booked an appointment at 5h40 to get help with an iphone wifi which does not turn on... We shows up on time and go to he genius bar where I guess you should be welcome. instead of that we were told that even if we have to checkin.. try to find one guy in the busy store which hold an green ipad. what a wonderfull idea ! so we find the guy that ask us to wait at a table.. 40min later someone show up.. Without saying anything about the delay, she say your phone is broken we cannot fix it you have to buy a new one, without even try to run any check on the hardware. after our compliant she run a check that confirm the hardware problem. This phone is 1year and 4months old and bluetooth, wifi are no longer working... 5min after we were out of the shop very disapointed. Apple product life span is a serious problem, and the support does not follow properly.... read more

AVOID this place at all costs. First of all, you cannot talk to anyone over the phone. I made an appointment and STILL had to wait 45 minutes to see someone. Without an appointment , it's a 2 hour wait. They have hundreds of employees walking around the store , yet they can't help customers in a timely manner. They ruined my laptop after running some diagnostics to screen for an issue that Apple emailed me about and said was a fault of their own. Ridiculous. read more

Don't go to the store if you need help with MobileMe or ipod. They don't provide MobileMe Genius help. You will be told to call 800MYAPPLE. MobileMe support and ipods are only supported via Apple Support Express Lane chat. Expect to wait 30 minutes before chat starts. They also don't have access to your receipts or any data. So left hand doesn't talk to right hand at Apple. read more

Coming here is like going to the dmv or dentist. Painful. Was 30 minutes early for my appointment and an hour later in still waiting. Looks like the only way to get someone to come help is if you have a dog a screaming child with you. Those people are coming and going pretty quick. Staff is always super friendly when I come in to try out something, ask questions, make a purchase, or need something fixed. However, some of them seem to only know as much as I do about the product so they're not as helpful as I would hope when asking about a product/promotion. Brought in a phone to have the hardware replaced after online apple support determined that the phone had a problem, Apple online support made the appointment. When we brought the phone into the store, the manager (Brandon) refused to replace the phone saying that there was nothing wrong with the phone. He was arrogant and refused to listen to reason. He refused to talk with Apple online support and just had a singular statement to make - there is nothing wrong with the phone. I don't know what the apple support was looking at. Incompetent, rude and discourteous staff. I needed to get my wife's old Macbook pro formatted before returning it to Apple for credit. Needed to get support since the online formatting instructions didnt seem to work. Staff at the entry made an appointment for me with a variable time, wherein I was told I would get two text messages. The first message would be sent 15 mins before my actual appointment time, and the second nearer to it. I directly got a message saying that tech support was ready for me. Somehow I scrambled and go to the store in 15 mins. But in the mean time, I get a message saying that my appointment has been cancelled and I would have to make a new reservation ! I went into the store and somehow got someone to reschedule my appointment and check me in. I waited at the bar for nearly half an hour, and during this time, not a single staff came to me and asked if someone had helped me. Finally, I called out to one staff and they told me I was checked in and someone would help me shortly. Then another staff, who seemed like a manager, went and told another staff member that I needed help. This guy was extremely rude and hostile. He told me I wasnt checked in. I told him I was and pointed to the guy who had checked me in. I politely asked him how the appointment time got messed up, and whether I could have replied to the texts. He tells me 'Not everything is perfect', and pushes my laptop towards me after the formatting is done. Everything in this encounter was hostile, from his tone to his body language. Never had a bad experience here. Less than stellar, sure - but only weekends. I don't blame the store though, they had a million employees running all over the place, but they were way outnumbered. Hell yes this place accepts credit cards. There's not much at the Apple Store that costs less than a 'Benjamin' so bring a wallet-full o' $$ or a couple of cards. That being said, my heart always starts pumping a bit faster and my breathing gets kind of irregular when I walk in to the AS - it is FILLED with cool stuff that gets me in a state of semi-tumescence. iPhones, 'pods, Macbooks, software, etc. I always find something here to buy (even though most of the other shops at the Domain make me **yawn**). 5 nerd stars - should be higher. read more
