I will NEVER go here again! I wanted a new upper partial (they didn't do first one) - hygienist was unable to X-ray my teeth so went to another dentist. They then called to tell me my partial has been approved.So I returned When I got my EOB I called to ask who authorized a lower partial too. Dr. Dang said they didn't ask for lower partial only upper. I told her I have the EOB saying otherwise . She then said these exact words to me "you are a liar. You are a liar! " I have the EOB to prove it and it was NOT approved bc they billed my private insurance first. Tried telling the guy in the office but he just pretended that he didn't know English. Not true! Alex at the front desk was rude, unable to listen, and completely oblivious to the fact I had call ahead to cancel. To start he have.us an appointment time at 1030 am. We showed up at the time slit and we're told it was for 230 pm. Then, we were informed we would be charged for the late cancelation, even though it was their mistake. Taking our business elsewhere, unprofessional and rude. Alex should not be in the office, he has poor communication skills, and lacks in insurance billing, as well as professionalism. When I started going here they were very nice. After a few months they changed their tune. My girlfriend went and was told they could not do her root canal and sent her to a Endodontist. The endo said it needed to be pulled. We went back to have it pulled and the dDr was so rude. Wouldn't take the referral from the endo. Then wanted to charge us $100 just to see if she could pull the tooth. Fact is she was busy and did not want to even do it. WE ARE DONE with the crappy service. Never again read more

I had a broken tooth and this office was able to get me in on a Monday. Office staff and Dr Dang were very professional and caring to my needs. I ended up needing a root canal and was referred to Sierra Endodontics. I can't thank Dr Dang enough for the attentiveness by her and her staff. I previously rated her higher but that changed today. I had an implant put in and after it healed she told me I had to wait to get my crown put in because the torque wrench she needed for my crown she didn't have and didn't want to spend $500 on a new tool. Okay that's understandable. Months and months go by. I finally get called in. She said she got a tool from another dentist in town but it was 20 years old. Even though red flags were going off in my head she proceeded to attempt to screw in my crown...and breaks the screw. Now I have to see my oral surgeon so he can remove the broken screw fragment. I talk to Alex the front manager on the phone and tell him that as a patient how does he think it makes me feel that I'm not worth buying a proper tool for? Not a word from Dr. Dang. I go in this morning to my oral surgeon to have the broken screw removed from my implant. After 45 minutes of working he can't get the screw out. Because of that my otherwise perfectly good implant had to be completely removed. Now I am back to square one a few thousand out of pocket gone because Dr. Dang didn't care enough about me as a patient to buy a new tool. I've been her patient for about 8 years now and would just caution people to learn from my experience. I'm really disappointed and sad. Even after a horrible day...still no word from Apple Family Dentistry to check on me. No apology, nothing. Looks like I will be looking for another dentist. read more

NEGLEGENT! That is the start of this review. For a dentist we have trusted. I asked the right questions; they never were checking any further than they had to. Finally due to some red flags, I ended up going to another dentist. after spending money and some surgery I had to have due to Dr. Dang negligent. I was soo beyond upset, that I think she needs to have the Dental association look at her practice. If you want a McDonald type Dentist, This is the place to go. Don't expect quality and care, She seem to do just enough to get you in and out the door. I paid a lot of money for something that could have been prevented or caught a lot sooner, aside from almost losing my teeth. Do you own research because they are not going to go above and beyond when it comes to caring for your teeth. I don't know if its laziness on her part or not caring enough. Horrible dentistry Office to go to. I go in there and get my teeth cleaned they do not even properly clean my teeth. They are very rude over the phone even though you cancel your appointments. Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of Nevada Office of the Attorney General 100 North Carson St. Carson City, NV 89701-4717 2-1-13 I took my daughter Clara age 11 in to Apple Family Dentistry for a cleaning and x-rays. After being consulted by Dr Dang Clara had 2 cavities that needed to be filled. I scheduled a follow up appointment for the fillings on 3-25-10 at 3pm. I have the appointment card that states "Clara Fills" 3-25-13 at 3pm. I was told it would be 1/2 hour appointment. 3-25-13 I took her back to have the fillings done. After an hour she came out we walked to the car. I asked to see her new fillings and she opened her mouth to me finding a filling and a crown... I immediately went back inside the office and asked why she had a crown? Dr Dang came out and told me it was due to the fact that she had a broken tooth. This was news to me and I asked Clara if her tooth had broke. She said "NO". Dr Dang said she must of then had a cracked tooth. This was also not true. I asked why she would put a crown on an 11 year old baby tooth that would be falling out anytime. Claras twin has been losing the 12 year old molars I assume she would be losing them soon also. I feel like this is fraudulent. This crown was put there unknowing and unwilling to me her Mother or to Clara the patient. We at no time were consulted about a crown. My daughter is in constant pain and irritation due to this unstable crown. She is this far unwilling to go back or to another Dentist to have it looked at. Beware! Trust your instincts! I brought my child to this dentist because she took Medicaid and was close. When I was accepted for Medicaid, I took my son to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned and get an exam. Dr. Dang did two fillings and said he needed crowns on the teeth on top of the supernumerary teeth. I specifically asked her about this and she waved me off, stating that he needed the crowns now. Dr. Dang submitted a request for my son to have the crowns done. We were notified that we were approved after almost 3 months and scheduled an appointment. When we got to the office, I asked her again about the supernumerary teeth and asked to see the x-ray. She stated "don't worry about them, they are fine." She was rude, unprofessional, and very impolite and kept waving off my questions. I asked if I could stay with my son and she refused and said it would be 1.5 hrs. So I went to the store. I received a call from my son about 40 minutes later. He was crying and begging me to come get him. He said Dr. Dang cut his tongue and then laughed about it as she told him! He ran out of the office terrified and choking on blood. When I got there he had a blood soaked cloth in his mouth one in his hand and begged me not to make him go back in. I ran into the office and she immediately pointed at and began blaming my child. She took absolutely NO responsibility, never apologized and repeatedly said "it was all his fault! " She told me she refused to finish the work, saying "he need to be sedated and she work no more on him, go to dentist that will sedate him." I had to take him to the emergency room. She had cut a V slice out of the of tip of my child's tongue and also a cut a gash underneath the tongue. (picture attached) I absolutely would not let her touch my child again I asked her for the chart and his x-rays. She wouldn't give me anything until I signed a release. Because this is medicaid, I have had many problems getting help for my son and had to pay cash to get his fragile teeth covered. They have been hurting my son and he is still on pain meds. We have to wait to get pre-approval for the oral surgery that should have been scheduled before any crowns were completed. This entire situation could have been avoided if we went to a competent dentist. read more

This dentist doesn't let you go back with your children. She says she puts sealants on when she doesn't She does a poor job cleaning teeth. Came in after not having been to the dentist in about 7 years (yikes!). I was prepared for the worst, but only minimal work was needed. I had two cavities to be filled, and then Dr. Dang suggested a deep cleaning. The deep cleaning required my mouth to be numbed, and they made this process as quick and painless as possible. I am a big wuss when it comes to dental work, so this put me at ease. Once numbed the procedures went very quick. What I was told would take up to 3 hours ended up taking only two. I am very happy that I have found Apple Family Dentistry to maintain my teeth! read more

Dr. Dang responded quickly when my old crown suddenly fell out. I had a trip coming up and she was able to put a rush on the lab work, and just in time! Perfect fit the first time, too. None of that grinding and adjusting that can go on and on. I'm a senior, retired from careers with great dental coverage, and have had several good dentists in other states. The amount the wanted us to pay after insurance was outrageous!! I sent him to my dentist for a second opinion and guess what! This place is a joke. The front desk lady is rude and a liar. She says she checked my insurance coverage, which she lied about, resulting in me having to pay for care I was told was covered. I visited Dr. Dang from a friend's recommendation when I first moved to Reno and soon after got a toothache. Dr. Dang diagnosed it as being several cavities, so I went in to the office to have them filled. They sat me down and made me wait for about an hour without saying why, and then came and started taking "a couple of x-rays" which became about 50+ x-rays over the course of another hour. They finally finished about two hours after my appointment time and the dentist said she wanted to go home so she'd like to reschedule the cavity filling. On my way out I was told the insurance covered the x-rays 100% (they said "COVERED", not "SHOULD COVER"). I then return for the cavity filling and am hit with a huge bill for the x-rays because it turns out I had already had x-rays done that year (about 10 months earlier) and the insurance would not cover the charges. My previous dentist always made sure I had no prior x-rays taken before taking more, and it upsets me that Dang went ahead and took the x-rays when she was ALREADY AWARE THAT I HAD SEEN ANOTHER DENTIST THAT YEAR (we had discussed it on an earlier visit). I said I'd pay later and forgot about it. I got a call a while later asking me to pay the charges and I disputed them, saying the doctor should have checked before just doing something (something that contributes to BRAIN CANCER, no less) and not even asking me if it was okay first or asking me if I might have had x-rays already. I was politely told that I could speak with a manager. Later that night I get a call saying "sorry, I forgot we don't have a manager, but the dentist can speak with you later." I was told the dentist would give me a call back. Three months later I get another call asking me to pay the bill. I mention that I am expecting a call from the dentist still and that I will not pay the bill until I do, and they say okay, they'll make a note. Three months later, there was a repeat of the exact same conversation. Six months later they call me and say they will turn the charges over to collections, and to top it off say that the dentist called me 5 months ago and left a message, when that actually never happened. Don't go to this dentist unless you want to get ripped off. They have no issues subjecting their patients to unnecessary, possibly carcinogenic procedures and then charging you for it. Also, Dang was not gentle at all and her procedures left me with toothaches for weeks after. read more

I am the kind of guy did not write review much at all but I have to do it this time because of the great service Dr. Dang provide to my kid when she worked on my kid's teeth this time around. She took the time to explain all the necessary works need to be done and the cost (which is really helpful). I have appointment with her so that I do not waste my time waiting around which is a great help since i am a busy man. My 4 year old didn't want to go back alone. The assistant insisted with, "we'll do the xrays and get mom" which i agreed because of the whole xray machine thing... So tell me why they did the whole exam without getting me? I let my 8 year old boy who had no problem going back go back himself. It's different when my 4 year old girl needs her mom. Well needless to say my daughter said "that dentist is mean" "I hate her" "she hurt my cheek" my daughter has a canker sore in her cheek which was not there the morning of appt. when we flossed! The napkin had 5 or 6 blood smears... my daughter never bleeds when she shoves those kid flossers in between all her teeth everynight! Just sayin! And I even Floss her and my son as well to make sure they got them all.. I just am mind blown when she sends me to get the work done were they'll put her asleep BECAUSE They didn't send over a dental plan so I have to physically go in with my paper referral to schedule the appt. And knowing what my daughters teeth looks like oh so well I'm curious as to how this tiny needle dot cavity i saw before is now the size of a pen dot. Make your own decision before going.
